Pet Friendly Hotels in Oita Prefecture, Japan

I almost didn’t book this because there wasn’t an en-suite bathroom (there’s a sink & WC though) but so glad I didn’t miss out on this gem of a ryokan! The decor was modern Japanese chic, the service was super friendly and the location was insane - less than a minute to the shopping street from the side lane! I booked a river view but I feel any room would have a good view. As for not having an en-suite bathroom, the private onsen more than made up for it!

We booked two rooms, and both hot springs were outdoors. It was a unique experience to soak in the hot spring while looking at the mountains and forests. A few steps away was the forest, and there were deer. The breakfast and dinner were also very rich, and the kaiseki cuisine was colorful and high quality. The only thing was that there was a noticeable sound at night, which seemed to be the sound of wild animals. I asked the store owner, it might be a weasel... In short, it was a very good experience in a natural hot spring hotel.

Our ryokanl booking came with sukiyaki dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed the dinner very much but had to skip the breakfast due to our tight schedule. The ryokan had a cosy atmosphere, almost as if like we were staying at a good friend's house. There were a few cute and friendly cats which were mostly hanging around the courtyard and reception area. Nice onsen private onsen baths. Wished that the ryokan had provided luggage stands for us to put our luggages instead of us having to place our luggages on the floor and on the sofa.

It's exactly the same as the picture. I was a little worried because there were no reviews, but it's a bit of an ambiguous distance to walk from Yufuin Station, but the facilities were very clean and the owner responded quickly. There were dishes and cooking utensils, and it was possible to bring dogs, so there were dog pads and pet supplies on one side. The private room had hot water 24 hours a day, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The four of us, my mother-in-law, my wife, and my baby, went there and had a great rest.

The pick-up service responded immediately via Gmail, so it was convenient to take me there, and the service was very friendly. The private bath in the accommodation was great, and the view was so pretty! You can eat kaiseki in a private room, and the taste, service, and sake were all the best. It was so convenient that they even took you back. A place I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area! It was the best. *The puppy is cute (Name: Hei-chan)

The location is very convenient - close to the station and the bus terminal. The staff is friendly and polite. The room was clean (it was very small, but it was enough for me, because I was alone), the view from the window was pleasing) Cleaning was done once a day (with replacement of yukata, towels, toiletries and trash removal). Three onsen - on the 1st, 3rd floors and on the roof. I visited two - on the roof (it is VERY hot, but it was still great! Photo No. 2) and on the 3rd floor (it is also essentially in the open air, not as hot and also great, photos No. 3 and 4). Reservation of the time to visit the onsen was upon check-in (plus from a certain time all onsens worked as public, with free access). P.s. The local cats are adorable! 😊

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the accommodation was fantastic. We arrived at night, and the walk there felt a little eerie, but I imagine a bus would be fine during the day. We spent the day exploring Lake Kinrin and then made sure to get to the *sotbap* (hot pot rice) restaurant right opposite as soon as it opened. We also enjoyed the hot spring both in the evening and again in the morning – it was absolutely wonderful!

This is a ryokan I found while looking for a place to stay within walking distance from Yufuin Station. I went there as a family of 3 and was so satisfied that I still highly praise it even after coming back to Korea. ㅎㅎ Advantages: Location within walking distance from the station / No need to worry about dinner or breakfast / There is an Aeon Mart + Daiso nearby if you walk / The hot springs are not bad either. When we went there, we were the only Koreans and the rest were local family groups. So we were able to eat in a separate space so that we could eat quietly and comfortably. It was also great that we could drink alcohol that we bought outside (we brought our own disposable cups. ㅎㅎ) We enjoyed the hot springs once on the day we arrived and once the next morning. I want to go there again next time I come to Yufuin~

Lovely authentic Japanese house in beautiful country side. The owner is a nice man who speaks good English and takes good care of the house. In addition to the shared bathroom, kitchen and living room, that there are 3 rooms with futon beds, separated by a thin paper wall. Each room can host 2 to 3 guests. If rooms are full, you can hear everything as if there was no separation. I could literally hear people whispering. The owner offered me to use a scooter for free during my 2 days stay, which is awesome. There are some nice hikes to do in the area. The hike along the river to the Inukai JR station 15km away was amazing (there are closer JR stations). You'll love this place if you are looking for an authentic experience in a quiet rural setting.
