We chose this hotel, about a 30-minute drive from home, for a one-night stay so the kids could go swimming. They were so excited before we even left. After checking in, we rushed to the pool, only to be told that children weren't allowed after 6 PM and could only use it after 9 AM the next morning. However, check-out was at 11 AM, which left very little time. So, I contacted Trip.com customer service to request a late check-out. During the first call, the hotel said they would charge £10 per hour for late check-out. We expressed our dissatisfaction, and thanks to Trip.com's proactive coordination, the hotel finally agreed to a free two-hour late check-out for both rooms. The kids had a fantastic time the next morning, which was a huge plus. The hotel is newly renovated, and the overall facilities are quite good for a UK hotel. Dinner was also decent, though the steak was a bit disappointing. Luckily, the waitstaff were very friendly and didn't charge us for it. IHG's service philosophy was generally well-reflected. However, the hotel seemed a bit understaffed. There were only two people at the front desk, so checking in required a bit of a wait. After check-in, no one showed us to our rooms, and the layout was a bit confusing, making it easy to get lost. I hope the hotel can improve in this area in the future. Also, it would be even more appealing if they could add some family-friendly room types.

Nice relaxing place, beautiful garden. Only issue I had no water available at night. Vending machine cash only. Rest of hotel card only. Reception staff were not helpful. Could not offer a glass of water. Disappointed.

Located on part of the Birmingham University campus in Edgbaston so good location for academic conferences / visiting the university, also short distance to dental hospital, cricket ground, tennis centre etc. Plenty of free parking including blue badge and EV charging. Check-in was quick and efficient. Angela, who checked us in, was friendly and helpful. There is a large bar which serves smaller meals throughout the day and also a restaurant in the evening. The bar food was average price for hotel food (£12+ for sandwich with some soup)  and average quality. Room was clean and tidy, with modern decor. It was very spacious and well equipped with seating and table, ironing board, plenty of pillows, pod coffee machine and plenty of coffee pods, tea bags etc. Black out blinds worked well and there was minimal noise from other rooms / corridor. Would definitely stay again if in the Edgebaston / Birmingham area.

It was really an amazing experience at the DoubleTree Hotel. The location was not hard to locate. The environment was so clean and tidy. The receptionist welcomed us with a warm smile. The room was well furnished with daily needs. We love our stay there and will surely recommend it to our friends and family.

I live local, but due o having housework done and me being disabled, I was advised it would be beneficial for me to be out of the house for a few days. I picked Double Tree Hilton as they were offering the best price. I'm so glad I did. The staff could not do enough for you, especially Wendy, she is such an amazing lady, my 10 year old son said to me how amazing and helpful Wendy was and that says it all.

Used the hotel for one night as we were departing early from the airport the following morning. We used the train as mode of transport and the hotel was a short walk from Birmingham International. We didn't use the Air shuttle. Found it quite confusing to get to the entrance to the Hotel and had to walk by it to cross the busy road further on. We arrived a little early to check in but made use of the comfortable bar and had drinks at standard hotel prices. Easy check in and the room was just what we needed. Quick change and then out for an early evening meal at the near by resorts world. Through the NEC complex. Early night as we had to vacate at 3 am. All in all a pleasant experience and like an extra days holiday. Short walk to the departures next day so an ideal location.

It's a nice hotel but you have to remember that a lot of people book this hotel as a wedding venue. We stayed from Friday to Sunday and the first night was awful. There was a wedding going on and the music was so loud and didn't stop until 12.15am and then it took another half an hour for the very noisy, drunk guest to leave. On Saturday there was another wedding but this time the type of people were different and so there was no loud music and I hardly heard the people leaving. My room was a family room in the coach house. Sunday morning some builders started work in the coach house at 8 am which I was not happy about so I told them and they stopped. Another thing was the lift not working so my elderly Mum found it really hard walking up to the second floor. However, the hotel was able to give us a ground floor room which wasn't a family room but we managed to squeeze in a single bed. The staff were great and the breakfast was decent.

My recent stay was undoubtedly an exquisite journey that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, every detail exuded quality and thoughtfulness, making for a truly delightful and relaxing experience. The hotel's location is simply perfect. It's nestled in a vibrant part of the city, offering convenient transportation and a full array of amenities nearby, yet cleverly tucked away from the bustling main streets, creating a tranquil sanctuary. It's an ideal choice for both business travelers and leisure seekers. Stepping into the guest room, the spacious and bright interior, coupled with elegant decor, immediately captivated me. The bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, and the pillows were just right, providing a sublime sleep experience for a weary traveler. The bathroom featured a separate wet and dry area, and the high-quality toiletries made for a refreshing and pleasant shower. The in-room smart amenities were user-friendly, allowing easy control over lighting, curtains, and temperature, showcasing both modern technology and thoughtful design. Daily housekeeping was meticulous, not only keeping the environment spotless but also thoughtfully tidying belongings and replenishing drinks. The occasional handwritten greeting card added an extra touch of warmth. In terms of dining, the hotel also earned a perfect score. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring local specialties like the delicious [specific snack name], alongside exquisite Western pastries and freshly prepared egg dishes. The ingredients were fresh, and the taste was superb. Dinner at the hotel's [restaurant name] was equally impressive; the dishes were beautifully plated, and the cooking techniques were masterful. The staff's professional and thorough explanation of the dishes and wine pairings was particularly memorable. The service team was truly the highlight of this stay. The front desk staff were genuinely friendly, and check-in was efficient and seamless. They were also able to offer personalized itinerary suggestions based on guests' needs. The concierge team was professional and enthusiastic, assisting with itinerary planning and vehicle bookings. What touched me most was when a room service attendant, upon learning I had a slight cold, proactively brought me ginger tea. This unexpected act of kindness made me feel incredibly warm and cared for. Furthermore, the hotel's leisure facilities are excellent. The gym is well-equipped, the pool water is crystal clear, and the spa center offers professional treatments, making them perfect places to relax and unwind. The business center features advanced equipment, and the meeting rooms provide a quiet environment, catering to the diverse needs of guests. All in all, with its prime location, comfortable guest rooms, delicious dining options, and exceptional service quality, the hotel created an unforgettable stay for me. It's not just a temporary stop on a journey, but something that genuinely enhances the entire travel experience. I will definitely return in the future and highly recommend it to my friends.

The room was pretty quiet. I stayed on the basement level, so there was no window, but since I was only there for one night to sleep, it didn't bother me. The bedding and bathroom were very clean, and there was a door curtain. The bed was quite soft. Having the toilet and shower right in the room was very convenient. There was also a full-length mirror and a vanity table in the room. The front desk offered free, very fresh lemonade! However, my bedside lamp was broken and hadn't been repaired; it squeaked all night, which really affected my sleep. I've told them and hope it gets fixed soon.

I booked it for three night as I had some business in the area. Due to a recent bad experience with a budget hotel, i though might have a better value for the higher price. I was wrong. Very mediocre service, small room, funky odour, and limited amenities. For the anount I paid i expected a better value. Staff were helpful though.

Very pleasant stay.. pub restaurant offered info on food allergies. Food was great. Rooms (I rebooked) were great, bath and shower that actually did what they said… no getting soaked trying to turn on shower. As a single female traveller, felt safe. Will rebook next visit . Staff are friendly and helpful.
