Superb hotel at a quiet yet accessible location. Staff were really friendly, room was very comfortable, usage of space was well thought out of and no smell of smoke at all. Breakfast spread was scrumptious, and they even had free yummy porridge with side dishes for all hotel guests in the evening, which was a very thoughtful gesture! We also really loved the free laundry service which was so convenient and easy to use. Hotel was smart throughout - TV had info about whether the laundry and dryer machines were occupied, and we could order delivery and the robot helper delivered it to our room. Shoutout to Changpu 菖蒲 aunty who packed breakfast for us 💕 I’ll definitely book my stay with this hotel again when I’m back in Shanghai! Only gripe was that during the weekend, the porridge dishes were very quickly finished by other guests and not promptly refilled, but since it’s free it wasn’t that big of a deal, just left us a tiny bit disappointed since it was so yummy! 🥹

MaxX By Steigenberger on the Bund Shanghai is located on the banks of the Huangpu River, the 23-storey hotel’ appearance featues Art Deco in the 1930s. It is not only closely related to the century-old buildings nearby, but also has witnessed the histories of China's shipping development and port construction
The hotel is close to Shanghai Bund, Yu Garden (City God Temple), Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and many other well-known attractions, and is about 15 minutes from Shanghai Railway Station and Shanghai New International Expo Center, about 30 minutes from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao International Airport, and about 45 minutes from Pudong International Airport. The hotel is within walking distance from Metro Line 10 and Line 14 Yuyuan Station.

We love everything about this hotel! We have a spectacular view of the Bund from our window. The hotel has easy access to shopping, ferry, river cruises, hop-on-and-hop-off while it is about half a mile away from the epicenter of crowds. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The room is well-appointed and the bathroom is luxurious and super clean. The beds are firm and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is top notch and reasonably priced. It is a very good deal for a busy day in the city where food can be expensive. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Shanghai.

A few things to say.
This was my second stay this hotel, and this time I am glad I haven’t had my family with me.
1. COLD ROOM The room was so cold, even though I tried to adjust the temperature with the A/C it felt like the big glass closed window isn’t properly sealed and cold air from outside was entering the room.
2. LANGUAGE PROBLEMS. I know I am china, but if you work in hotel, special hotel chains and have a regular number of international guests, you should be able to speak a certain english level. I had issue during my check in, and questions that they couldn’t answer me, and also gave me wrong information.
3. BREAKFAST, ok, but could be better!

I recently stayed at the Crystal Hotel Shanghai, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every way. The hotel was impeccably clean and well-managed, making my stay extremely comfortable from start to finish. The staff was exceptionally helpful and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile.
The highlight of my stay was the innovative touch of having a robot deliver my order right to my door. It added a unique and futuristic experience to the already impressive service. I was genuinely delighted by this feature, which made my stay memorable.

This was one of my best hotel stays by far in Shanghai. The service, the suite and the Bund view were beyond amazing. I came to the hotel for my birthday and stayed 2 nights. The hotel beautifully decorated my suite and had a nice chocolate cake prepared for me. I have to give special appreciation to the manager Ms. Kimmie. She really took the time to welcome me and made sure all my needs were met. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a true 5 star hotel experience.

Nothing much nearby. Not for shopping trip. Room is clean and big, strong aircon, but bed quality can be improved. Noticed almost all the appliances in the hotel and toilet amenities are local brand. Good to create local brand awareness and so far everything works well except for their coffee machine in the cafe. Breakfast spread is acceptable but cannot compare to international branded hotels. Coffee is HORRIBLE, please change your coffee machine.. cooked food is cold and not properly covered and saw flies around the food. If you do not have local chinese phone, u cannot connect to their wifi. Television shows all local channels. Price point is almost the same as some international brand names but overall gives off a feeling that they are actually more inclined towards local chinese customers. Staff attitude is excellent but a little too pushy to keep asking you for a 5 star rating review online. Overall still a pleasant stay. Thanks.

Our stay at Aman Yangyun was an unforgettable experience for our family.
We arrived at the hotel by taxi from the airport, but we encountered a problem as we couldn’t complete the payment due to issues with our Alipay setup. The hotel staff quickly stepped in, escorting us to the lobby and taking care of the payment on our behalf. Moreover, since the taxi driver had charged us an unreasonably high amount, the staff even negotiated a reduction for us. Their swift and thoughtful actions gave us a great sense of relief.
While every aspect of our stay was exceptional, the following experiences left a particularly lasting impression:
1. **Calligraphy Workshop with the Kids**
We participated in a calligraphy session as a family, where we learned the techniques of writing and created beautiful pieces under the guidance of the instructor.
2. **Cycling Adventures**
We rented bikes and explored the vast forest adjacent to the hotel. The cycling experience was incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating.
3. **New Year’s Fireworks**
At midnight on New Year’s Eve, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky. The sheer volume of fireworks was astonishing—far beyond what you’d expect from a single hotel. It was a truly satisfying experience, and we could tell that a great deal of effort and expense had gone into the celebration.
4. **Peaceful Landscape with Wildlife**
The hotel grounds were home to deer, black swans, and a beautiful river, creating a serene and idyllic landscape that was both calming and delightful.
This stay will remain a cherished memory for our family.

GGuest UserThank you to the JHotel staff and especially to our Butler Ms. Joyce! The team really went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, including helping us with fixing our toddler’s toy and blowing up balloons. The Yi Lounge offered delightful afternoon tea with happy hour; and, even a “magic show” from the staff for our kid at the bar. The hotel design is exquisite; contemporary, bright, and equal parts sophisticated and cheerful. Centouno and Heavenly Jin restaurants provided excellent service along with delectable, aesthetically pleasing gastronomic creations. We greatly appreciate your hospitality toward families with young children, especially our rambunctious one who’s rather destructive. We’ll certainly be back to celebrate special occasions!

Room very comfy and good amenity as well, next time I will comeback to stay this hotel.
AAdamwskI recently stayed at Blackstone M+ Hotel in Shanghai, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations.
While I genuinely appreciate the hotel's intriguing and thoughtfully designed interiors, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness standards and the quality of in-room amenities.
Upon checking in, we discovered a large, unused sickness bag left behind the sofa — a clear oversight by the housekeeping team. What was even more surprising was that despite staying for two nights and having daily housekeeping, the sickness bag remained untouched throughout our stay.
The overall cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. Thick layers of dust were clearly visible across various surfaces, especially on the lighting fixtures and decorative ornaments, which suggested a lack of attention to detail in the room's upkeep.
Although the hotel does provide a Dyson hairdryer, which is a thoughtful touch, it was disappointing to find the unit's filter in the state of dusty and evidently not properly cleaned, diminishing its functionality. Additionally, the generic toiletries provided felt rather underwhelming, especially when compared to the hotel’s above-average room rates.
For a hotel that positions itself with such stylish design, I believe greater emphasis on housekeeping and guest comfort would truly elevate the experience.
BBestbossAlthough my stay was good ! but there's some point that has disappointed me. I wanted to use swimming pool but do to typhoon they closed open swimming pool. It wasn't raining and the wind wasn't so high but they still closed it for 2 days. Also there's no movies on hotel tv and I cannot connect my Apple tv although the tv has this function but they blocked it sp i couldn't connect to the tv and broadcast the movie on tv . The problem this hotel is new but the sealing in common areas is leaking and I had drops dropping on my face at common places , not in the room. The room was good and fine. Breakfast was ok. But I kinda wanted fresh juice. Stuff in hotel was nice but they recognized me and told me about seeing me somewhere before in various locations, I didn't feel comfortable because I prefer to be anonymous in hotel and this one is not cheap. And I want my privacy and anonymity i don't blame stuff but this is just my note. And there was a note that i can use shuttle bus to the shopping mall which is around 17 minutes walk but when i ask about it the staff said its not available on weekends. Then i asked maybe they have car to drop me to the shopping mall they said they don't have. Just saying Because I couldn't rent a hotel downtown for the same amount of money of a big chain brand and get outstanding service but I think the price of this hotel is overpriced. Although my stay was good and I reserved complements from hotel which I thankfull. And the room was clean and high technology.

GGuest UserI've previously stayed in the Drama, though it has been a number of years. The facilities are as I remember them to be. That is remarkable, given that the Drama has been in operation for a number of years. The Hotel staff have prioritised maintenance and have done a good job at keeping the place reasonably refreshed.
The hospitality showed to me was wonderful. I did not feel out of place or neglected at any point during the 5 days I was with the Drama. From the Front Desk, to Housekeeping and even Maintenance, everyone was kind, courteous and warm in making me feel at home. As one small example of the hospitality - the Drama had an arrangement where simple supper was provided for all occupants. It felt nice to come back from a long day exploring Shanghai to a bowl of warm porridge.
I would definitely return to the Drama again. Looking forward to my next visit!

Hhillbilly PA very modern and stylish hotel. We really liked the skylight in the room as well as the separate toilet and shower areas. The room also had many hooks for us to hang things which we thought helped a lot in organising our luggage. The lobby was really stylish and the beers and coffee that you are able to claim for free daily were delicious. The area around the hotel is also really cool. There are museums and I think a school but it is all very stylish and they look really pretty.
The hotel is not really walking distance from any metro stations (in the winter) but if you have the Chinese apps, Alipay or Mei Tuan, you can book bicycle from right outside the hotel and cycle to the nearest Metro station about a six minute cycle. There are also not many food options nearby. There is however one 快餐店which opens late (11pm). I want to thank the staff at the lobby for entertaining our late checkout request because we had missed our train from another region.
GGaoAn Unforgettable Stay at The Shanghai Edition – Perfect for Families with Small Children
We recently stayed at The Shanghai Edition Hotel during a family trip with our 2-year-old granddaughter, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, making it a perfect choice for travelers of all ages.
Nestled in the heart of Shanghai, the hotel boasts an ideal location with convenient access to the city’s iconic landmarks. The spectacular view of the Pearl Tower from our room was mesmerizing, especially at night when the tower lit up in vibrant colors.
The staff’s attentiveness and warmth were unmatched. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel at home, providing thoughtful touches to ensure we were comfortable traveling with a small child.
Our room was spacious, elegant, and immaculately clean, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing a breathtaking view of the Pearl Tower. The daily delivery of fresh fruits and drinks was a delightful touch.
The breakfast spread was phenomenal, offering a variety of options to cater to every palate. From fresh pastries and tropical fruits to perfectly prepared egg dishes, it was a feast to look forward to each morning.
The hotel’s restaurants are a destination in themselves. We enjoyed unforgettable meals with stunning views of the Shanghai skyline. The bar on the 28th floor was a particular highlight, offering expertly crafted cocktails and an atmosphere that was both sophisticated and welcoming.
The Shanghai Edition Hotel blends luxury and warmth seamlessly, making it an ideal choice for families traveling with young children. Its prime location, exceptional hospitality, and world-class dining options make it a standout among Shanghai’s luxury hotels. Whether you’re here for leisure or family travel, this hotel is an experience not to be missed.

Very Good
GGuest UserHotel is not bad, but during our stay, most of the common areas were quite cold. Also, water in the main pool was quite cold, as well as the air temperature, making it unpleasant. It is ok for pure swimming, but since it is a family hotel, temperature should be fine also for kids playing. Service in the Merket restaurant was quite poor, while in the Chinese restaurant the service was very good, as well as the food, much better than in the Market. Breakfast is good.
There is a small outside playground with animals. Some of the animals (the cow, the small rodents…) look a little bit suffering.
If you don’t speak Chinese it is quite difficult to understand what kind of activities can be done (in the hotel or with hotel support), and nobody is proposing anything at first.
All in all, not thinking to come back.

AAsim89It’s a great hotel, great location and amazing staff who are attentive and kind.
If I’m honest the only downfall was the dog barking in the room next door (they are allowed so I can’t be that mad…and it did stop), and the Michelin food festival on the rooftop across. Not because people could see us on the balcony, but whoever hired that band needs to be evaluated.
Highly recommend, would stay again.
