Hotel is old and due a renovation, yes price and location is good but I was very disappointed with the room, windows facing stairs where people frequently walk, your only options are to have 0 sunlight or have strangers stare in your room. Since there’s no separate bathroom (all in 1 room) there’s not even a secure place to change.
Looks a lot better in pictures than reality. But, for 300 yuan honestly it’s okay.
Very lovely and helpful staff!
We had such a delightful experience at this homestay that we chose to optimise our stay the next morning. Opened in 2023/24, the property is impressively well-maintained. Guests were treated to complimentary transportation to or from the train station, and a gift was presented during the stay.
Every staff member—from the front desk to the versatile breakfast cook to the driver—was exceptionally friendly and courteous.
We were particularly touched by Mr Chen, who generously offered his free time for a complimentary tour of the ancient town, his hometown, prior to his afternoon shift. He also extended his photography service during the two-hour-long tour. We couldn’t be more grateful for his kindness and hospitality as he declined our tip. The homestay operator is fortunate to have such a dedicated and welcoming team member.
Areas for improvement:
(a) Install an iron in the laundry area to enhance guest convenience.
(b) Place cleanliness reminder labels in the breakfast area to encourage guests to use new/clean tableware for second helpings.
(c) Label food items, especially local specialties like vermicelli.
Good clean room with what I would consider as a very scenic view at the bend along the river. Easily accessible via road by the back gate.
Very helpful and proactive staff who will offer a lot of information and can help to arrange transport if needed to nearby attractions.

The hotel is very modern and beautifully interior decorated. The room has amazing views being on the 70th floor. The lighting is great in the room and very quiet. The room has a beautiful Morror Art sound system. Drop down screen projector to watch a movie too. Great huge transparent bath tub. The shower and bath products are high standard. There is a Japanese Toto toilette in the bathroom, Dyson hairdryer and good quality slippers. Bathrobes and pyjamas are supplied for the complimentary Himalayan hot salt spa room. It is a perfect hotel for couples. Perfect for a short stay. However There is no breakfast room or gym. It is a short walk from the IFS shopping mall. On the ground floor there are many branded coffee and tea shops.

If you are looking for a mountain vibe, peaceful, away from city and homey experience, this is the hotel for you! The mountain view is unbeatable and it’s so majestic. We have nothing but compliments about our room which can even house 3pax, having a bathtub and sauna to sooth our muscle after a day out were refreshing for us. Another highlight is how delicious the restaurant food is and we couldn’t resist eating the same dish (香芋扣肉) for 3 meals in a row. I am so glad to have booked one more night with this homestay just so that we can chill around the hotel with a tea ceremony with 毛管家 before heading out for our train ride home. Don’t be deterred by its mountainous location, it is only 5min away from the ZJJ forest park attraction entrance and the whole experience be it hardware or software with the homestay are so worth it! Ended my ZJJ tour on such a high note! Me and my parents (both in 70s) love it so much!
Love everything about the hotel! Staffs are very friendly. You can ask them for recommendations and they are willing to help(ask for their wechat!). The room was clean and have good view of the river. At night you can see the show from your room window. The location is convenient for walking to different places. The room have everything you need even a mini washing machine and a heated hanger!! There is a bathtub in the room too. Just the entrance that you have to lift your luggage up the stairs.

Book a review view the view was exceptional. The breakfast was lacklustre and just not up to standard. The room was decent and cleaning could be better. As well as general Maintenance of the room.
The daily housekeeping was none existent. All that was done was bed somewhat neatened and towels refreshed and water provided. No cleaning of anything else was done which was highly disappointing for a 4star hotel. We also kept on running out of toilet paper.
Requesting amenities on xiaodu was pointless cause they never arrived.

Purespace in Zhangjiajie: A Westerner's Oasis Near a Secret Entrance to Heavenly Views
As a Western traveler, finding a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the breathtaking Zhangjiajie National Forest Park can be a daunting task. However, Purespace proved to be an absolute gem, offering not only a welcoming and familiar environment but also a strategic location that unlocked a less crowded path to the park's wonders.
From the moment I arrived, the family who run Purespace went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. Their English proficiency was good, and we used automatic translations when communicating complicated points to ensure we understood each other, it was a welcome relief, and they were incredibly helpful in arranging transportation and offering tips for navigating the park. The hotel itself boasts comfortable beds, wi-fi and wall to ceiling windows. The view is outstanding and easily the best view I’ve ever had at hotel. The bathtub in the window is just amazing - you sit in your bath After a long day of hiking in relaxing atmosphere - it was truly a treat. The breakfast offered a decent selection of Chinese options, with noodles available on demand. Delicious home cooked food was available at lunch and dinner too.
However, the true standout feature of Purespace is its proximity to a lesser-known gate of the national park. Located just a short and easy walk from the hotel is an entrance that seems to be favored by locals and those in the know. This proved to be an absolute game-changer for accessing the Bailong Elevator early in the morning. While the main entrance was often swarming with 000s of guests, this smaller gate offered a quick and easy entry into the park. I was able to reach the base of the Bailong Elevator well before the peak crowds, allowing for a swift ascent and uninterrupted views of the stunning karst formations. This local tip, saved me valuable time and significantly enhanced my overall experience of the park.
Its proximity to the ”secret” gate leading to the Bailong Elevator early is an invaluable asset for those wanting to maximize their time and avoid the ilong queues. I highly recommend Purespace and will stay there again when I go back.

Location was super near the Jiangjiajie National Park, it was within walking distance or taxi was only 6 renminbi (or less if you use coupons on your own). Also, it was within walking distance to the stores and restaurant on the main street, yet quiet enough for a good night sleep. Service was superb and their ”butler” service was over and beyond. The sole of a shoe fell and they managed to buy and bring us a brand new sole glue as requested within 30 minutes. The butler's trip itinerary suggestions were also very well planned and detailed that we do not need to hire a tour guide for the whole trip, we can just do it ourselves. The auntie cooks breakfast for you every morning, and different options were available. They have adopted a cat and you can play with it in the lobby if you are lucky enough to see it! Most importantly, room is very warm even in Winter. The only down side was it was a bit far from the city centre (30 min drive) but thats what you get when you want to stay nearer to the mountains, and we were totally fine with that.

I don’t usually leave reviews but the stay at Yeenjoy was the best hotel experience I have ever had. The hotel stay came with so many extra perks (tea ceremony, coffee, icecream, beer) and the room was immaculate and very comfortable to stay in. We even got upgraded into a larger room when the staff saw our bags and decided they looked big. I would recommend Yeenjoy Hotel to anyone travelling to Changsha

AAnonymous UserI enjoyed my stayed at this exceptional hotel. Everything a 5 star hotel has, this hotel also have such as clean, friendly, lovely amenities, quietness, rich breakfast, lovely ambience, laundry service etc. But what set this hotel apart from even a 5 star hotel are the exceptions. The abilities to go beyond the services provided by a standard hotel. Without the ability to read and write Chinese, they patiently guided me how to get to the hotel from Furong ancient town, brought me to the bus station to get my onward bus ticket to Tongren, personalised laundry service etc. I could go on... All these for one night stay? Impossible for a 200+ rooms famous hotel!! Wish i can give 10 stars. Thank you General Manager Wu Hui. Thank you Deputy GM Long Shengyou and All the wonderful staff at this fabulous hotel. Please allow me to extend another 3 more nights at your lovely hotel.
MMousekatLovely place! We would stay here again. The owner and his wife are the perfect hosts, thank you! First, our room was upgraded with no charge, then the owner offered to give us advice for the best routes to visit as much as we can. The weather was rainy and changeable, but they recommended us the best ways to avoid the weather conditions. Breakfast was tasty as at home 👌🏻 Also they helped us to communicate with Didi customer service in Chinese. So hospitable hosts, thank you so much! Will miss this place. Recommend it💔

Nnita77The No. 5 Valley Hotel should be a destination in its own right for everyone visiting Zhangjiajie! Not only are the views spectacular, the hotel itself is so beautiful. The rooms are both rustic and modern and the staff are kind, welcoming, and helpful. They offer a pick-up service from both the airport and train station, and dropped us off and picked us up at our convenience to and from the park, although it was difficult to leave the hotel and we had spend at least one day lazing about and enjoying the pools, my favourite being the heated infinity pool overlooking the valley - a great soak after a day of walking in the park! Most of the staff spoke English, and Rain advised us on the best routes to take to get the most of our visit. Mei, who grew up right next door, offered us a variety of her hand-picked tea, introducing us to the local medicinal 'berry tea' (莓茶). It was a magical stay and we will be back as soon as we can! (Oh and the bed was possibly the most heavenly we have slept on!)

Perfect
GGuest UserThe boss is super nice. He takes my child to catch fish and chickens every day, and helps to pick us up when we go to scenic spots. The food at the B&B is also delicious. The vegetables are all grown by themselves, and the boss and the child catch the chickens all over the ground. The room is also very clean, and there are dehumidifiers and clothes dryers. The environment is also very good. There is a big pond in front of the door. The child caught a lot of tadpoles and plans to take them home to raise. Every day when I get bored, I ask the boss: What are we playing? What is there to play? The boss will arrange various activities. The child doesn't want to leave after playing, and says he will come again next time he has a holiday. In addition, the chicken soup, crispy fish, pickled cabbage, and the rapeseed moss grown by the boss are really delicious. Next time I have a holiday, I will come here to catch lobsters, and then try to eat all the fish and chickens raised by the boss, hahahaha

CCalogeroWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is perfectly located for visiting Zhangjiajie National Park. Being so close to the park entrance allowed us to start our hikes early in the morning, making the most of our days.
The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive throughout our stay. One young woman in particular went out of her way to make us feel welcome—she was incredibly sweet and helpful. We felt truly pampered, with thoughtful touches like complimentary fresh fruit, tea, and local sweeties.
The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after long days of exploring. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

GGuest User5 Stars – A Truly Exceptional Host!
My experience at Zishan Resort was made unforgettable thanks to the incredible hospitality of Xiao Yun. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for. His warm smile, professionalism, and genuine kindness stood out immediately.
Xiao Yun was not only attentive to every detail, but also anticipated our needs before we even asked. Whether it was helping with transportation, offering local tips, or checking in to ensure everything was perfect, his service was consistently thoughtful and sincere. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated to creating a memorable experience.
Thanks to him, our stay was smooth, relaxing, and truly enjoyable. Xiao Yun is a true asset to Zishan Resort — he embodies the very best of Chinese hospitality. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
Thank you, Xiao Yun, for everything. We will absolutely return, and we hope to see you again!

PPaowoahTraveled in December, it was nice for us as there wasn’t a lot of people. Really easy to communicate with them through Wechat. They got us a car for train station pick up and drop off. Upon arriving, someone came out to get us. It’s a flight of stairs down first (they offer to help with luggage) but would say to pack light because we were struggling. It’s a couple minutes walk to the place, I believe they have two, so depends which one they bring you to?
We got the connecting rooms via balcony. It was nice because it was two rooms and each room had its own bathroom. We were able to see the water bridge (I believe) right outside the balcony which was nice. Good thing we were just on the first floor so with our luggages, stairs wasn’t too bad. Since it was not peak season, even with the bar nearby, it was not too loud for us at night. There’s some restaurants and photoshoot shops nearby as well. We did the photoshoot store right next to this stay and it was just ok for reference, feel like you can get cheaper elsewhere.
Everything was pretty clean but there were some issues. Since it was December, it was cold. And when we first arrived, there was no hot water (just all freezing cold water). They said water heater was just cleaned or something when I asked. They said hot water should be back at night but our water when we showered wasn’t too promising. And then the heater was barely warming up the room so we were basically freezing. We took out all our jackets and all and we were still cold. Our room door to the balcony window was also broken which I was frustrated at first since it was cold, no hot water, heater not working, cold air blowing in. They eventually fixed it and I did appreciate the lady giving us portable heaters for the room to use.
Overall, I think it’s not a bad place.
AahshanTucked away in the scenic heart of Wulingyuan, Er Ya You Inn offers a cosy, authentic stay with a distinctly local charm. The inn combines traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern comfort—think wooden interiors, warm lighting, and serene mountain views from many of the rooms.
The hosts are exceptionally welcoming, often going out of their way to help with travel tips, tickets, or even home-cooked meals. Its location is ideal for exploring the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, just a short walk or drive away.
While the inn isn’t luxurious, it’s clean, atmospheric, and offers great value—perfect for travellers looking for a peaceful base to enjoy the natural wonders of the area.

Good
GGuest UserThe room is quite spacious, with a clothes drying rack, a bathtub, a projector, and even a special dressing table, as well as a small balcony where you can go out to smoke. There is also a washing machine on the fifth floor. It is located next to the river, and across the street is a snack street. It is very convenient to eat. The solid wood retro decoration in the house is stylish and very hygienic. I brought my children here and they liked it very much. I stayed here for three consecutive days. The above are secondary. The main thing is that the boss is very good! He will help you arrange the itinerary, so that you can have fun during the day and stay comfortably at night. This time I was in a hurry and only had three days. I will stay here again next time.
