Great
MM245877****This Dormy Inn is by far the best one we've stayed at in Japan! The room felt slightly larger than the standard Dormy Inn basic room types, and the highlight was definitely the multiple outdoor onsen baths available (usually there's just one). It was fantastic to try out all the different ones in rotation. The service was also excellent. The only downside is the location, which is a bit out of the way, situated between Sendai city center and Matsushima Coast (a 25-minute walk from JR Nakano-sakae Station, or a 5-minute taxi ride costing around 1000 JPY). Other than that, there are no flaws, and the Ctrip group purchase price was an absolute steal. Plus, the Kirin Beer Factory is right next door, so if you have time, you can book a tour.
IIvy chan HKThe hotel is very luxurious, the lobby has free alcohol and drinks, receives WiFi around, the hot springs to walk down the mountain, very special, the 1/F has a large hot spring, near the hot spring area free drinks until 12 midnight. We booked a triple room, the room was spacious, the ointment was no shower room, it was cheap and included breakfast and dinner. The food is rich. I will stay a few more nights next time I have the chance. Be sure to take a bath in the large bath. Very close to a whiskey factory visit. Make an appointment in advance though.
GGuest UserLocation was far from Train station - hence need a free shuttle bus from Sendai station to go in. Kind of challenging to book and confirm the shuttle arrangement but got it done after few clarifications. Hotel itself is near Akiu Sato centre which is good
Hotel is big but quite old looking, room spacious , good onsen.
very good dinner buffet with snow crabs daily. Buffet breakfast limited spread but OK
Problem is other main attractions are far and need to take bus/taxi.
The Akiu traditional craft village/park was a big disappointment with no visitors and only few shops opened. Not worth going at all
Hotel near Akiu Onsen, Sendai 100% of visitors choose this area

GGuest UserLocation is a bit away from JR Station. Hotel is small but busy. Breakfast with good food choices but like the rest of the hotel, cramped. Onsen facilities are good
GGuest UserDo note that the budget single rooms do not have private shower. They expect you to go to the public baths and onsens on the 3rd floor, which is a great experience. There are indoor, outdoor onsens as well as a sauna. They provide free ice cream and probiotic drinks outside the bathing area. You also get free Ramen for late night snack, which is Dormy inn's signature. The breakfast options are sufficient and tasty. Location is good, very near Sendai station. For the price point, I think this is a very good property.
GGuest UserI absolutely loved this chain hotel. It's conveniently located very close to the station, though I'd recommend using navigation for the most straightforward route. Upon exiting the station, the easiest way is to head up to the second floor, walk a short distance, cross the street, and then take the stairs down. The room was a good size, and the layout was very practical.
LlspfThis hotel is incredibly convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Sendai Station, located right in a shopping arcade with tons of restaurants and shops, including a Don Quijote just 2 minutes away. The bus stop for Yamagata is also a mere 2-minute walk. The lobby offers 24-hour free coffee, and there are lockers for guests to store luggage before check-in or after check-out. The service is excellent. My only minor suggestion would be to have signs indicating the elevator's location on the ground floor, as I had to carry my luggage up to the second floor for check-in on the first day, which was a bit inconvenient. If I come to Sendai again, I'd definitely choose this hotel. The room amenities are well-arranged and very practical.
TTina GoodenoughThe hotel's location is excellent, right next to the shopping street, and it's about a 10-minute walk to the JR station. The breakfast is quite varied, with one or two dishes updated daily, plus fresh oranges available, which is really nice.
GGustavo TozzoThe hotel was simple, and the front staff were very friendly, and though the room was clean, it was one of the smallest I have stayed at. It seems to be quite an old hotel, but it’s nicely kept and the location is really good. Several convenience stores close by, and the Sendai station is also an walking distance. The lack of amenities was a disappointment, and during a pouring rain there were no umbrellas available, which was a downer.
Having said that, I would not hesitate to stay again at this hotel if it’s available during my trip (I do travel to Sendai regularly)
Sorry I didn’t take photos… I was quite busy during my stay…
GGustavo TozzoPlace was fine, staff was courteous and helpful, room was clean and relatively good size, though the light switches were place at a very strange place, opposite wall to the head of the bed, and had to get up to switch lights off) no breakfast, and the price I paid was more expensive than what they advertised at the front of the hotel (¥5400 w/ breakfast) that bothered me, specially when they charge ¥1400 for breakfast! Pricey af! So I went kombini style… much cheaper!
But it was a good stay. ¥800 yen for parking (250 metres away on foot) until checkout.
