Oh my, I loved staying at BUNK Hotel Amsterdam. I was first attracted by the good reviews of this young hostel/hotel hybrid, booked it far enough in advance for an early bird discount, and just a couple of days into my seven day stay, I realized I'd truly gotten a great deal. BUNK Amsterdam is fantastic! Ugh, where to start? I rented a pod, which is in a large room containing about 50 pods. Pods are preferable to bunk beds or other kinds of barrack-style hostels. There is privacy, there is enough space for you to get comfortable, change your clothes, the mattress is fine, the blanket and pillow are very cushy and cozy, the curtain is thick and heavy. The lighting situation inside the pod is unique, one of those switches with a lot of color and tone options, so you can really light the pod to your mood. I slept very well considering I was in a room with 30-50 other people at any given time. You also get a private locker beneath your pod that can fit a suitcase and a backpack with relative ease, unless you've overpacked.
The bathroom is non-gendered, all the stalls are very clean and private. As a guy, it felt weird to use the bathroom while women were in it, so I blasted music in my earbuds to tune the world out while I did my business, ha. The showers are in a separate room and also very private. The water pressure is great and the showerheads are waterfall style. They have towels available at all hours. If you don't see any on the rack, just ask and there they shall be.
The biggest surprise for me here was the restaurant. The restaurant attached to BUNK is basically a 4-star restaurant with 2-star prices. They have a full bar with well-priced drinks and very skilled, very handsome bartenders/baristas who can craft a wide arrays of cocktails. The chefs are also highly skilled, and the servers are attentive and kind. The menu is diverse, ranging from avocado toast to an interesting Indonesia beef stew-like dish that I can only describe as mind-blowingly delicious. They also featured a ”taco” that was very tasty despite really not being a taco at all. My favorite breakfast (and perhaps favorite overall meal) was their Eggs Bennie with fresh smoked salmon. For dessert, on multiple occasions I ordered their popular Snickers dessert, which was peanut ice cream with caramel and shards of chocolate and brittle. I meant to do more foodie tourism during my week in Amsterdam, but the food was so good I wound up taking a good percentage of my meals in the BUNK restaurant. I snapped some pictures of the food I mentioned; it should go without saying that I am not a pro photographer.
The front desk is manned (or womaned) 24/7, so anytime there was an issue or I had a question, someone was available. They are very attentive with regards to customer service. I should also note with their keycard system and network of entrances and hallways, I felt very safe. They care about security there and take proper, non-intrusive methods to make sure everyone is comfortable. I should also mention the facility is just beautiful. It's built within a very old church, there is a library, plants everywhere, a calming vibe throughout, and a quiet room for work or study.
BUNK is located in the North section of Amsterdam (Noord). Noord is the quieter part of Amsterdam, suburb feeling as opposed to the city vibe elsewhere. It's extremely easy to get to the Central area from here though. There is a ferry about a 10 minute walk away that takes you to the central area, as well as a tram a five minute walk away that takes you directly to Centraal Station.
I really hit a home run choosing this place, BUNK Amsterdam truly delivered the goods. Great building, great amenities, great staff, great restaurant, great location. I would recommend this to anyone traveling solo or as a couple/small group. Very small group. It's great to stay for a couple of days or a whole week. I loved my experience here and would stay again if/when I return to Amsterdam. Great place.

It’s real nearby the concert location ziggo dome, it’s convenient.
They need to check the guest reservation properly as they send us to a wrong room than previously booked and need to transfer to another room.
in terms of cleanliness they need to improve! It’s like our room was not cleaned and smelly from the poor sewerage, dust everywhere and not clean bathroom! We asked for help but they just spray something.
Our room is 1320

The hotel is ok, friendly staff though some of the things was missing in the room, no hanging closets and hanger, no hair dryer, the room was so basic but its big the toilet is clean and big, the bed also is big but if your staying for just few nights then its ok for the price, nearest bus and train station is around 9mins.

Great hotel and right next to a tram stop for access in and out of the main city and canals
I was unable to find the gym/wellness suite with staff directing me to different places (I didn’t look particularly hard)
Great price but if you intend on spending your time in and around the canals I’d suggest somewhere closer as the €9.50 daily tram pass will add up

It is far away from the center of the city and public transport is not easily available.
It is near supermarkets and restaurants which is convenient.
Room is satisfactory and amenities are good.
Nice social area at the front, though they don’t let you smoke ******** at the front.
Bar was good though I think expensive when you can just buy cheap beers around the corner.
Volkshotel was once a newspaper headquarters and is now home to 196 hotel rooms, ranging from cozy hideouts to huge hangouts. Stay in a regular room, in one of our special creations, or in a studio. Volkshotel has a lively programme on weekends. Extra charge for city tax is 12,5% over the net room amount. Breakfast costs €16 per person, per nights.

Breakfast is 20 Euros, which is not bad. It is a good breakfast in the Netherlands, a typical Western breakfast. The location is just beside the subway, which is very convenient to go everywhere. The room has no toiletries, no kettle, and no slippers. So I think the price/performance ratio is average, that is, the hotel has a rooftop and various activities, and the price is high

Amazing
RRicardoWe were amazed by this charming little hotel in the Joordan neighborhood, an ideal area for exploring the city on foot. We stayed in the penthouse suite, a very special and romantic attic space, both the room and the common areas are full of charming details that add to other surprises that they give you during your stay and at check out time. All staff were very friendly, going out of their way to accommodate every need. The possibility of having hot drinks at any time, even snacks in the afternoon, is a plus during a time as cold as December, we only wanted to try the breakfast, which looked great and was reasonably priced.

PPoh Boon EricI went to the wrong hotel at the City Hall, realised the north river branch one not so convenient. Not advise to stay here is you don’t mind have to take metros every time you head out to the central. The morning breakfast was by far uninspiring, really quite limited choice of food 🤦🏻♂️
And when I arrived there on a Friday evening, the reception told me that there is no room service on Saturday, what a crap 🤦🏻♂️
GGayatri GallowayLocation, location, location! Staying at the Linden comes with the friendliest and cutest warning that the hotel is tiny… but it makes up in more ways than just its perfect location in the middle of Amsterdam’s old Jordaan.
There’s no breakfast facility but they offer discount at the cafe right next door. However they managed to squeeze in public space area where people can sit, wait and do some digital nomad-ing, with free supply of coffees, access to sweet jars and board games for a rainy day. If you’re in time you can also catch some of the fresh pastry they offer at random times of the day.
The hotel staff were so kind and most helpful.
As for the room: remember the heart of Amsterdam is famous for its narrow houses and steep staircases. The fact they turned this old corner house into a hotel is a miracle in itself, so just brace yourself and enjoy the smallness of it all. There’s a kettle in the room and sealed empty bottles of water which is meant for you to fill up with tap water as that’s indeed safe to drink in Amsterdam. The only downside of our standard room (18) is the weird layout of the bathroom which needed not to be awkward. Just as well we are not built big or our legs wouldn’t have fitted sitting on the toilet facing the glass shower enclosure.
On the way out, we were given a ‘Thank You’ goodie bag. Lots of brownie points for this hotel!

CChen SYHotel very convenient as is nearby the train station and metro which can access to every where. There is a supermarket and also a stall nearby selling good herring and fried cod. Enjoyed our stay.
SSwaterfieldNice hostel located in a lovely park. I was in a pod and I was glad I was with how busy the hostel was. They didn’t have a kitchen but offered all kinds of purchased food. You can also pay for a towel, late checkout, breakfast (it was ok), and other things. The shower was a shared mixed shower, which I wasn’t fully thrilled with. Make sure to bring a padlock to lock up your personal items.
GGuest UserBreakfast is good value. Staff very helpful. Although a lift to a few rooms ,tricky winding stairways not for disabled. Tram 2 to museum and train almost out front. No bottled water supplied and no kettle for room coffee. Lovely bedding.

GGuest UserThe lobby of the Amsterdam Library Hotel is really the layout of the library, and the smell of books is strong when you enter the door.
Less than 10 minutes from the central railway station, go left at the main entrance of the train station, cross the tram, walk along the road, there is a bus station at the entrance of the hotel, it is easy to find. The 24-hour front desk, the waiter is very enthusiastic, will tell you in detail where to go, live here safely and comfortably.

RRichard GarciaThis place was fine for a short stay. There was access to a tram and close to the museum area. I felt a little far to walk into the centre of Amsterdam and it was expensive given the area and space. I know it was a European summer, but very expensive for what you get. Overall, friendly staff and relatively easy to get to by tram.
LLauraVReview of Our Stay at a Hotel in Amsterdam
We recently stayed at a hotel in Amsterdam and had a mix of positive and negative experiences. First, let's start with the positives:
What We Liked:
The premises were quite nice. There's a bar downstairs, which is a great spot to unwind. Additionally, there are a few supermarkets and a traditional Dutch bakery right across the street, which made grabbing snacks and breakfast super convenient. The location is fantastic—just an 8-minute walk to the train station and a 4-minute walk to the bus and tram stops, making it easy to get around the city.
The room was just as shown in the pictures. The mattress was comfortable, and there was ample space to organize our belongings during our stay. The receptionists were really kind and welcoming, which made our check-in and stay more pleasant. We also enjoyed the style of the hotel, especially the lovely lobby with two pianos, a comfortable sofa, and some books and local information to relax and read.
What We Didn't Like:
While we had read other reviews about noise issues and poor sound isolation, we thought we'd be okay with it, considering our home is located in a town center near nightclubs. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The noise wasn't from people talking but from doors slamming. From 11 pm until 3 am, there was a constant door slamming that made the floor and walls in our room vibrate every two to three minutes. It felt like we were next to a staff room or had a very active neighbor. To be able to sleep, we had to watch a movie until the slamming finally stopped. This constant noise didn't allow us to rest properly, and we woke up later than we wanted the next day. The slamming continued on the following day, so we decided to stay out as late as possible to avoid it. Fortunately, around 2 am, the noise decreased, and we managed to sleep.
Additionally, there was a funny smell in the corridors and the toilet. I found it unpleasant, but my husband wasn't bothered by it. If you are sensitive to smells, this might be something to consider. However, if you're not particularly sensitive, like my husband, it might not be an issue.
Conclusion:
Overall, while the hotel's location, amenities, and staff were great, the noise from door slamming and the smell in the corridors were significant drawbacks for us. If these issues could be addressed, it would make for a much more pleasant stay.
Wwax tsoiThe location is excellent. It's very convenient to go to the station and the museum. There are also many delicious food nearby. However, the hotel room is too small, the mattress is sunken, the pillows are smelly, and the TV cannot change channels.
