Old Town
The hotel is highly recommended. The location is very good, you can go to all areas of the old town; the rooms are large, with a large terrace and sea views. The overall design of the room is amazing, but many details designers are still inexperienced. The hotel's own breakfast is very good, standard English buffet; the restaurant can look directly at the Atlantic Ocean. Small details such as wash basins and towels are ill-considered; toilets are not separated from wet and dry, sliding doors are also fragile, and when there is a sound, it is easy to wake others up at night. The adjacent terrace is not blocked, it is easy to get up in the morning to see the neighbor lying on the bed, still watching you Ladies will love this type of room. The pool opens until 4 pm, so I missed it perfectly and left the next day. The restaurant downstairs is good and the price will not be much more expensive than outside

Very pretty hotel with amazing ocean view! We stayed here two nights only on our visit to southern Spain. I wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is huge and we stayed on the 2nd floor with a swim up pool off the patio. The access to the pool and restaurant is on the second level so that was convenient. No elevator needed! But our room didn’t have a view. Just the back of the pool bar so we were disappointed. Our room was a nice size but a very strange layout. The shower is in the middle of the room with just glass walls around it. No privacy. So if someone comes In the door and your are in the shower they see Everything. I didn’t like that at all. Poor design. The toilet is in its own room though. Bed was large and comfy. Came with a small bar fridge and coffee maker. The pool area is spectacular. Lots of lounge chairs and a full bar with service to your chairs. There are about 6 beds along the infinity pool that we were able to snag twice. It is So luxurious and an amazing view of the beach and ocean. Very clean! The restaurant beside the pol is open for breakfast and it was a buffet style - plentiful and lots of choices. The lobby is a bit of a walk from the rooms tho as it is a conference centre as well so there is lots of walking to get out to the street from your room. The roof top bar is amazing as well - great views! Loved this hotel!

Stayed for two nights with my husband as part of my 50th birthday celebrations! Well restored and looked after building. Very clean, comfy and spacious with a great roof terrace. Staff were very helpful. Quiet building and street but very close to the esplanade / pier where we watched “the kids” jumping off into the sea and the amazing sunset. Cadiz is a lovely city with some lovely parks and a beautiful cathedral. It’s also small enough to walk around quite easily. We had lunch in the market, which I recommend, and cooked our own food in the evening for a change. I'd also recommend a visit to the camera obscura. Had a great stay!

This hotel is not worth your money. To begin with, the rooms are tiny, the beds are hard, and the pillows are flat. At least the room was clean. However, nothing prepared me for the abysmal customer service I received upon checking in. First, the receptionist questioned me about my name, because the name on my reservation did not match the name on my passport. Since I have dual citizenship, American/Spanish, my names appear different in each place. In addition, I believe that the receptionist noted my Spanish accent as different (because I am also Puerto Rican) and showed prejudice to me because of this. My hotel room, which I shared with my mother, only contained 2 small hand towels. When I commented about how small the towels were to the receptionist, she said “That’s what there is.” Later in the evening, I went to the reception desk to request more towels, thinking even if they were small, at least I would try to get more of them. The receptionist, with an attitude, brought me more towels. When I got back to my room on the 5th floor, I realized that there were indeed bigger towels, since she had given me one bath towel and one hand towel. So, I returned to reception and asked for more bath towels. The receptionist’s response was that “too many people were showering,” since I had let my daughter change in my room after the beach. I commented that whether or not people were showering, the fact remained that my room did not have bath towels in it. She said in a rude voice, “Well, that’s impossible. All of our rooms have 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels.” I responded that my room did not have the bath towels, and that there was no reason for her to be rude to me. She became defensive, claiming she was not being rude. I said that she had been rude to me since I had checked in, and she denied that as well. In over 50 years of traveling, and as a Spanish/American citizen, I have never encountered such rude behavior and horrible customer service. Thankfully here I was able to lodge a formal complaint against the hotel, but anyone who goes here should be aware. Lastly, I have noticed that a few of the negative reviews here have very defensive comebacks from the hotel management, which is beyond belief for me.

This facility should be the model that all hostels are designed from. Amazingly building/ rooms / common areas with a rooftop bar and sitting area. Centrally located so you can explore rather easily. The only downside to my visit was the terrible noises starting at 07:00hrs every morning. The building next-door is being remodeled/renovated. An issue that is completely outside the control of Planeta Cádiz Hostel. They were apologetic… though appreciated my understanding that there was nothing they could do. Only roughly a 10 minute walk from the train station. Overall, I would ***highly recommend*** this facility to any and all travelers looking to spend time in Cádiz.

The whole experience was very pleasant. There was no 'them and us' feeling about the setting. Everyone was very helpful and very polite. The room was great and the breakfast gave you a lot of options. The hotel is also well placed near the ayuntamiento plaza but still quiet and peaceful. The only thing that needs some thought is the availability of umbrellas on the terrace. We went up a couple of times but, though seating was OK, you could not escape the sun because all the umbrellas were being used. Apart from the above, the hotel was great and we will stay again when we next visit our son... who lives just across the plaza...brilliant!!
