We liked most of the hotel. The pricing was reasonable and it was in a nice and quiet area in Geneva. We found the beds to be comfy and felt the shower was excellent with a couple of different settings to get some good pressure. We had two twin beds and the room had enough furnishings in it to enjoy but it is just a place to sleep. The room ran a bit warm for us in late October but having the window open helped.
They have a very good breakfast with a good variety of items like Swiss cheese, bacon, cured meats, breads and some good pastries. Coffee, tea and juice is also included and they have a few dispensers in the dining area. Hot water is available here in case you want to make a hot drink and bring it back to your room.
When we visited this hotel there was an internet outage in Vernier so there was no wifi available at the hotel for the duration of our stay and our cellular was blocked. The parking garage was also doing some painting so it was tricky to figure out the parking situation and getting into the parkade because there was no signage. We had issues with the front desk because the staff did not inform us of these known issues while we were checking in and we found it somewhat frustrating but when we inquired about these issues at the front desk the staff that I spoke to was rude, argumentative and condescending while the one lady insisted that they told us during check in but we were simply providing feedback that they did not. We had booked a twin room and a double room for our family but the rooms were mixed around and we didn't figure it out until the next morning and just thought it was what it was.
My wife and I could not help but notice that the staff in the breakfast area only asked people of colour for their breakfast card. Each time we went up to grab something they were asking someone of colour for their card to prove they were ok to dine in the breakfast area and it happened so frequently that it did not seem to be a coincidence. Staff could improve by asking everyone or simply having a front desk before the dining area where people could check in so they do not have to weirdly single people out.
I believe the hotel was charging a 25 CHF fee per day for parking because it is a third party that operates the parkade. They did advise us that we could choose to pay this fee or pay at the machine in the parkade. When we asked about the costs of the parkade the front desk staff nor the parking operator could advise us what the overnight fees would be but someone later shared that we could check the machine when we go to check out and we found a payment schedule and only had to pay 15 CHF overnight. I have attached the payment schedule to this review.
There is not much near this hotel but we felt it was a convenient overnight stay as we drove around Switzerland. We enjoyed some aspects of the hotel but there are definitely some opportunities to improve.
The rooms are well-equipped, clean and tidy. The hotel is not far from the train station, Lake Geneva, and the city center, all within walking distance. In addition, guests staying at the hotel can ride on the city bus for free.
Hotel is located right at heart of city but the room was too small for the price. In Geneva, free transport pass is given to tourist - so location is not really so important - something I was not aware of when booking. Staff in hotel is superb and 5 Star quality.
The location is perfect. You can just walk to anywhere from the hotel. I like the water pressure for the bath. I don’t see anything wrong with this hotel other than it is slightly hot and the ac is not new.
Environment: The environment did not meet expectations, and the room was very small
Sanitation: The sanitation environment was OK, but overall it did not meet expectations, which was in contrast to the room price
Facilities: There were almost no facilities, and slippers, toothbrushes, etc. were charged separately
Excellent location, right opposite to Geneva station. Allow early checkin, very nice services from staff. Room is clean and new. Great washroom setup and accessories. Suitable for business travellers too, will definitely book again next time.
It is Ok distance to the airport (although physically near you have to get the bus/shuttle as there is a highway in between). It is quite cheap for Geneva.
The hotel is new and clean. Although the hotel located near the airport but still need to take the public bus to reach airport. Using Google map to reach the hotel is not updated, which caused me to walk about 10mins to reach the hotel. In fact there is a bus stop just right beside the hotel.
You must tell this hotel in advance that you want to stay in the same building as the restaurant, otherwise you will be asked to go to another building, which is about 300 meters away. It is not convenient to have breakfast because it is several hundred meters away. It is suitable for tourism and relaxation because it is in the village. The surrounding environment is very quiet and comfortable, but it is very inconvenient if you don't drive. It is suitable for people who slow down their pace. The price is cheap. The surrounding environment is rural, with grape trees and rape flowers. It was beautiful when I came here in April. At the same time, the shower and toilet are not in the room but are shared, but the price-performance ratio is very good.
Mostly good. BUT! 3 hours after I paid the city tax at the front desk, the hotel tried to deduct money from my card for 90 CHF without informing me anything. I was in my room that time suddenly noticed the notification. Luckily, as there’s not enough money for my account, it failed. Today morning when I asked the staff at the front desk, she just told me the deduction of the money finally failed so it shouldn’t have any effect to my account without any further explanation. Pay attention to this. If there was 90CHF in my account yesterday, it will be a loss of money.

SSaan ChoyRoom is clean and comes with the convenience of a small functional kitchen. Bed is comfortable.
Location is excellent. Close to the fountain jet, train station and shops.
Very quiet as well for the inside facing room we had.
Staff are helpful.

KKamalathaI went a day earlier to confirm my stay with the hotel. They couldn't find my booking. I showed them my confirmation on my phone. I was told that they can see my confirmation number but no payment was made by trip.com. They assured me that such has happened before and told me to be on the safe guard book another room as a standby. They assured me that they will not swipe my card until matter is resolved. That assurance made me check in. I kept coming to the front office every now and then and I was told it was resolved. Only on the last night I was told that by Trip.com of the error in the address. In the meantime the hotel had swiped my card. Surprisingly they did not honour the feedbacks I gave to Hotel Montana Geneve and Hotel Montana Zurich. There was no email to apologise for the oversight and delay in handling. I went to the hotel one day earlier to check, they could have attended to it and not confidently putting the blame on trip.com since there has been previous incidents where [ayment was not received.
I thought Hotel Montana group could have handled this matter better. Quite disappointing.

GGuest UserThe reception is so friendly and helpful, she tells us too many things about transportation of Geneva. Also, the reception allow us check in earlier. Very good experience.
GGuest UserLocation was great, 2 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes to the lake. Room was clean. It had a kettle but no fridge. The street below was noisy at night with people shouting.
However, the hotel refused to honour my Trip.com booking for a double room and insisted I had booked a single room. It had a narrow 80cm bed. Despite me showing email confirmations and print outs, reception staff were rude and would not budge. Trip.com was great and although they were not able to sort it out, they gave me a goodwill gesture towards my next booking.
TTravellerrThe hotel is quite near to the airport and they provide free shuttle to the airport. However, it would be better if they could start the shuttle service earlier in the morning (e.g. 4:30 am for those who have a 6am flight)

MMGood location near the airport, public transport and coop supermarket within walking distance. Free shuttle bus service every 20min to/fro airport. Amenities wise and breakfast are no frills and simple. Staff is helpful and contactable via the trip.com call function - which is very helpful.
