I highly recommend this hotel! The breakfast is incredibly lavish, and the staff are super friendly. The Echo Lounge offers amazing panoramic city views, and there's a pool too. If your room faces the mosque at night, you can hear the call to prayer, which is quite interesting. Instead of rushing through your trip like a 'special forces' tourist, consider staying here longer. You can hire a car from here to visit Bromo, Sewu Waterfall, the mosque, and explore the fish market and old town. Enjoy a traditional local black coffee, delve into colonial history at antique shops and the Heroes Museum, and chat with the locals (I strongly advise against shopping malls, they're so boring!). That's what real travel is all about, isn't it? (!!Breakfast staff like Ducan and Adrian were incredibly welcoming to me!!)

Excellent Excotel Surabaya! Stepping into a room at EXCOTEL Design Hotel Surabaya, you're immediately greeted by a meticulously designed and stylish modern industrial atmosphere. This new 4-star hotel perfectly blends robust contemporary architecture with warm and functional interior comfort. The combination of materials, ideal lighting, and thoughtful room arrangement creates a space that feels not only spacious and clean but also incredibly Instagrammable from every angle.

The hotel environment is nice, and the breakfast is good. It even has a swimming pool. The pool isn't big, but the water is very clean. The service is very warm and welcoming, with staff at the entrance to help open doors and carry luggage. I really like it here.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. Overall, the stay was fine, but my experience at check-in could have been much better. I arrived earlier than the standard check-in time and was informed that early check-in would require an additional charge. I explained that I had just completed a long journey and was hoping for some flexibility, but the receptionist insisted that check-in was only available at 2:00 PM. Fortunately, after waiting for some time, they eventually allowed me to check in earlier. I understand that hotels have policies regarding check-in times. However, I believe a more flexible and customer-oriented approach, especially when rooms are already available, would greatly improve the guest experience. Many other hotels are able to accommodate such requests without unnecessary rigidity. I hope the hotel will consider providing more flexible and welcoming service in the future.

The front desk staff were very friendly, and the room was clean and tidy, making for a pleasant stay. There's a restaurant downstairs, and plenty of other dining options around the hotel, though you have to walk about 200 meters to get to them. I was charged a 150,000 IDR deposit for the room, which was not refunded upon checkout.

The room could use a proper deep clean as you can see grime in places like the shower head or the toilet flush but overall it was a nice suite. The complimentary drinks and snacks were very generous. The breakfast boxes were great and the laundry was fast and effective but I realized later that they didn’t return my laundry bag which was disappointing. Also it took a long time for the reception to confirm whether they could get my laundry done within 14 hours and they passed me along to a lot of different people to confirm that.

We enjoy our stay here. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food for breakfast is variety and delicious. The location is strategic, near the mall and hot spot around surabaya. Would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Not sure if it's because there are fewer family rooms, but the sheets were quite old. The stay was okay though, I really like this hotel and have stayed here frequently before, but it really needs a renovation.

Before I review I want to say all the staff were kind friendly and very helpful. If this review was about the staff you would have 100%. My problem is with the fabric of the hotel. It is dirty , shabby and living in the past. The first entertainment hotel in the city. Looking at it it was probably the last time it was refurbished. I feel that the staff put on a brave face and they are professional in their duties. Entering my room the sheets were grey had holes and stained. If you use an external laundry and hire your linen someone needs to change your contract!! Grey is not white. The walls are covered in hardboard and are dirty. Shower and toilet ok. Fire door did not self close. Hole in the wall where the self closer keeps hitting it. If this is a four star hotel it’s the staff who are keeping it there, a review though in my opinion would drop you to two stars at the best!! The owners need to reinvest!!
