First time in China, I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised at the standard of this hotel.
The metropolo doesn't try to be anything other that a good hotel, it's not positioning itself in particular category or targeting a particular audience, it just wants to do the best it can.
The location was great, the staff were efficient, the rooms were clean and the food was good. What I liked most about this hotel was the sense of history, this is not a 20th century new build, but a very old building from the 1800s modernised in the 1930s and they have done a great job at keeping up with technology without losing any character.
If there had been a bar or lounge area to sit on an evening, I probably would have given it 5 stars.
If I return to Shanghai, which I hope to do, I would have no hesitation in returning to the metropolo.

First time staying here, & can't at all fault it for its location! Very short walk to all the bund attractions, & not too far from the metro station. The building & surrounding area are very art deco, which feels specifically Shanghai. In fact, I'm fairly sure I saw it in a movie recently.
Rooms are nothing to write home about, but absolutely acceptable given the price compared to other Shanghai hotels. Clean, all the needed amenities. Good central place to get your head down at quite a low price.

Our second check-in at this hotel in 3 days, excellent location for exploring Nanjing walking street, and short walk to The Bund. Thank you for upgrading our room to a luxurious Family suite, with river view from balcony.

Convenient & Comfortable, But Air Conditioning Issues
This hotel has a fantastic location right above Line 8 Dashijie Metro Station, making it extremely easy to explore Shanghai. Car hailing services can pick up and drop off directly in front, which is very convenient.
The beds were comfortable and the shower had strong water pressure, a big plus. The breakfast was decent, though the variety didn’t change much during our stay. The staff were helpful, and a few spoke English, which was great for communication.
A standout feature was the bidet in the toilet, something rare to find in China and much appreciated!
However, the air conditioning wasn’t working during our 3 night stay due to the hotel’s old system requiring maintenance. We were given a table fan, which wasn’t ideal, especially in warmer weather. The hotel did offer us the option to cancel our stay, but we decided to stay because of the many other positives.
Overall, this is a good hotel with great amenities and service, but the AC issue was a significant downside. If that gets fixed, it would be a much smoother experience.
Great hotel, I love the decor, it was well kept and very clean, and stylish. Breakfast was good enough, a nice selection of Chinese foods, not too many western options but was adequate.
On our first night, my luggage was stuck and could not open, the kind receptionist called their service man, at 11pm and with a screwdriver they managed to pop open my luggage thankfully! Unlimited supply of water and very responsible housekeeping!
Wished there was a pool as Shanghai is incredibly hot but for this price, no complaints!!!

I recently stayed at the JinJiang Metropolo Hua Ting Guest House and had an overall enjoyable experience. The hotel offers a nice blend of traditional Chinese charm with modern conveniences. The architecture and décor create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind after a long day.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the basic amenities needed for a relaxing stay. However, the room lacked a minibar, which would have been a nice addition. The bed was comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a great job of keeping everything tidy throughout my stay.
One of the standout features of this hotel is its convenient location, with easy access to nearby attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or requests.
Breakfast offered a decent selection of both Chinese and Western options, though it could be improved with a bit more variety.
Overall, JinJiang Metropolo Hua Ting Guest House is a good option for travelers looking for a comfortable stay with a touch of traditional ambiance. I would consider staying here again on my next visit!
The hotel lobby is very grand, the decoration is very nice, the service is very meticulous, and every aspect is taken into consideration. The environment and sanitation are very good. The front desk staff is also very enthusiastic, the service is super good, the check-in is fast, the room has floor-to-ceiling windows, the breakfast is also very rich, and the stay is very comfortable. It's great. Like Lily

This is an older hotel, but it has wonderfully maintained its unique style and charm. It has such a great ambiance that it makes you want to extend your stay. Getting to the room felt a bit like an escape room, with several sets of stairs leading up to it. The room itself was quite spacious, and the air conditioning worked well, though it occasionally made a gurgling sound. The bathroom was very well-lit. As it's an older establishment, the facilities aren't as modernized; there are no robot services, and you have to go down to pick up your own food deliveries. Also, public transportation (bus and subway) is a bit of a walk away, but taxis are readily available and quite convenient.
the hotel was under renovation. I was told by the staff that it is at the rooftop but I don't understand why he still put us at the highest level despite they are ample of rooms at the lower level. I have changed the room for 2 times: the first room there was a very smoke smell even though it is a non smoking room, and I only got the room that satisfied me when I make the 2nd changes.
The location is very near to the metro station, about 2 mins walk but the metro line itself is not a common line so you have to make a few interchange, which I feel it is a little inconvenient to me.
Staffs are not as friendly as the Atour I stayed in Hangzhou.
The overall facilities are OK and there is no major problem. We were not picky about the accommodation, but we have to say that the stay was uncomfortable. One is that the smell is really unpleasant, but it can be tolerated. The second is that the sound insulation is very poor. The snoring next door made us unable to sleep in the middle of the night, and some girls talked loudly in the middle of the night, which caused headaches. The third is to stay for two days and only give toothpaste for one day, and call to say that it will be delivered immediately, but it has not been delivered the next day. In general, if there is no better choice, you can still choose. The attitude of the front desk is good, it is very close to the subway entrance, and the location is not in the busy city, but it is clean.

GGuest UserParent-child holiday treasure hotel! The children's room is equipped with tent picture books and starry sky projectors, and the outdoor lawn has a cute pet feeding area and a small go-kart. The parent-child kitchen experience is full of fun to make Chongming cakes. On weekends, there is a natural teacher to lead the team to observe the wetland. The bathroom is equipped with children's foot stools and cartoon teeth, and the bed is installed safely in advance. It is a 5-minute drive from Changxing Island Country Park. You can book tickets for the citrus garden during the picking season. The housekeeper helps to make an appointment for the return taxi.

GGuest UserThe hotel is right opposite the subway entrance, very close. The room is also very big. When I opened the door of the windowless room, I thought it was a paper on the floor-to-ceiling glass. I found out it was the light at night. The designer is really a genius! It's the first time I've stayed in such a bright windowless room.

GGuest UserThe hotel room is clean, bright and comfortable. It is also very convenient to travel around. Line 2 can go directly to Nanjing East Road, Shanghai Bund. The service of Xiao Yin at the front desk is very good. The breakfast is also delicious and the price is very suitable. It is a hotel worth recommending. It is not easy to find a hotel with super cost-effectiveness during the Golden Week. Parking is convenient and free.
