Oh, surprisingly, they readily allowed me to check in early!! I am very satisfied with this alone👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻My flight was delayed by more than 3 hours, so I was really tired, but they let me check in early in the morning, so I was able to breathe a sigh of relief. It was so nice to go to the Acropolis and come back~ If you pay by card, you will be charged 2.45 EUR including VAT for accommodation~ The air conditioner and refrigerator were also cool on a hot day~ The only regret was that the space in front of the toilet in the bathroom was too narrow. I think it was because I booked the cheapest room. In terms of location, it was very convenient because the bus stop number 12 was just 1 minute away. My trip to Jordan was canceled, so I suddenly came to Athens as a base for a day, and I was able to rest comfortably with the early check-in. Thank you again for the early check-in.

The room is clean and sanitary, much better than expected. The kitchen, tableware, refrigerator and everything else are very complete. Drinking water is provided!!! nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Family room, the room is about 15 square meters, clean, comfortable, breakfast variety is slightly less, the surrounding environment is excellent, 5 minutes walk to the seaside park, the Aegean Sea is unimaginable, too comfortable

It was the first time I stayed in the hotel and it was a wonderful stay I was in the room 402 days the only thing I wanted you to be responsible for is how much the bottom of the door was a little damaged and it didn't close easily I pointed it out to the girls who were very kind when they were cleaning and I think that they will take care of it and fix it for their next bookings otherwise everything was great in this hotel including the spa which I had treatment and the girls were very kind and of course the restaurant which I also attended for a pie cutting it had very kind people and very good food

Review for NYX Esperia Palace Athens – Luxurious Stay with a Few Caveats
We stayed at NYX Esperia Palace Athens for four full days – two couples, each in an Executive Suite with access to the business lounge.
The welcome was warm and efficient, and we received our rooms exactly at 3:00 PM, as per hotel policy. The suites were clean, stylish, and well-equipped with amenities such as disposable toothbrushes, shaving kits, loofahs, a hairdryer, and more. One of our suites, located on the 7th floor, even had a partial view of the Acropolis, which was a lovely bonus.
The room’s climate, lighting, and curtains were all operated through digital controls, designed to pamper guests — although, in practice, they were not very intuitive and required a bit of trial and error. For instance, turning off the bedside light required getting up and walking to a control panel.
The TV included Israeli channels (11, 12, and 13), which we appreciated. Breakfast on the 10th floor was excellent, offering a wide variety of high-quality options, and the waiter service was above average.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional care provided by Ilia, the hotel's Public Relations Manager. She guided us almost from the moment we arrived until we left — recommending excellent tavernas, booking taxis, restaurants, and arranging a private guided tour. On our last day, we were also warmly greeted by Dionysia in the lounge — charming and attentive.
That said, there were some drawbacks:
Reception service was inconsistent – not all staff members were welcoming; some appeared cold or offered forced smiles.
The business lounge was disappointing – small, crowded, with modest food and drink offerings and uninspiring seating. It felt more like a repurposed room than a proper lounge.
The pools require advance reservation, with no room for spontaneity. Usage hours are segmented (e.g., 1–4 PM or 4–7 PM), and spots after 7 PM are very limited. The rooftop pool area is crowded, and the adjacent restaurant is also open to non-guests.
Rooftop restaurant experience: One evening we returned from a night out and hoped to enjoy a drink with a view. Although two front-row tables overlooking the Acropolis were available, we were initially told they were reserved. Minutes later, we were informed we could sit there for a €25 minimum spend per person. The sudden shift from ”reserved” to ”available for a price” was off-putting — especially as hotel guests staying in suites.
The guided tour recommended by the hotel involved nearly 4 hours of driving during a 5-hour trip, leaving us with very little time at each stop. We suggest skipping it.
Bottom line:
The hotel is modern, very clean, and the suites are luxurious. Service is mostly excellent, particularly thanks to Ilia and Dionysia. However, don't count on spontaneous access to the pool or rooftop restaurant — enjoying those requires planning ahead, much like booking a theater show. If you value well-designed suites and structured experiences, this hotel may be a great fit. If you’re looking for flexibility and full-day pampering from hotel facilities — you might find it a bit limiting.
Great location, nice staffers. But the building is a bit old, the doors are a bit stuck so you have to try hard to open/ shut them. Also even tho its in a great area next to so many bars and cinemas, the walk up to the hotel could be brutal in a hot summer day.
We recently stayed here and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment wr arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was great, close to everything we wanted to see and do. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choices. I highly recommend staying here for a comfortable and enjoyable stay while in Greece. There are a maze of options but you will do yourself a favour by staying here.

Very nice hotel standing with an effort of design and services. The location is very good, central but far from the noise, some rooms will be quiet as they overlook the inner courtyard.
Great welcome, welcoming place too. The rooms are well decorated and well equipped, coffee machine, kettle, tea, fridge, etc. very good. Small problem for the breakfast which was long in coming, although plentiful. But a lot of things don't have flavors (the omelet was dry and tasteless) or don't suit everyone's taste (donuts with artificial sugar topping, no thanks), way too much flour stuffing. The orange juice had to be fresh, elsewhere I found it more fruity and sweet, here it seemed to come out of a brick. In addition, the space is large, pretty because it is at the top, but very noisy, especially since the hotel welcomes a family clientele.
Nevertheless pleasant stay, I highly recommend even if the price is high compared to Athens where you can find the same but cheaper.

KKRISTAAmazing place, central, great facilities! Would stay here again! Clean, great staff
GGuest UserVery good experience! The front desk is friendly. She upgraded me to a double bed, even though I live alone. There's a bar and jacuzzi on the roof.
Bath supplies are complete. Eye masks and earplugs are also provided. The decor is vintage and tasteful, with a record and a record player in the room. Breakfast dishes are extensive, with Greek yogurt and honey as well as Greek salad and feta, which are delicious.
GGuest UserThe property is average, definitely clean and located in a strategic area. It is located 900 meters from the Agora and the beautiful neighborhoods of Monastiraki and Plaka.
SSokratis MoutidisPerfect for a Short Stay Near the Airport
The location is excellent if you have a short layover or need to stay near the airport. The rooms are comfortable, well-equipped, and offer the quality you expect from Sofitel. Despite being right next to the airport, the hotel is surprisingly quiet, ensuring a restful stay. Highly recommended for transit travelers!
GGuest UserWe had an incredible stay at Acropolis Magenta Luxury Suites! The staff was extremely attentive and made our check-in extra special by surprising us with champagne for my girlfriend’s birthday. The location is perfect, making it easy to explore the area, and everything was spotless. The service was outstanding, and the amenities were top-notch. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway
PPuay Teck OngThe exterior of the hotel look inviting; however when we walked through the front door you can feel the heavy curtain around the lobby have not been clean for long time. All the sofa in the lobby are covered with some sort of clothes I guess it is to cover the old and uninviting sight. The check in process was straight forward and friendly.
None of the light on the stairs are working and I had to use the flash light on my phone to light a path up and down the stairs, could be dangerous if you need to evacuate the hotel quickly.
The room door has key card slot but I guess it is broken as I needed a physical key to unlock the room door and a keycard to turn on the electricity, the room size is good and high ceiling. The bathroom has no hook for the handheld shower head so not so convenient to have a shower, the water also not always hot enough.
The air conditioner was blowing warm air even though the dial was set to cold and it made the room so more warmer and uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel reviews seem to suggest this is one of the common issue people has been complaining about for more than 10 years!!!! I ended up open all the windows to cool the room down and this invited traffic noise all night long.
The hotel has been neglected for way too many years and surprisingly still in business????
GGuest UserStaff was very attentive and responded in a very professional and efficient manner. They resolved all problems and were very gracious. Beautiful roof top restaurant with a wonderful pool.
The only issue we had was that the shower head in our bathroom was in the middle of the shower therefore sprinkling water against the curtain and leaking into the bathroom….a simple fix.
EElizabethPros: well-maintained place, friendly staff, amazing breakfast, nice rooftop views.
Cons: unfortunately, enough that I wouldn’t stay here again.
- The neighborhood is not the safest area, especially at night.
- The hotel has no control over the cigarette smoking. Supposedly it is a non-smoking hotel, but I constantly had the smell of cigarettes coming into my room at all hours, even after mentioning it to the front desk. Friends in other parts of the hotel and on other floors experienced this too, and we were there a week.
- The amenities are closed in the off season, and this was not disclosed at booking. (Pool, jacuzzi, rooftop bar, etc.)
- Unless you book a deluxe room with a view, you will be in a black box with no natural light, facing a building with broken windows.
- The light design of the rooms is impractical, especially the swinging neon light in the bathroom, which blinds you and makes it impossible to look in the mirror for more than a few moments at a time. There are a million switches to turn things on and spotlight overheads that don’t provide enough light.
GGuest UserLocation is great for multi purposes. Lots of food and coffee shops around . Walking distance to art, music and history places. Great for visits to Evaggelismos hospital. Need upgrade the hair dryer and the fridge also needs to be programmed to be a bit cooler than it is. Clean but the bathroom floor needed a bit more effort (!) - the hose of the hair dryer too, Towels smelled strongly of disinfectant , made you feel safe but not pleasant. Neutral breakfast, basic actually, not for picky eaters but satisfying a hungry stomach. Tv was not offering movies' rental. Wi fi really good for streaming. Helpful staff both front desk , dinning room attendants and handyman/housekeeping. Great touch the sage from Crete at the coffee tray. Toiletries offered a body balm - not bad at all
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in central Athens, 6 min walk from a metro station (40 minutes trip to the airport by metro, 9 EUR fare). The hotel decoration is great, the reception staff is courteous, friendly and efficient. Maria and Ana were excellent hostesses in this area. The room was clean and well taken care of. The only issue was a slight smell coming from the drains in the shower room. The bed was confortable and I enjoyed a very good rest.
There is a terrance in the 5th floor open 24 hours with a very nice view of the Acropolis, which is actually 20 minutes walk from the hotel.
I did not eat on the premises. However, there is a very nice Greek restaurant in the corner, where the staff was very helpful with the menu.
I found a bit annoying the attitude of the doormen. You are questioned every time you want to get into the hotel. As the doormen do not wear uniforms, you do not even know that they are staff members. They should be more corteous.
Overall, it was a very good experience and I will certainly look at this hotel when I visit Athens again.
