It may be that most of the motorcycles in Athens are modified, and the hotel is located on the main road, so it is quite noisy both during the day and at night. In addition, during the National Day holiday, I feel that it is not as cost-effective as the nearly 3K per night.
The hotel is very clean and the waiters are very considerate. My husband caught a cold and had a fever on the second day after checking in. The hotel staff took the initiative to call and ask if he needed help. On the last day of checkout, they also asked if he had recovered. There are also a variety of beautiful desserts in the hotel lobby for guests to taste. The hotel is also very conveniently located. It is within walking distance to various important attractions. There are also many restaurants and bars nearby. It is worth mentioning that the hotel's breakfast is very delicious. If you come to Athens again, the dolli is definitely the best choice!
We recently stayed here and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment wr arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was great, close to everything we wanted to see and do. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choices. I highly recommend staying here for a comfortable and enjoyable stay while in Greece. There are a maze of options but you will do yourself a favour by staying here.

Stay one night there, nice location to all the tourists spots. Can store luggage but not in a room or a private space. The last day morning before checkout, the electricity and water supply ran out without reason, we just messaged the reception but no response.

The hotel has a postcard-like view. The average-tasting white meals and the same old breakfast options (fried eggs, scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, omelettes, steamed eggs...) are simply the Auschwitz of eggs. But believe me, when you enjoy all this in the morning breeze of the Aegean Sea and the sunset, you will forgive everything. The hotel has a Michelin restaurant, but it does not accept children under 12 years old, so we were unable to go. I recommend the hotel's Restaurant 37, which is like Yao Ming among dwarfs and Liu Xiang among lame legs. But if I come to Athens again, I will bring my Master Kong beef noodles and stay at the Royal Palace Four Seasons again, because the moment you arrive at the hotel lobby, you will understand the tenderness and gentleness of the Aegean Sea.
Had a few hours between connecting flights from Athens airport, so booking a night at the Sofitel was the best option to avoid non-hotel room surprises and miscommunication with apartment owners after a 14 hour flight. The distance from the terminal gates was literally across the street which was what I had hoped for.
The cons:
I came in with a 25Kg suitcase which was visually apparently heavy after a long flight and the hotel booked me the farthest room on my floor. Ok, no big deal. I’m young and strong.
The first thing I wanted to do was just lie down on the bed to unwind after a long flight. I pulled up the tucked blanket to find that the bed sheets were stained near the pillows. Not something I would expect from a luxury hotel. Now I’m thinking if the sheets were even clean and what was the nature of the stains. Being extremely tired, I let it go and slept far from the stains.
Went to take a shower. Two minutes in, I noticed the water not draining and water level rising. Had to shorten my shower time and abort with soapy feet to let the water drain before flooding the shower.
Exited the room in the morning for my flight and noticed that the door was actually not locked while I was sleeping because the latch was stuck in the door.
I feel that I would have just left the hotel a note on the shower and door and not write this review but the stained bed cover is unacceptable for the price I paid.
The environment is really average, although it is not in the rich area in the north. The hotel room is much smaller than the domestic one; but it is very warm; because the cocomat is the furniture, the bedding and toiletries are not bad. The service is still very good. Overall 4 star recommendation
Beautiful place to relax. Good breakfast. Amazing view.

GGuest UserThis is the perfect hotel for someone who’s spending a bit more time in Athens since it has a fridge, laundry machine, etc. really nice stay, clean and comfy, would def come back
GGuest UserVery good experience! The front desk is friendly. She upgraded me to a double bed, even though I live alone. There's a bar and jacuzzi on the roof.
Bath supplies are complete. Eye masks and earplugs are also provided. The decor is vintage and tasteful, with a record and a record player in the room. Breakfast dishes are extensive, with Greek yogurt and honey as well as Greek salad and feta, which are delicious.
GGuest UserGreat location as all main tourist sites (including Kerameikos and Filopappou Hill) were walkable - also outside the main tourist area, which was a plus. Roof terrace also pleasant at the end of the day.
Hotel facilities are limited: WiFi, internet tv only (on mine you had to log in with your own details), aircon, tea/coffee, free bottled water. Cold breakfast option (set price of €10 - not €8 as shown on the website). Airport pick-up is now also €50 (more than shown currently on website).
Rooms modern but.mine was starting to look slightly tired. In theory it was a ‘suite’ suitable for four (two small rooms) but this would have been extremely cramped, particularly as each room had only a ‘space saver’ type wardrobe ie. wardrobe rail coming out from the wall with a mirror in front and no other storage and a sofa bed in the ‘living room’.
Despite the website description of each room with (only) a power shower, mine had a shower over the bath.
Service was average: front desk tried to be helpful but local knowledge was lacking. Bed was made each day, but tea/coffee/water were not refreshed and used glasses and mugs were not cleaned. Despite this, towels WERE refreshed daily and there was no option (card or other mechanism) to get this stopped. I was surprised: it seems that saving water and energy had passed the hotel by entirely.
In conclusion: compared to other prices and areas of Athens I paid a reasonable amount, but given the reviews had expected more from the hotel, although I couldn’t honestly say that it was bad, just ‘average’.

PPuay Teck OngThe exterior of the hotel look inviting; however when we walked through the front door you can feel the heavy curtain around the lobby have not been clean for long time. All the sofa in the lobby are covered with some sort of clothes I guess it is to cover the old and uninviting sight. The check in process was straight forward and friendly.
None of the light on the stairs are working and I had to use the flash light on my phone to light a path up and down the stairs, could be dangerous if you need to evacuate the hotel quickly.
The room door has key card slot but I guess it is broken as I needed a physical key to unlock the room door and a keycard to turn on the electricity, the room size is good and high ceiling. The bathroom has no hook for the handheld shower head so not so convenient to have a shower, the water also not always hot enough.
The air conditioner was blowing warm air even though the dial was set to cold and it made the room so more warmer and uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel reviews seem to suggest this is one of the common issue people has been complaining about for more than 10 years!!!! I ended up open all the windows to cool the room down and this invited traffic noise all night long.
The hotel has been neglected for way too many years and surprisingly still in business????
EElizabethPros: well-maintained place, friendly staff, amazing breakfast, nice rooftop views.
Cons: unfortunately, enough that I wouldn’t stay here again.
- The neighborhood is not the safest area, especially at night.
- The hotel has no control over the cigarette smoking. Supposedly it is a non-smoking hotel, but I constantly had the smell of cigarettes coming into my room at all hours, even after mentioning it to the front desk. Friends in other parts of the hotel and on other floors experienced this too, and we were there a week.
- The amenities are closed in the off season, and this was not disclosed at booking. (Pool, jacuzzi, rooftop bar, etc.)
- Unless you book a deluxe room with a view, you will be in a black box with no natural light, facing a building with broken windows.
- The light design of the rooms is impractical, especially the swinging neon light in the bathroom, which blinds you and makes it impossible to look in the mirror for more than a few moments at a time. There are a million switches to turn things on and spotlight overheads that don’t provide enough light.
GGuest UserLocation is great for multi purposes. Lots of food and coffee shops around . Walking distance to art, music and history places. Great for visits to Evaggelismos hospital. Need upgrade the hair dryer and the fridge also needs to be programmed to be a bit cooler than it is. Clean but the bathroom floor needed a bit more effort (!) - the hose of the hair dryer too, Towels smelled strongly of disinfectant , made you feel safe but not pleasant. Neutral breakfast, basic actually, not for picky eaters but satisfying a hungry stomach. Tv was not offering movies' rental. Wi fi really good for streaming. Helpful staff both front desk , dinning room attendants and handyman/housekeeping. Great touch the sage from Crete at the coffee tray. Toiletries offered a body balm - not bad at all
GGuest UserAmazing hotel right in the center of Athens and so much shopping and restaurants around you. The staff were all amazing and for sure I am coming back to this hotel next time. Special thanks Maria she was soo awesome and welcoming . Also, to the hotel manger Charis. Everyone is amazing in this hotel. Thank you guys !
GGuest UserAmazing hotel! The personnel working here from the reception to the housekeeping - very helpful, warm and always with smiles! Location is superb! Walking to Acropolis and Plaka. Nearby there are lots of eateries, cafes, mini markets. Room is super clean and they even care for small details such as facial makeup remover wipes and earbuds in case you are a super light sleeper. There is a very good coffee machine and choices of teas too. When the housekeeper saw that we had two bottles of wines she even cared to put two wine glasses after the first cleaning. Another plus point is the amazing view of Acropolis from the Level 5 Terrace! They even provide a corner at the lobby - coffee machine and an airfryer for guests use! Really care for small details but it means a lot. We stayed for 5N and never regretted it! Thank you KONIAMA ACROPOLIS! ❤️ Definitely will be back again and staying longer!
GGuest UserAs there was not enough information offered to arrive at the apartment, we were dragging our luggages from train station all the way up to the apartment. It took quite a bit of effort with our luggages and the uphill walking. This is not a nice encounter, that said, we were greeted by a nice manager who has waited for us till quite late. The apartment is lovely, bed is comfortable, linen and towels were top quality. It may be great to have a slightly larger bathroom / toilet as the glass door of the shower compartment kept banging against the toilet bowl. We were welcomed by a big cockroach in the bathroom but we managed to flash it down the toilet ! Finally, I have just received an invoice for Euro 1.50 per day and its in Greek and I was being charged without knowing what it was.
