We checked in quite late last night, and our housekeeper, Xiaoji, contacted us ahead of time with all the necessary information and waited for us. We were so touched! The floor heating in the room was already on, making it very warm and comfortable. We woke up to a shroud of mist, and even saw hares and marmots. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise, very rich, delicious, and the coffee was excellent. As we sat by the fireplace, sipping coffee and enjoying breakfast, the hotel manager was always attentive and helpful, even introducing us to nearby attractions. I hear the weather is most beautiful in July and August, so I'd definitely stay a couple more days next time.

Very Good

BBerrrrrrrrrWe got free upgrade to the suite so that was nice. Very pretty river view and not as noisy as some of the reviews I've read. Probably because the weather was getting chilly. Room was very spacious, even for just the size of the bedroom alone. Bed was comfortable and not too soft. But I will say that the light switches in the rooms and also the smart toilet seat were very confusing. Strangely, it had a large bathtub area, but a separate and very squished shower closet. The water didn't quite drain properly also. Breakfast was okay. But considering how the city really is just a town in the desert, I'd say it's actually pretty good. The local restaurants are also options, but we had to get up super early for day trips, and didn't feel like freezing outside to look for food when it's still dark. Side note, the night market in town is nice but not much going on outside of that area. The hotel is not in the city centre, but since the city is small, taxi is the way to go. We actually end up just getting the phone number of one of the taxi driver, and called her whenever we planned to head out. I chose the hotel based on aesthetics and was not disappointed. But our suite was in the end of a very long hallway, so get ready to walk if you are not near the elevator.

GGuest UserJust completed a wonderful three night stay at the Zhangye Holiday Inn. Perhaps most Silk Road tourists do not spend three nights in Zhangye but we wanted to visit both the popular and more “off the beaten path” historical sites nearby. This Holiday Inn is up to international standards - the staff was very professional, courteous and well trained, the rooms were modern and well-maintained, and even the buffet breakfast restaurant manager spoke English. This is probably one of the few (if not the only) more Westernized hotels in Zhangye) and we had a very good stay and experience in this hotel in Zhangye.

MMsJoyceHighly recommend! This hotel offers airport or railway station pickup free service. The hotel location is excellent and not so far for Mogaocave, the dunhuang night market, Mingsha Mountains.. The hotel room is super clean, wide, and has comfy.beds. Also, the hotel provided everything necessary Especially the hotel staff are very friendly and responsible for guests. We stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and the staff always helped us for traveling. They called a taxi for us to travel to tourist spots Even if they don't speak English , we communicate by translation application on the phone. They also bring us to pharmacy and supermarket. How they are wonderful and thankful. If we go there again, we will definitely stay there again. I traveled all over the world for 20 years, but I never met like the hotel and staff. Totally never forgetable hotel and staff. God bless forever! Thanks again!!!

GGuest UserHighly recommend this treasure hotel! The location is excellent, the surrounding transportation is convenient, and it is very close to the business district and attractions. The hotel is decorated in a high-end atmosphere, full of art, and blockbuster movies can be made in every corner. The room was spotless, the bathroom was dry and wet, and the toiletries were all well-known brands with a sense of quality. The service is impeccable, whether it is the front desk, cleaning or security staff, the attitude is particularly good, responsive, and the response speed is very fast. In the evening, I also sent warm desserts, this intimate is really moving. The price is super high, whether it is business travel or leisure travel, here is a great choice, giving five stars is too little!

LlindaruggWhat a special place! Created to look like a desert fortress with beautiful hand-woven rugs hanging in the corridor and a gorgeous mural of the Silk Road in the reception area. The terrace restaurant was a superb place for breakfast with views of the Gobi sand dunes and starry skies at night. The breakfast was enormous, just fabulous, with both Chinese and Western choices. Freshly made noodle soup and omelets and waffles… pretty much anything you could want. Friendly staff, big, well appointed rooms, superior bathroom, everything was great. The location is a little ways from the center of town, but there is a bus across the street that will take you there for two yuan. And you can walk to the right from the hotel for fifteen minutes through a bazaar to a nature site. Loved it!

EemdethuongThis hotel accepts foreigners. Location is not far from Dunhuang night market. Reception is nice and welcoming although they did not speak english. Translation app will do just fine. 100rmb deposit at check-in and they will give you back at check-out if everything is fine. Room is small, quite old and basic. Smoking is allowed inside hotel floors so it felt really suffocationg. The faucet in the bathroom did not give hot water, only the shower did. The only thing I don’t like is the AC (also heater) emitted kind of a burning smell which made the room suffocated. I turned on for a while and turned off in order to sleep safely.

The staff are ready to provide information and guidance. Beside the hotel, there is a restaurant and Shazhou Night Market is 60 meters away. Convenience for shopping for local foods, souvenirs, and etc. Next to Shazhou Night Market is the Dunhuang Bazzar, where more 50 eatery stalls are available. Visitors are spolit for choices of food and it operates till midnight. Will stay at this hotel in our next visit to Dunhuang.

After arriving at the hotel, I found that the front desk was very enthusiastic and the room was very cozy. Very affordable and great value for money with all the helpful front staff to housekeeping. Just around the corner is the street food with lots of restaurants n the Shahzhou nite Market is just 15 minutes walk away. I highly recommend anyone wishing to come to Dunhuang seeking reasonable and quality accommodation to stay here.
