This was my first time staying at the 18 Degrees Intelligent Hotel, mainly because I wanted to try out their much-hyped smart room control system. And honestly, it was pretty cool! I'm not a tech-savvy person, but being able to adjust the lights and curtains just by voice? That's a lifesaver for lazy people, seriously! Just a quick shout from the pillow and everything's taken care of – pretty neat indeed.
The room had a minimalist vibe, very clean, not like staying in a cluttered storage unit, haha. It was a high-floor room with a view, so I got to see the Kunming nightscape, which felt a bit 'chic.' What's more, the hallway was incredibly quiet during check-in in the daytime, not a single noisy sound, which is perfect for someone like me who hates noise.
Self check-in was also super convenient. No need for small talk with the front desk; I got my room card in minutes (and there was no queue, which made me happy!). I initially thought all those 'influencer hotspots' were just gimmicks, but the photos actually turned out great, even without filters.
It offers really good value for money. Honestly, I'll definitely choose this place for my future business trips.

The location is great! You can see the snow-capped mountains right outside the guesthouse. There's a viewing platform where you can enjoy afternoon tea. It's also very close to the ancient town and not far from the bus stop. Since we stayed for three consecutive nights, they arranged airport pickup for us and even helped with our luggage, which was excellent service. We hadn't planned our trip, but the owner thoughtfully recommended attractions and routes. Overall, it's great value for money, highly recommended!

This hotel is located in the Gaozhuang scenic area, just a few minutes from the night market! Downstairs, there are all sorts of great food options, leisure activities, and massage services. Being right on the Lancang River, you get amazing, wide-open river views with plenty of natural light.
The facilities are complete, the bedding is comfortable, and everything is clean!
The hotel's breakfast restaurant also offers river views, and the breakfast spread is rich and varied. The front desk service is warm and attentive; they even gave us a welcome gift, which was a lovely touch!
I sincerely recommend this place.

The front desk staff were incredibly warm and patient, guiding us attentively throughout our stay, which left a fantastic impression. The hotel is conveniently located right opposite a park, offering lovely green views from the window – a true oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. We got excellent rest. The room itself was clean, hygienic, and well-designed, making for a comfortable and reassuring stay. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

As a loyal IHG member, I've stayed at over 10 InterContinental hotels in different regions, but the delightful experience at InterContinental Kunming genuinely impressed me!
The hotel boasts an elegant environment, feeling like a sprawling resort park. It's incredibly photogenic, and the location is superb, just a 10-minute walk from Dianchi Lake. The path along the way is lush and green, perfect for taking bread to feed the seagulls in the morning.
Breakfast was quite extensive, but with many guests due to the holiday, we opted for the Executive Lounge (à la carte + buffet). The Executive Lounge at InterContinental Kunming served the best food I've ever had! For dinner, besides the usual stir-fries, there were fish, shrimp, and various small cakes. Normally, I only take a tiny bite of cakes at buffets, but these cakes clearly used quality ingredients and had a rich, lingering flavor – I could easily eat several!
Even the complimentary drinks for IHG members could be customized into fancy concoctions, and their taste rivaled Starbucks! (As a foodie, these are the details I notice.) The rooms were standard and perfectly adequate. The IHG Rewards Club front desk, the Executive Lounge, and all the service staff I encountered at the hotel were polite and provided excellent service. I stayed at many luxury hotels in different cities during my Yunnan trip, but for overall experience and value for money, I give InterContinental Kunming a perfect score! 💯

I had the most beautiful stay in Jianshui. The hotel was clean, bright and very comfortable.
The hospitality was fantastic, which as a solo traveller I was very grateful for. I was given tea and fruit on arrival and the laoban introduced me to all the key spots in Jianshui and sent me recommendations of food spots too. I was given a delicious breakfast with some of the best congee I've had in China! I really felt at home.
The location is fantastic, right in the old town on a beautiful side street with a peaceful quaint atmosphere.
The hotel also organised a taxi to take me onto my next destination - thank you both for a wonderful stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!
My stay at the MGallery Dongfengyun Hotel in Mile was a delightful surprise overall.
First, the most striking impression: the environment is truly exceptional. The design is unique, beautifully integrating local artistic flair. Both the public areas and the rooms feel incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The service was also spot on; the staff were warm and responsive, always quick to help with any requests.
The hotel's proximity to the Dongfengyun scenic area is a huge plus. They even offer free shuttle buggy service, making trips to and from the attraction convenient and hassle-free.
However, a minor drawback is its somewhat secluded location. There aren't many decent restaurants nearby, so finding food outside the hotel can be a bit inconvenient. Fortunately, the hotel's own dining options are quite good, with a satisfying variety and taste, so eating on-site was a good experience.
One more thing to mention is the hotel's complimentary photography service. They offer 5 free photos, but if you want more, you have to pay extra, and the prices are quite high. It didn't feel like great value for money, and I honestly think it would be better and more cost-effective to hire a freelance photographer beforehand. This was a bit disappointing.
Overall, considering the fantastic environment, excellent service, and convenient location near the scenic area, it's highly recommended, especially for those looking for a quiet getaway and planning to focus their visit on the Dongfengyun area.

This B&B is absolutely fantastic! The room is clean and tidy with amazing natural light. The host is warm and thoughtful, and the location is super convenient for getting around. I felt so comfortable and at ease, I'll definitely choose this place again next time! The B&B's location is superb, offering a peaceful retreat despite being in a bustling area. The room is clean and bright, with all necessary amenities provided. The host is incredibly kind and always ready to help. I had such a safe and pleasant stay!

Location: A Poetic Retreat in the Ancient Town
Just a twenty-minute drive from Lijiang Station, this hidden gem by Shuhe River is easily accessible. Cobblestone paths lead to its entrance, and from your window, you'll be greeted by the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain – an ethereal ink wash painting suspended in the sky, shrouded in mist in the mornings and bathed in golden hues at sunset. Shuhe Ancient Town is a mere ten-minute walk away, and while Dayan and Baisha are just a short drive, the hotel offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, providing a tranquil 'away from the city, yet not far' experience.
Culinary Delights: A Symphony of Yunnan Flavors and Lake Breezes
For breakfast, you absolutely must try the crossing-the-bridge noodles at Yuechu: a simmering copper pot and ten side dishes added in sequence, so fresh you can almost taste the breeze from Erhai Lake. For dinner, I highly recommend the mushroom feast at Dianxiang Restaurant. Their matsutake steam pot chicken is cooked without a single drop of water, the sweetness seeping from the bones. The most unforgettable experience, however, was the lakeside barbecue. As dusk settled, the charcoal crackled, and grilled black goat ribs, seasoned with chili powder, paired perfectly with a 'Feng Hua Xue Yue' beer. Looking up, the silhouette of the snow-capped mountains reflected in the lake, and even the wind carried the scent of pine needles.
Cultural Immersion: A Living Naxi Museum
The hotel itself is a work of art. Spread across 180,000 square meters of gardens, the building density is less than 15%, with traditional 'San Fang Yi Zhao Bi' (three rooms, one screen wall) structures, featuring white walls and blue tiles, scattered throughout. In the mornings, practicing Qigong in the courtyard, you can hear the chanting of Dongba scriptures drifting from the tea house. In the afternoon, while following a photo tour group, the photographer will point out that the patterns on the screen wall represent 'frog god's blessings,' and the intricate carvings on the pillars tell stories of the Tea Horse Road.

Starting from good things. Room with private hot spring was nice and clean and bed and bed linen was great. Despite hot spring pool was leaking and needed to refill constantly. But no problem with that if water supply is turned on and you can operate yourself with valves. Hotel staff recommended many places for eating outside. Thanks for that!
We arrived before check in time and asked to spend our time near the pool area which was not problem. When I was looking for toilet then lady from shop told to me that I should go outside the territory and use toilet which is for camper van people. And it was not toilet but old school ditch. Fortunately it was cleaned.
Lot of things are in real life different than in pictures what you can find in web pages. Many hot springs was closed, on site was not operating restaurants and bars. Only you can order food from app or go outside. Area is under the airplanes take off route that means in daytime lot of noise.
About 6pm domestic water supply was turned off and situation lasted until our leaving next day about 11am. Hotel staff wrote that if you want to use toilet I should let them know and they will find a solution. No shower or washing. Breakfast was simple. In the breakfast area is operational coffee machine but for some reason lady behind the table told that not possible and drink cold pre brewed ice coffee? I hope that it’s not connected with lack of water supply. Machine may be filled with purified bottle water not local tap water.

GGuest UserAmbiance: Tranquil and secluded, a unique Chinese aesthetic. The entire room was filled with the scent of aromatherapy incense, which was incredibly refreshing. I loved the citronella essential oil and bought over 1000 yuan worth, getting a 30% discount – quite a good deal.
Facilities: The open-air heated massage private onsen was fantastic. The room directly faced the 'Golden Mountain in Sunlight' view.
Service: Our butler, Luna, provided excellent service. She helped us book a photography session in advance, arranged our room, including housekeeping, answered all our questions, booked our airport transfer, and took care of little things like the 'Little Turtle' welcome gift and bottled water. Highly recommend! The turndown service was particularly special: on the first night, we had a rose milk foot bath in a copper basin, and on the second night, it was a coarse salt foot bath in a copper basin. Breakfast was also good and came with a scenic view.
One-way airport transfer between the hotel and Lijiang Sanyi Airport: The airport drop-off service was good.
One complimentary ethnic costume photography session (requires booking at least 1 day in advance): I had already taken photos in ******* and Yi costumes a few days prior, so here I tried on Miao ethnic clothing, which was another great experience of local culture. I didn't add any extra photos beyond the included five.
Seasonal welcome fruit: We received small fruit baskets on both days. In the evening, there were fresh juices and small cakes – red pitaya juice and orange juice. There was also a large cake in the fridge!
GGuest UserI just want to show my appreciation to the staff at the motel!
First of all, the staff was super nice and attentive! She spoke softly and gently.
And most importantly, we booked for the most expensive type of room, and it’s definitely worth it! The view was amazing!!!
The room was also spotlessly clean, with heater and humidifier (which are crucial in winter)
Honestly, there is not much in the neighbourhood, but I did enjoy the quietness and peaceful moments there! We took a free taxi (offered by the staff) and visited lijiang old town (around 20 mins away)
The breakfast was good enough (given it’s a small motel) My kids got their portion of breakfast for free too. And the staff kept asking if we needed more!
I wish I had stayed for 1-2 days so I could have more time to enjoy the peaceful time!
Will surely recommend this place!
MM891800****The best decision I made on this trip to Lijiang was choosing the Yueting Inn! I truly didn't want to check out~
The location is absolutely perfect. It's on Lion Mountain, super close to Sifang Street. You can walk to the core area of the old town in just a few minutes, yet it's still away from the hustle and bustle, so I slept incredibly soundly at night. The biggest surprise was the huge viewing terrace. In the morning, you can watch the sunrise paint the gray tiled roofs red, and in the evening, you can sit and feel the breeze while watching the old town light up. Every photo you take is a beautiful scene that needs no editing. The room has a Naxi wooden structure style, combined with modern design. The large floor-toceiling windows offer fantastic natural light, and both the heating and air conditioning were very strong, which was so thoughtful in Lijiang's slightly chilly weather. The bedding was super soft, and I slept wonderfully.
The owner and staff truly embody 'attentiveness' to their core! We had large suitcases and when we arrived at the entrance of the old town, a quick call brought a staff member to pick us up, saving us the trouble of dragging our luggage on the cobblestone streets. After checking in, they gave us a super detailed guide to eating, drinking, and entertainment, even marking niche photo spots clearly. They also kindly treated us to hot tea and flower cakes. When we left, they proactively helped us carry our luggage to the roadside and thoughtfully reminded us about taxi precautions. It felt as comfortable as staying at a friend's house.
The public tea room is beautiful; you can sit there and daydream, or chat with friends from all over the world. This is the slow pace of life Lijiang should offer~ Whether it's the design, service, or value for money, everything is top-notch. I'll definitely stay here again next time I come to Lijiang, and I've already recommended it to friends who are planning to visit!
GGuest UserEverything about this place, from location to hospitality, is amazing! The homestay arranged to pick us up at an intersection and carried our luggages all the way.
The sound proofing of the rooms are not that good though, so a word of caution for light sleepers.
During our stay, 小李 took really good care of us, never failed to ask what we intended to do on each day, provided help and suggestionsto us on what to do. We started and ended each day chatting with him. 😊
On our check out day, we had to leave at 6.30am to Shangri-La and 小李 woke up to help us with our luggages and waited with us till our driver came! We could not thank him enough and appreciate him going all the way to help us.
We had a wonderful 5-day stay and Lijiang made an impression on us. We definitely recommend anyone to stay there..
DDamanmanThe best parts were definitely the view and the service.
The inn is located on Lion Mountain, and there's a fantastic large terrace on the third floor. The hallway leading out of the rooms on the fourth floor also offers amazing scenery, with views of the Old Town and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. You can even lie in bed and see the snow-capped mountains just by opening the curtains.
The inn's service is just as impressive as the view. Everyone was incredibly warm and attentive to every detail. They provided a complimentary airport pick-up when I arrived and helped me book a car to the high-speed rail station when I left, all at a very reasonable price. They also assisted with carrying all my luggage.
MM2be7dsk1****I've stayed in many guesthouses, and this time I chose Guanxin Guesthouse online. First and foremost, their service is excellent. Their housekeeper contacted us a day in advance to ask about our arrival time and came out to pick us up. They also offered afternoon tea, and what touched me most was their complimentary late-night sweet soup – so thoughtful! The room was very cozy, and the biggest surprise was the underfloor heating, which wasn't an extra charge. I feel really lucky to have found such a hidden gem this time.
__WeChat423078****The inn staff met us at the nearest drop-off point outside the old town to help with our luggage. The owner was super welcoming and recommended some amazing local eateries – every single one was delicious, no duds at all! The inn itself is filled with so many plants and flowers, it really feels like you're staying in a lush, green garden. The facilities and service are excellent too; the air conditioning in the room runs 24/7, so whether you're back from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain or a late-night stroll through the ancient town, you instantly feel warm and cozy. There's also a rooftop terrace with direct views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
GGuest UserIt was a very comfortable stay.
We were given a free upgrade from our 120-room room to a family room.
The service was excellent, with airport pickup, shuttle service, breakfast, and afternoon tea.
We had everything we needed. Our clothes were torn and we couldn't find a tailor, so the owner even bought us a sewing kit out of his own pocket.
Honestly, it was the best value for money. The service was so good that I wanted to tip an extra 100.
GGuest UserReasons for recommendation:
Firstly, the boss is great. Despite his cool exterior, the young man has a warm heart. He offered a welcoming tea, actively helped with luggage, and saw guests off. He also proactively helped book various tickets at fair prices with guaranteed quality, and provided all sorts of assistance to meet guests' needs.
Secondly, the guesthouse location is excellent. Situated on Lion Hill, it offers a super wide view. The path from Sifang Street back to the guesthouse is my favorite in the entire ancient city. The winding uphill trail becomes less crowded the further you go, leading to a very tranquil part of the ancient city. There are no bars nearby, so you don't have to worry about noise. Plus, it's very convenient to get back to the guesthouse from outside the ancient city; cars can drive all the way up the hill, and it's just a few tens of meters walk to the guesthouse.
Thirdly, the guesthouse environment is lovely. The guesthouse's signage, much like the boss, is understated, so much so that you might often accidentally walk past it. Beyond the outer corridor, the small courtyard is a hidden gem with flowers, plants, fish, and even a white magnolia tree. On the first day, there was an available room, so the boss upgraded our room type for free. From the room, you can enjoy the ancient city's night view and watch the sunrise over the ancient city in the morning. However, most houses in the ancient city are wooden structures, so soundproofing is a bit lacking. Those sensitive to noise should consider this carefully. But everyone staying there was quite considerate, and I wasn't bothered by noise at all during my stay.
I'm writing these genuine stay experiences hoping they can help those of you on your phone screen who are still undecided. Finally, the key takeaway: the boss is handsome and kind-hearted. Next time I come to Lijiang, I will still choose Yueshang. I hope it stays around forever and its business thrives.
GGuest UserA few years ago, I stayed at a Pullman hotel in Thailand and had a fantastic experience! So, this time, I decided to book it again for my child and mother. Unfortunately, the service was truly disappointing. I called several weeks in advance to request a room in a good location, and the front desk agent said they'd make a note. I called again a few days before arrival, and even on the day itself, to inform them we'd be checking in late. Yet, they gave us a room right at the very end of the hallway – it was a super long walk from the elevator, from room 01 all the way to 26, around several bends! When I complained, the female manager on duty said, 'It's fine, I think it's perfectly fine!' Her words were truly unworthy of a hotel of this star rating. Ultimately, she told me the hotel was full and no room change was possible. Then, late that night, we discovered the balcony sliding door lock was broken. We had no choice but to pack up our luggage and move rooms the next day. A high occupancy isn't an excuse for poor or slow service! On a brighter note, the breakfast was still good and very plentiful. Also, the complimentary DIY craft experience, painting a Dai umbrella, was a letdown – many of the watercolor pens were dried out and wouldn't work. My child had to search for ages to find a functional one! Overall, this stay was just very mediocre.
