"This hotel genuinely offers the best service I've encountered, bar none, including those from big 5-star chains. The customer service communication via WeChat was incredibly gentle and patient. From our pick-up at the station for check-in, the staff were exceptionally thoughtful and genuine. When it rained, they even brought half a dozen umbrellas to help us with our luggage – truly attentive service throughout! 👍
The front desk staff were as friendly and welcoming as family, and the complimentary afternoon tea was a perfect touch, instantly soothing our travel weariness.
The room's decor was even more stunning – refined and elegant, with impeccable attention to detail. Our dedicated staff member even drew a hot spring bath for us ahead of time. Returning from the ancient town after a light drizzle and then soaking in that warm bath was simply heavenly. Truly couldn't have been more blissful!
Later in the evening, we requested an extra blanket, and it was delivered without a hitch – truly outstanding, 'Haidilao-level' service! Absolutely fantastic! The breakfast was also superb 😋. This is what truly makes a trip memorable."

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at Logee Inn, and it was an unforgettable experience. Originally chose the Inn for its proximity to a private kitchen/fine dining, the inn surpassed my expectations.
Location:
Logee Inn is perfectly situated just on the outskirts of Baisha, an easy 10minute walk or the lovely manager happily dropped us off and picked us up.
Accommodations:
The rooms are beautiful with large windows and direct view of Yulong Snow Mountain. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a higher-grade room, which featured a large roof terrace. The view of the mountains from the large windows was amazing, adding to the overall charm of our stay. This room also included unlimited barista coffee, which was a delightful treat!
Service:
The service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with recommendations or any needs. The hotel manager even offered to drop us off and pick us up from Baisha Old Town.
Evening Experience:
One of the highlights was the evening atmosphere—they lit a fire in the back garden, creating a cozy space to unwind.
Dining:
The breakfast options were hearty and delicious, offering both Western and Chinese breakfast sets that catered to all tastes, with rice noodles as well as croissants and Americanos.
Overall Experience:

Weary of the bustling ancient town, choosing to stay at Yundu Scenic Guesthouse in Baisha was hands down the best decision of this entire trip. The guesthouse is nestled in a quiet village, offering an incredibly peaceful environment where the only sounds are the wind, birdsong, and the majestic call of the snow-capped mountains. The breathtaking phenomenon of 'Golden Mountain Sunrise' each morning was a daily highlight, a magnificent spectacle we could enjoy exclusively from our room or terrace.
The rooms are simply designed yet comfortable, and the facilities are brand new. The complimentary breakfast was comforting and satisfying, and the small gym was perfect for basic workouts. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel completely at home.

"An excellent experience! Chengdu was scorching hot a few days ago, so I spontaneously embarked on a summer escape. I booked two days, and the warm-hearted fellow native, Haiyan, upgraded my room. I ended up extending my stay for another two days, and even then, I didn't want to leave.
Life in the village was a daily routine, a two-point line: wake up naturally, eat breakfast, head back to the room to catch up on some news, wait for the nearby coffee shop to open at 10 AM, then sit there until 12 PM before heading next door for lunch in the courtyard. After lunch, it was back to the room. In the afternoon, I'd wander around the village until dinner time. After dinner, I'd return to the hotel. Evenings were spent either chatting over tea with other guests or watching a movie in my room. Then, sleep—and I slept wonderfully every night.
As Director Wang once said:
People always say to cherish time, but time doesn't need cherishing; it flows naturally. You might as well squander it early.
We've decided to return in the winter and hope to meet Brother Ma and his family again. We'll share tea and stories, and by then, my new handpan drum piece will be perfected to entertain everyone."

Stepping into the room, I was greeted by a massive, wall-spanning floor-to-ceiling window, perfectly framing the snow mountain like a living masterpiece. The sense of peace and healing it brought was more comforting than any other view.
In the courtyard, a charming treehouse is nestled within a 160-year-old walnut tree. As you climb up, you can touch the hanging branches, feeling as though you've stepped right into a childhood fairy tale. The adjacent viewing platform is incredibly photogenic too; there's no need to jostle with crowds at tourist spots. Just stand here, let the snow mountains be your backdrop, and you'll get stunning photos in no time!

"Huge thanks to the owner for accommodating our specific pick-up and drop-off requests. Traveling with elderly parents and children, this saved us a lot of hassle. The guesthouse environment and rooms are exactly as pictured – what you see is what you get, no complaints there. Even though it wasn't a perfectly clear day, seeing the full panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains was still incredibly breathtaking. We stayed for two nights, and communication was super smooth; any issues we had were resolved immediately. The best part was definitely the free electric scooter provided by the guesthouse. It made getting around so convenient and was a lot of fun to ride. Breakfast was also delicious. Highly recommended!"

This is a brand-new guesthouse/hotel with excellent management, a stark contrast to the Intercontinental in the old town. The staff are incredibly service-oriented, always proactively greeting guests. The Naxi driver, a friendly and polite young man, drove us for all our excursions. Our butler, Daniel Wu (Wu Yanzu), is very handsome, and the butler team on WeChat is incredibly responsive and attentive to every request.
The hotel is situated on Wenbi Mountain, at an altitude of approximately 2500 meters, offering panoramic views of the entire old town. At night, you can see fireworks in the distance, and on clear days, the snow-capped mountains stand majestically before you, a truly breathtaking sight. The hotel's location faces the snow-capped mountains, providing a perfect vista, complemented by the Wenbi Reservoir below – a harmonious blend of mountains and water.
While this location offers advantages, it also has its drawbacks. However, the owner cleverly compensates with exceptional logistical services. Understanding the inconvenience of traveling down the mountain, each room includes complimentary airport transfers and shuttle service to the old town. The young man mentioned that the hotel has 58 rooms but over 100 staff members, which speaks volumes about the perfection of their service.
The hotel has its own dining options. Breakfast is a set menu, and other meals can be ordered by scanning a QR code. I tried them, and the taste was quite good, with very reasonable prices, which was very convenient. The hotel also features its own 'Cow Shed Cafe,' which is very chill, offers afternoon tea, and is perfect for photos. After experiencing it for two days, it's essentially a hotel where you can completely relax and unwind. The swimming pool is also excellent, though unfortunately it was a bit chilly, so I didn't get to use it. This is truly a hotel with a lot of heart and warmth.

I really liked the boss, lady boss, and all the staff here. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Dan Jie gave me lots of suggestions for places to visit through WeChat, which I really appreciated since I don’t go out much and tend to overthink everything 😅 Too bad I did not get to meet her in person!
The desserts here were great too. I especially loved their green bean soup. Super impressed sia! The location is also perfect for snow mountain views, though the weather wasn’t great during our trip. Still, it was a really lovely experience overall.

After staying two nights, I truly think it was worth choosing this place as the first stop on my Yunnan trip.
First, the location is perfect. It's on the edge of Baisha Ancient Town, making it quiet yet conveniently accessible to the main street for dining and shopping. The most surprising thing was that the room window faced directly onto the mountain. Waking up in the morning, opening the curtains, I was greeted by a glimpse of the mountains shrouded in mist. The hazy, almost invisible feeling instantly soothed my heart. The hotel facilities were new and clean. The bedding was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water, making for a truly comfortable stay. Breakfast and afternoon tea were both plentiful, and no matter what you ordered, you could always get hot, delicious tea.
The staff were incredibly friendly. They greeted us with a smile and responded quickly to any questions, giving us the impression of genuine concern, rather than a mechanical service. The car service saved us the hassle of finding our way around, a truly thoughtful touch for travelers arriving in an unfamiliar place.
There was a little lamb in a miniature skirt in the courtyard! So adorable!
Overall, it was a relaxing hotel with well-thought-out details. The experience was great from the moment I was picked up at the station. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Baisha!

The service was exceptional — the staff were warm, welcoming, and constantly checked in to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their hospitality truly stood out.
Breakfast was included and featured a local specialty noodle dish accompanied by a variety of delicious side dishes. Dining with a view — whether in the morning or at dinner — was a memorable experience.
The resort also provided afternoon tea, which included a fruit platter, some nuts, and a choice of drinks. I especially appreciated the peaceful and serene atmosphere while gazing at the mountains — it was a perfect moment of calm and relaxation.
All the amenities we could possibly need were thoughtfully provided. The resort is also conveniently located near one of the ancient towns, and food delivery is available if you’re in the mood to explore other dining options.
Overall, we had a very pleasant and restful stay. I highly recommend this resort for families or anyone looking to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Although transportation in the old town can be a bit inconvenient, the thoughtful owner and the front desk lady always greeted us with smiles and meticulously arranged everything for us. Their genuine sincerity made us feel incredibly warm.
In the mornings, the sun-drenched terrace was the whole family's favorite spot. Our clothes dried there always carried the scent of sunshine, and in the evenings, we could enjoy a drink while taking in the view as the lights of the old town gradually flickered on. I especially have to praise their breakfast; the Chinese options were heartwarming and comforting, while the Western dishes were exquisite and delicious—every bite reflected great care.
Everywhere in the room, you could see the owner's attention to detail: a spotless environment and thoughtful motion-sensor lights that made our stay both convenient and cozy. The reluctance of our child to leave was the best review. This wasn't just a stay; it was a warm encounter. Next time we visit Baisha, this will definitely be our first choice!

LLowJia JinOnce in a while, we have the rare privilege of staying somewhere that exemplifies all that is good about travel. Nguluko is one such place.
As the photos suggest, the hotel is beautifully designed. It’s a zen-like, modern annex, connected to Liusan’s generational home. What a curious privilege it is, to be able to join her family around the home’s traditional Naxi courtyard for a bonfire dance, before retreating upstairs to a room of luxurious comforts, including an actual Dyson hairdryer and electronic toilet.
But more important is what the photos cannot capture. In an age of faceless travel, dominated by flavourless hotel chains and mass-produced group tours, it’s rare to be able to feel a connection with folks eager to share a little slice of their life with you. Whether it be a morning stroll around the old village, a sharing session on Naxi culture and Dongba script, or even the aforementioned bonfire dance (replete with lived-in details like the family’s aging hams dangling off the awnings), it harkens back to a more serendipitous style of travel that made me smile.
Even meals (all-inclusive!) are a chance to experience local culture. Locally foraged bracken and morels make an appearance, as do different varieties of liangfen, and Lijiang-style baba. There’s also the most moreish chicken hotpot — which I was going to drive out of the way to Luguzhen to try — but which she ended up serving for dinner on the second night. I’m quite obsessive when it comes to food, and yet everything I wanted to try here, except perhaps the rainbow trout and yak, were cooked up and served.
Some small things could be improved: many stairways lack railings for the mobility impaired, and the ‘October’ room has an odd bathroom design where the toilet cubicle barely has space to close when one is seated. But such issues pale in comparison to the overall experience. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give it is that in a world filled with a million wonderful destinations, this is one place I would choose to return to.

The hotel's small courtyard was charming with its lush, vibrant greenery. The rooms themselves were equipped with very new facilities. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful details like sanitized slippers and disposable towels, plus the complimentary welcome fruit. It truly felt very guest-centric. The rooftop was another highlight, offering magnificent panoramic views of the snowy mountains. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.

GGaryThe inn is located inside the ancient town. It is a 3 storey wooden building without lift, but the owner will carry all the luggage for us The room is clean and the view is stunning. I can see the snow mountain directly without any obstruction on the bed. The bed and pillow is comfortable and clean. Room has no smoking smell.
The room has remote control curtain and powerful hot and cold shower. Breakfast cater for local tourist, just a bowl of noodle with fried egg and some local bun with femented bean curd no coffee or fruit juice. There are plenty of cafe including luckin coffee nearby. The inn is run by a young man with a few helper. He will come to our drop off point to pick our luggage. The town is just a street and most of the shops close around 7pm.
If you are looking for a good clean hotel to experience the stunning view of he snow mountain with reasonable price, this is it.

The room was spotless, the bedding felt luxurious, the location was incredibly convenient, and the front desk staff provided outstanding service. This hotel truly exceeded all my expectations! The facilities are brand new, the breakfast buffet was generous and delicious, and the staff were exceptionally warm and attentive. I highly recommend it! This hotel offers incredible value for money; the rooms are spacious and bright with excellent soundproofing, which allowed me to get a fantastic night's sleep. I'm thoroughly satisfied!

Our room featured floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing us to lie in bed and watch the clouds drift lazily across the mountaintops, with every breath infused with the fresh scent of pine. The windows framed the mountain views like a living wallpaper; by day, it was a vibrant green tapestry, and in the evenings, the peaks were bathed in stunning orange and pink hues. Every casual photo looked like a cinematic screenshot.
The ”Golden Mountain at Sunrise” (日照金山) viewed from the rooftop was an absolutely unforgettable, breathtaking spectacle. Watching the snow-capped peaks slowly transform from steely grey to shimmering gold, with the first rays of light touching my face, it felt as if even the wind held its breath. This sheer, majestic grandeur is a moment no filter could ever hope to capture.
The evening bonfire party truly embodied the most vibrant and authentic local atmosphere. As dusk settled, the bonfire by the entrance sprang to life. Naxi aunties led everyone in traditional 'datiao' dances, the firewood crackled merrily, and songs mixed with laughter echoed up the hillside. We drank local rice wine and joined the circle, feeling the day's serene tranquility transition seamlessly into the lively energy of the night.
From the 'Golden Mountain' at dawn to the late-night bonfire, from the stunning mountain views from our room to the fresh scent of flora and fauna with every breath, this place perfectly blends the refined elegance of 'French-inspired rustic luxury' with the genuine, untouched spirit of Lijiang's wilderness. It creates a compelling reason to want to return and stay here again and again. Next time I visit Lijiang, I'll definitely be staying here again!

CClinomaniac LyeI recommend conducting thorough research before making reservations to fully understand what to expect. We were somewhat surprised by the campsite-style setup, as we booked based solely on website photos without delving into the specifics.
While the facilities are adequate, the layout lacks privacy. For instance, to use the cabin's toilet, all curtains on the first level must be closed. Additionally, the toilet bowl is situated behind stairs without any curtains, potentially allowing others in the cabin to see. Moreover, the second-level flooring consists of planks with numerous gaps, providing visibility to the first level, including the bathtub and toilet bowl.
I strongly advise against booking this accommodation for families with children due to the safety risk posed by the sliding doors on the second level, which lack safety measures. While they offer a unique view of the mountain, the danger of potential falls is significant. If you do choose to consider it as a family cabin, I recommend checking with the staff to lock the doors from the outside for added safety.
Despite the unexpected aspects mentioned above, our overall stay was still decent. The staff were hospitable and helpful throughout our visit. Communication was convenient via WeChat for check-in details, recommendations, and self-checkout. It seems that the camping style of accommodation was a selling point, it’s definitely a unique stay. I’m sure there’s a specific crowd that would fully enjoy the experience.
