This hotel is so~~~~ great. I am so touched by their service. Best Shanghai hotel ever. Those people at the front desk were fantastic. They even provided free Yu Yuan tour with guests. I have to thank so much to Jerry. He helped every thing for us. Very considerate and delicate service. He should be the global best hotelier!!! Location is very good. Right next to the Bund and Yu Yuan, both short walking distance. Don't worry if your room doesn't have a good view since in the 11th floor common balcony, any guests can have a beautiful view of the Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl Tower. I loved their breakfast as well. The lady who checked in for my family for the restaurant was so great. I forgot her name, but maybe Camela. I really appreciate you! 1st floor bell crews were so kind as well. I definitely want to come to this hotel again. My families Shanghai visit was much happier because of these people. If I come again, I will stay with them. Thank you and miss you, everyone.

Superb hotel at a quiet yet accessible location. Staff were really friendly, room was very comfortable, usage of space was well thought out of and no smell of smoke at all. Breakfast spread was scrumptious, and they even had free yummy porridge with side dishes for all hotel guests in the evening, which was a very thoughtful gesture! We also really loved the free laundry service which was so convenient and easy to use. Hotel was smart throughout - TV had info about whether the laundry and dryer machines were occupied, and we could order delivery and the robot helper delivered it to our room. Shoutout to Changpu 菖蒲 aunty who packed breakfast for us 💕 I’ll definitely book my stay with this hotel again when I’m back in Shanghai! Only gripe was that during the weekend, the porridge dishes were very quickly finished by other guests and not promptly refilled, but since it’s free it wasn’t that big of a deal, just left us a tiny bit disappointed since it was so yummy! 🥹

MaxX By Steigenberger on the Bund Shanghai is located on the banks of the Huangpu River, the 23-storey hotel’ appearance featues Art Deco in the 1930s. It is not only closely related to the century-old buildings nearby, but also has witnessed the histories of China's shipping development and port construction
The hotel is close to Shanghai Bund, Yu Garden (City God Temple), Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and many other well-known attractions, and is about 15 minutes from Shanghai Railway Station and Shanghai New International Expo Center, about 30 minutes from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao International Airport, and about 45 minutes from Pudong International Airport. The hotel is within walking distance from Metro Line 10 and Line 14 Yuyuan Station.

I ended up upgrading to the Shanghai Suite with River View, and it was truly breathtaking. The view was absolutely stunning ~ definitely a 5star experience. I’m so grateful to Max, who made my stay at the hotel even better.
During our trip, my child had a persistent high fever and developed a full body allergic reaction after taking antibiotics. Max recommended we visit Shanghai Jiao Tong University Hospital, and my child recovered in just two days. I’m truly thankful for Max from the Maxx Hotel.
The food at the hotel was delicious. We especially loved the little robot that delivered items to our room,it was so cute!
The hotel location is super convenient, just right across from The Bund. The bed was very comfortable and the environment was extremely quiet. They even provide a Dyson hairdryer ,no need to bring your own!

Beautiful hotel with well designed lobby and rooms. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Jing An. Staff are super professional, very attentive and look after you well. One downside is a fundamental for a hotel, we didn’t get one good nights sleep. The beds are great but the room was too warm, even in early spring when the temperature was still low outside. However, the air con was very loud, even on low setting, so to sleep you either had the noise or it was too hot. One night there was also very loud road construction noise from outside from 3-5am. It’s a city, so this happens but other hotels in Shanghai that we’ve been to before seem to make it their business to know and take proactive measures in like informing and apologizing to guests in advance, putting guests in rooms away from
the noise, or at least providing earplugs.

My friends in China recommended this hotel and told me that she loves it because it’s relatively inexpensive compared to similar hotels in the area. She also stressed that it is a native Chinese brand hotel that it is easier for her to order food and just anything she needs. I was pleasantly surprised by its decor, service, cleanliness and modern amenities. Our room had a nice big tub, huge shower and toilet with bidet. It’s been a while since I visited Japan and I forgot how nice to have a bidet. The breakfast was a nice addition to our stay since it is included. It served both Chinese and American breakfast with some nice local dishes. The decor is modern Chinese Jiangnan style featuring paintings, Calligraphy, and 3-D animation of gold fishes. I enjoyed working out at the gym as well. Super clean and all equipment are easy to use. There is a Pilate room as well. I didn’t have time to enjoy it. The staff are friendly and helpful. Not to mention that I asked for a power cord, it was delivered by a robot. Five star experience! .

A few things to say.
This was my second stay this hotel, and this time I am glad I haven’t had my family with me.
1. COLD ROOM The room was so cold, even though I tried to adjust the temperature with the A/C it felt like the big glass closed window isn’t properly sealed and cold air from outside was entering the room.
2. LANGUAGE PROBLEMS. I know I am china, but if you work in hotel, special hotel chains and have a regular number of international guests, you should be able to speak a certain english level. I had issue during my check in, and questions that they couldn’t answer me, and also gave me wrong information.
3. BREAKFAST, ok, but could be better!

The St. Regis was absolute perfection from start to finish. The staff were attentive and genuinely caring, the rooms were beyond beautiful, and the breakfasts were nothing short of amazing. Every aspect of the hotel exceeded my expectations.
The art and decor are absolutely stunning — there’s a unique charm and elegance to the space that reminded me of the atmosphere in the BioShock series, which fans of the game will definitely appreciate.
I’ll absolutely be back. Thank you to the entire team at The St. Regis for such an unforgettable experience.

The hotel is in a very good location in the center of shanghai. We were quite excited to sleep in one of shanghai's most famous Towers. The room was very clean, the interior was a little run down (squeaking doors, big scratches on the floor, damaged silicon of bathtub), but everything worked fine. The view was obviously breathtaking!
Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed by the english level of the reception staff. I would have expected differently at a hotel of this status.

CcharmanOur stay at Aman Yangyun was an unforgettable experience for our family.
We arrived at the hotel by taxi from the airport, but we encountered a problem as we couldn’t complete the payment due to issues with our Alipay setup. The hotel staff quickly stepped in, escorting us to the lobby and taking care of the payment on our behalf. Moreover, since the taxi driver had charged us an unreasonably high amount, the staff even negotiated a reduction for us. Their swift and thoughtful actions gave us a great sense of relief.
While every aspect of our stay was exceptional, the following experiences left a particularly lasting impression:
1. **Calligraphy Workshop with the Kids**
We participated in a calligraphy session as a family, where we learned the techniques of writing and created beautiful pieces under the guidance of the instructor.
2. **Cycling Adventures**
We rented bikes and explored the vast forest adjacent to the hotel. The cycling experience was incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating.
3. **New Year’s Fireworks**
At midnight on New Year’s Eve, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky. The sheer volume of fireworks was astonishing—far beyond what you’d expect from a single hotel. It was a truly satisfying experience, and we could tell that a great deal of effort and expense had gone into the celebration.
4. **Peaceful Landscape with Wildlife**
The hotel grounds were home to deer, black swans, and a beautiful river, creating a serene and idyllic landscape that was both calming and delightful.
This stay will remain a cherished memory for our family.

GGuest UserHotel Mia is a nice stylish hotel that is moderately priced in a good neighborhood. The staff did have limited English but with the help of a translator app they were always friendly and accommodating.
We arrived at the hotel early and was able to check in right away which was a great plus. I liked the style of the hotel but the design of the room sink was a bit lacking as it didn’t drain very well. Also the plumbing had a slight unpleasant smell which is probably attributed to being in an old historical area. The windows could also be better insulated as u can hear the street noise which might bother some guests.
GGuest UserOur time at J Hotel was very smooth from check-in to check-out. The interior and amenities are beautiful, it was amazing to see in person although some of the wall and floor marbling have yellowed due to regular wear. The food is also very delicious and there are many varieties and cuisine to choose from. The staff made our stay the most comfortable. They were friendly and very accommodating even during late hours. Miss Eve showed us to our room and offered numerous recommendations outside the hotel. She also helped with personal inquiries and responded in a timely manner. We will definitely stay again in the future!

JJob.JRWe had amazing 4 night stay at Blackstone. I have been to Shanghai for 30+ times and this stay is the best one!
The location is convenient, right in the middle of French Concession. All cool spots are within walking distance and all farther destinations in Puxi are within 10 mins DiDi ride (15-20 RMB)
Although breakfast line is small, it is just right what you need. I love the freshly made sunny side up and dumplings. Salad are very fresh. Croissant is phenomenally great.
Hotel staff are helpful and very attentive to details — service with warmness.
Totally recommend for those who really want to embrace the “real” Shanghai experiences.
SSego FoxIt was great overall. They gave me several desserts for my birthday , they put effort into it which awesome. Their bathroom was probably my favorite thing about the hotel. I wish they would ease up on the regulations for swimming, a lot of effort just to take a dip. Overall a good stay and I’d probably stay here again

TTaliaA Hidden Gem on Wukang Road
The hotel’s location is simply perfect—nestled in the heart of the former French Concession, along the tree-lined Wukang Road. Towering plane trees form a lush green canopy overhead, their branches intertwining like endless emerald tunnels. The neighborhood is dotted with charming boutiques and cafés, making it ideal for leisurely city walks.
The building itself is a masterpiece of architecture—an exquisite work of art. Though compact, it offers just the right amount of space for a tranquil retreat.
Our room was incredibly comfortable, featuring a spacious terrace that opened directly into a small garden. The view was a sea of greenery and blooming flowers. We kept the French doors wide open, letting in the gentle spring breeze. In the evenings, we spent hours on the terrace sipping tea, chatting, and reading. The book left thoughtfully by our bedside, *The Golden Branches and Jade Leaves of Shanghai*, was so engrossing that I couldn’t put it down—even during my bath!
Breakfast the next morning was delightful. Alongside the expected Western-style breakfast set (fitting for a heritage mansion), there was a sweet and unexpected touch: a warm bowl of pumpkin millet congee.
But what truly stood out was the exceptional service. We had ordered two bicycles to bring back to Singapore, but due to reinforced packaging for air transport, they exceeded the airline’s size restrictions. With limited time before our flight, we had to arrange last-minute shipping to a logistics hub in Guangzhou. The front desk staff—Ivy, Ace, and Boris—handled everything with remarkable patience and efficiency. They took charge of the freight arrangements, allowing us to leave for the airport without a single worry.
My only regret? Not finishing that captivating book. I suppose I’ll have to return to the Metropolitan Seclusive Life in Wukang to read the rest.

GGaoAn Unforgettable Stay at The Shanghai Edition – Perfect for Families with Small Children
We recently stayed at The Shanghai Edition Hotel during a family trip with our 2-year-old granddaughter, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, making it a perfect choice for travelers of all ages.
Nestled in the heart of Shanghai, the hotel boasts an ideal location with convenient access to the city’s iconic landmarks. The spectacular view of the Pearl Tower from our room was mesmerizing, especially at night when the tower lit up in vibrant colors.
The staff’s attentiveness and warmth were unmatched. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel at home, providing thoughtful touches to ensure we were comfortable traveling with a small child.
Our room was spacious, elegant, and immaculately clean, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing a breathtaking view of the Pearl Tower. The daily delivery of fresh fruits and drinks was a delightful touch.
The breakfast spread was phenomenal, offering a variety of options to cater to every palate. From fresh pastries and tropical fruits to perfectly prepared egg dishes, it was a feast to look forward to each morning.
The hotel’s restaurants are a destination in themselves. We enjoyed unforgettable meals with stunning views of the Shanghai skyline. The bar on the 28th floor was a particular highlight, offering expertly crafted cocktails and an atmosphere that was both sophisticated and welcoming.
The Shanghai Edition Hotel blends luxury and warmth seamlessly, making it an ideal choice for families traveling with young children. Its prime location, exceptional hospitality, and world-class dining options make it a standout among Shanghai’s luxury hotels. AAnonymous UserAmazing stay! Love the design of the hotel, very stylish. The hotel provide daily free coffee/beer, tho the they were not able to provide everyday due to the closure of restaurant during pre-CNY period, we were still happy with that. It was my birthday and I told the hotel staff, they gave me a piece of cheesecake as gift, thank you so much!
In room, there are free soft drink at the fridge as well.
Everything was great, except the mattress was too soft for me, but it was okay for my boyfriend.
There is an art museum nearby, free admission, highly recommended to visit it.
The location is good, traveling to the bund and XinTienDi with only 15 mins by taxi.
Hotel staff are friendly.
GGuest UserHotel is not bad, but during our stay, most of the common areas were quite cold. Also, water in the main pool was quite cold, as well as the air temperature, making it unpleasant. It is ok for pure swimming, but since it is a family hotel, temperature should be fine also for kids playing. Service in the Merket restaurant was quite poor, while in the Chinese restaurant the service was very good, as well as the food, much better than in the Market. Breakfast is good.
There is a small outside playground with animals. Some of the animals (the cow, the small rodents…) look a little bit suffering.
If you don’t speak Chinese it is quite difficult to understand what kind of activities can be done (in the hotel or with hotel support), and nobody is proposing anything at first.
All in all, not thinking to come back.
