Perfect location with a view of Mt. Fuji right outside our window. The ryokan style accommodation was simple but very comfortable. The management was very trusting of their guests. You could purchase anything that is on sale and leave the money in a money box. They also provided free transfers to and from kawaguchiko bus station from 9 am. But because our bus to Kofu was going to leave at 9 am they were kind enough to drop us at 8:30am. We were very grateful.
If I could suggest any improvement it would be to have a bathroom in all blocks. Right now it’s only in blockB and one has to walk a short distance from the other blocks to have a bath. They could also provide a change of towels after a few days. It’s all right if you’re doing a short stay but not if you’re staying for a week or more with no towel change. But all said we would return to this hotel if we went back to Kawaguchiko.
The hotel offers a beautiful lakeside view directly in front of Lake Shoji, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout the stay. Although the property is quite old, it is well maintained and full of charming vintage Japanese character. The service was warm and attentive, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious.
The location is especially convenient for travelers driving around the Fuji area, with easy access and a comfortable overall experience. We also reserved a private onsen for bathing, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Please note that the room itself did not include a shower — only a toilet — but this matched the traditional Japanese-style ryokan experience.
Overall, this hotel is highly recommended for travelers seeking an authentic, nostalgic Japanese atmosphere with beautiful scenery and genuine hospitality.
The host was amazing, and the views were absolutely stunning! Loved it, highly recommend to everyone. I accidentally left my phone on the bus and couldn't communicate with the staff, but the hostess helped us out big time, which was super nice of her! 👍
I chose it based on price.
I didn't know what room type I would be staying in, so I didn't know what to prepare. Unless you're looking for a more expensive accommodation plan, it's probably best to assume that the facilities are the bare minimum.
The lack of a refrigerator, microwave, or toilet was a surprise.
You can't borrow a microwave, so be careful.
Otherwise, you can manage by staying far away or spending money.
The staff were very helpful.
Cell phone reception may be poor depending on the carrier. I had trouble connecting sometimes.
Excellent location near Yamanaka lake. Fuji is not able yo be seen from this spot but it is good place to escape from the crowd. The cottages are clean and big enough with all the necessary items you need.
The place is clean and spacious, the service attitude is good, and the food quality is first-class. However, the shuttle bus was 20ms late and the facilities were not complete enough.
It's 20 minutes from Kawaguchiko Train Station. The cabins are very nice, and the place is very quiet, away from the noise. You can rent a bicycle and go for a ride to the village and see the beautiful view of Mount Fuji. They have a restaurant in the hotel. I went alone, but it's also perfect if you're accompanied. The man and woman are very kind and nice. They treat you wonderfully. I had to return a day before my departure, but they did me the favor of taking me to the train station—such a kind and beautiful gesture that showcased the human side and culture of Japan. It has a beautiful view of the lake, and there you can organize more tours around the village. Thank you for everything.
I usually go camping, but I thought it would be a bad idea to judge something before I've tried it, so I tried glamping for the first time.
I was very satisfied with my stay in terms of location, cleanliness, food, and how the staff treated me. Two meals were included, but dinner in particular was so much that you would have had to be really hungry to finish it.
The toilets and inside the tents were also very clean, and even though it was a cold winter stay, the heating was on and it was very comfortable.
The staff were also friendly, and I brought my dog with me, so thank you for treating him so kindly.
I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity. Thank you.
A very cozy and clean Japanese-style house. It has two bedrooms, two toilets, a living room, a bathroom, and a washing machine. The facilities are fully equipped, so you can easily buy ingredients and cook for yourself. The brand-new bathroom is very clean and has a heating system, so you don't have to worry about catching a cold. There's a small shopping mall not far away, making shopping and buying groceries very convenient. It's perfect for families traveling by car.
