I recently stayed at the Britannia Hotel in Manchester and wanted to share my thoughts.
Location:
The location is definitely one of the hotel’s strongest points. It’s super accessible to all forms of transport, whether you’re arriving by train, bus, or tram. It’s right in the city center, so you can easily explore Manchester without much hassle.
Parking:
The parking arrangement is convenient if you’re driving, especially with free parking between 8 pm and 8 am. Outside of those hours, you’ll need to pay, so keep that in mind if you’re staying for longer stretches.
Hotel Condition:
This is where the hotel shows its age. The building is very old, and while it has some charm, it could definitely use an upgrade. You can feel the wear and tear in the common areas and some of the rooms.
Rooms:
The rooms are a mixed bag. The basic rooms are just that—basic. They’re not particularly comfortable, and if you’re picky about where you sleep, you might feel underwhelmed. However, if you go for one of the upgraded rooms, the experience is much better. Those rooms feel cleaner and more inviting.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is a solid deal at just £9. It’s not a luxury spread, but it gets the job done. You’ll find the usual options for a budget-friendly hotel breakfast.
Staff:
The staff are a highlight of the hotel. They’re very kind and helpful, making you feel welcome from check-in to check-out.
Value for Money:
Overall, this is a budget-friendly hotel, so you do get what you pay for. If you’re looking for a no-frills place to stay in a central location and don’t mind the dated vibe, it works. However, if comfort and modern amenities are a priority, you might want to explore other
I'm a regular stayer...all staff no me...but this time there was a lady...eho was asking me to pay again....when I already paid via trip.com... there were other customers waiting...she had no idea of data protection...she said. The price of how much I paid online and she said room number out loud...haha...

A great hotel. The only thing stopping us from giving it 5 stars is the fact it was difficult to get down one side of the bed-awkward during the night. And the tea and coffee amenities are at a shared station on each floor, but it took us 3 floors to find a cup. Otherwise a great hotel in a very central location with good facilities.

We had the window room, price is fantastic, room is big and clean, TV is very big, double the size that the usual hotel room has, bathroom big and clean like new, fan, hairdryer, kettle and tea/coffee. Location is fantastic, right in the middle of centre, lots of shops around, less than 10mins walk to Chinatown. Free newspaper available. Drink and snack vending machine at the lift available. But because the location is in the city, the room is bit noisy during the night. There some free postcard of the hotel at the lobby too.

The hotel is very new and the facilities are very modern, which makes the room clean and tidy. The hotel is also in an excellent location and has very convenient transportation in the center of Manchester.

Best location for a night out in SpinningFields. 1 minute walk from everywhere we went. 12pm checkout which is better than most places we’ve stayed. Another Bonus is that you get a code to get 50% off your carpark. £15 for 24hrs was worth it as only 5-6 minute walk from hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, we even got a welcome drink on arrival. 100% recommend.

Perfectly clean and in a great location. Rooms are quite basic and small with no fridge and paper cups. There’s also no desk/dressing table and only one chair to sit in. I think the website makes it seem more luxury than it is. However, staff were friendly and our room was well cleaned every day. The hotel foyer is very nice and it’s so close to the restaurants, bars, shopping and tram.

Room was so clean. Location was excellent. Only issue was we keep waking up due to the squeaky floors and the noise of footsteps from outside our room as it was so loud. However, it was a really nice place to stay for a holiday. Comfy room! Will come back! ✨⭐️

AAdventure BuddyWe love this hotel’s style and design, very beautiful. It’s close to the train station and is in city centre. The room is a bit small than expected, so its a bit overpriced. Just book the normal/ standard room is fine next time i guess.
GGuest UserThis is an amazing hotel great location right in the centre near the shops a short walk from couple of train stations. Very friendly and polite staff nothing was too much trouble we were able to drop our bags early doors so we weren’t carrying them round and they were in the room when we checked in. Checking in and out was easy no problems fab bar area we booked our table for teatime just incase it got busy as we had a voucher towards evening meal which was lovely! Room was a good size clean and modern with little touches bed and pillows amazing! Overall a fantastic experience would definitely recommend to anybody and would return myself. A huge thank you to the staff especially the young gentleman (sorry didn’t get his name) who looked after us from dropping bags off to checking in to helping with purchases and leaving he was a credit to the Brewdog Hotel very friendly made the time, amenable nothing was too much trouble for him went above and beyond to make our stay a great one!
