Carlisle… a small town that was unexpectedly created by a snowstorm. Although it is not as famous as York or Newcastle, it is definitely a leisure town worth visiting… In addition to the castle and a church destroyed by war, there is also a ”Great Wall”… The people here are particularly warm and friendly because it is not a tourist area… I love everything here!
Room was fine but sadly due to the selfish people in the room above me,I didn't get any sleep due to all the noise that carried on right through the early oʻhours of the morning.
Staff didn't seem bothered BUT ,Trip were absolutely amazing when I complained to them about the situation.
However my room was really nice and clean and the location was great as well as it was a 2 minute walk from the train station
Cannot fault the ibis at all , perfect location for all the bars & 5 mins walk from train station. Breakfast is excellent & rooms are spotless, the staff are excellent to as nothing is a problem.
The room was clean and hygienic. I found two socks left by previous guests in the room.
The location is good. There is a supermarket next to it, which is convenient. There is also free parking. Other things are generally OK.
Very old looking run down needs totally decorating from top to bottom …..
killed 5 flees in my bed not a clean place .
On the plus side the food . evening meal was good breakfast was fab …. Entertainment was good. Bar was busy people dancing throughout the night every one enjoying their self’s
The first time I stayed in such a good hotel, because Edinburgh was not as fun as I imagined, so I stayed for a day and came to Carlisle. I didn’t expect to encounter such a home-like hotel. If you are a family of four coming to Europe unless you book two rooms, otherwise the room is small. You can’t imagine it. Here ~ to book a suite, like at home, the kitchen has everything! I went to buy ingredients that night to make it!
The hotel is relatively remote, but the environment is surprising, the rooms are clean, the backyard lawn is very comfortable, and the children are having fun. There is no place to eat nearby, only dinner at the hotel. It is estimated that usually only local people will go there. The service capacity is limited. Dinner can only be seated at a designated time, but the dishes are more delicate.

Wonderful holiday at the Windermere Hotel with our dog!
Our lovely clean room with crisp white bedding was in the annex so vey quiet and only 10 yards away from the dog friendly bar which also served bar snacks for a very reasonable price.
We had breakfast included in the price and the dog was allowed to sit with us next to the dining hall with tables all set up for dog owners.
All of the staff from the minute we checked in were very friendly and helpful.
We will be back!
Very friendly hotel. Clean and tidy. Every staff member greeted and answered questions with a smile. Check-in and check-out were very convenient. The breakfast was very good, more exquisite than other chain hotels. The snacks were delicious.
This is the only hotel room that provides mineral water among the 10 hotels I stayed in.

Great
AAnonymous UserGreat hotel with a decent location in the middle of the Lake District. You can walk/ cycle to Ambleside which is 5 miles away. Low fells are easy to hike for great views of the area around.
The hotel is more like a private house with rooms. We got a small suite with bedroom, bathroom and living room. We could just about see the lake from the living room.
The bathroom only has a bath and no shower head which was a difficulty for washing hair. Except for that it was very well organised.
Breakfast was at a nearby pub - The Good Sport. It was a limited selection on the menu: full English, breakfast rolls, toast or porridge. You also got a 10% for dinner in the pub too.
GGuest UserWas really happy with everything here from start to finish and it was very price-friendly: the only two points to mention were that the shower box had run out of shampoo and the checkout was 10am rather than the 11am specified on here. 5 stars everything else.
DDarryl JonNice and peaceful stay at the hotel. The facilities were clean and the bed was very comfy
The only downside was the cleaner tried to enter my room in the morning without knocking
