Renaissance Hotels in Shanghai

The room could have been a bit cleaner — there was still quite a bit of dust in some areas such as the blinds and furniture. The furniture also looked a little worn with some scratches here and there. However, the bed was very comfortable, the linens were clean, and the pillows were soft. The room itself was spacious, which was great for our family of four, and our kids really enjoyed it. The view from our room was beautiful — we could see the Oriental Pearl Tower right from the window. The breakfast was decent; we stayed for four nights, and the menu changed slightly every day, which kept it interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially Mr. Kim, who assisted us warmly during check-in and made everything smooth and pleasant. The location was excellent — it’s right next to the train station, making it very convenient to travel to places like Nanjing Road and other attractions around the city. We would definitely consider staying here again the next time we visit Shanghai. What impressed us the most was that we stayed on my wife’s birthday, and the hotel surprised us with a lovely birthday cake — such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture! Before we checked out, they even prepared a small box of treats as a farewell gift, which made our experience even more memorable.

First off, a big shout-out to the hotel's parking and the security guards! 👍 Their service was excellent and incredibly welcoming!!! Secondly, the front desk service was fantastic; they took great care of us, especially since we had a child. Thirdly, there's a pool, and the service there was also very good. Shanghai itself can be a bit humid, but the hotel really tried its best to address this, which I appreciate. 👍 To have this level of service during the National Day holiday is truly commendable and worth recommending.

I stayed here for two nights last time, so I booked three more nights for this trip to Shanghai. The location is unbeatable, with direct access to Zhongshan Park Station on Metro Lines 2, 3, and 4. Plus, the hotel is directly connected to the Dragon Dream shopping mall, so you don't have to worry about dining, entertainment, or shopping. It's especially convenient on hot days because you don't have to brave the sun. Both this hotel and Mingjie are under the Renaissance brand. However, at Mingjie, all staff actively greet guests. Here at Zhongshan Park, it's more by the book from check-in to check-out – not overly enthusiastic, not overly cold. But I'm quite introverted myself, so it didn't really matter. Check-in and check-out are both handled on the 25th floor, where the front desk is located. Then, to go to your room or the gym, you have to transfer elevators on the 25th floor, similar to the Hyatt Regency in Jiading. The two beds in the guest room felt a bit cramped, but for a single person, it was fine. There's a desk in the room but no chair, so I asked the cleaning lady for one. She was very prompt with her cleaning, and what impressed me most was that she actually remembered me from my previous stay, which was a pleasant surprise. Anyway, if you need anything, you can just dial zero, and they'll have the cleaning staff deliver it. However, all food deliveries must be picked up on the first floor; they can't be delivered to your room. This is mainly for guest safety, which is understandable. Oh, and the hotel's beds and pillows are incredibly, incredibly comfortable! I have issues with my neck and lower back, and out of all the hotels I've stayed at, their bedding always feels just right – not too soft, not too firm. This definitely deserves high praise! During check-out, the young man named Ivan (pictured in the last photo) proactively asked me about my stay and if I needed help calling a taxi. When the taxi arrived, he even directed the driver to pull up and helped me put my luggage in the trunk. Even in nearly 40-degree Celsius heat, he remained friendly, thoughtful, and meticulous in his service to guests. He truly deserves a huge thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Really love how the staff were so attentive and helpful during our stay. The hotel has good facilities especially the gym room. Counter staffs were great and facilitated our check in and check out process so smoothly. Kudos to them and the cleaning ladies who made our holiday a pleasant one.

I extended my stay by an extra day as I hadn't finished everything yet. At breakfast, someone immediately seats you and asks if you'd like coffee or tea, which the server then pours and places at your table. For items that require waiting, you can take the bamboo skewer from your table to queue. For example, for noodles or wontons, once they're ready, they'll use your skewer number to deliver them directly to your table. This is a great system, as it avoids crowds at the stations and prevents people from cutting in line. The gym wasn't crowded, and since I don't swim, I didn't use the pool. When checking out, the staff at the front desk asked if I needed an invoice. If not, I could just hand the room card to him, saving me the hassle of waiting in line. It was a very pleasant stay, and I'd come back again if I have the chance!
