IIt's a cute accommodation. A place where Chinese history rests and I felt it every time when an older Chinese man passed me by in the corridor. The smell of old school freshness coming from ultra fine shaven skin. Maybe a little lost and confused about how times changes and what globalization causes, for some of us. Us, because for me as a true globalist, times preciously still breathes. Tradition, it gushes out of the walls of this accommodation. The warm greetings from the ”old establishment” made me feel like home. It made me realize that the inner soul is open for the new ones, the anti-separatist and anti-segregates.
There are, unfortunately and comparing to other areas of Shanghai where I've bene, also Europeans. I didn't see them in other areas except in Pudong. They made me feel not welcome. They made me feel as if ”home” would always hunt me down and tried to make me feel like one of the undesirables. It made some employees left a bit confused. ”What should I do?” handle it like a pro, and that's exactly what they managed to do. From stepping into the entrance all the way up to my room. It felt warm, it even cooled down the scattering heat from outside. Sometimes they left the door open. As if they wanted to make everyone feel comfortable. The cool air approaching me when I was nearly at ”home”. And at the end, it really did make me feel very desired. As if everyone on this planet counts.
Every time when I opened the door of my room, I felt an even cooler welcome pulling me in to work even harder on my projects. The ”older” furniture, the warmth coming from the wood entering my soul, combined with the cool enough A/C, and the little bit noisy traffic made me realize how Shanghai was built upon and by who. I feel proud of the establishment of Shanghai as a whole. An energetic city, but it will always remain the traditions what made the city big. The sound of the oversized vessels slowly finding their way out of the business and gently flow away into a nothingness of blue waves, thriven what will make the city even bigger as it already is.
The somewhat older flatscreen television on the wall is still hanging proudly in its socket. Showing where the new digital era started. I didn't use the television. I always leave them for what they are, but this one attracted my attention. Shall I open it? No, I'm in Shanghai and there's way too many good things to do, instead of washing my brains. It left it as it was, because I didn't want to ruin the warm feeling that I felt.
Okay, back to work, because productivity is waiting. Ready for new creations. Nothing is perfect and there was a minor misunderstanding, but I will never forget to realize that the negative Latin European impulses where there. The oil that makes fire burn harder on a warm plate. Back to where I am and that's not in propaganda machine Latin Europe. I'm in pretty Shanghai. Pleasantly warm outside, because that's what Shanghai is. Little bit sweaty outside, but nice and chilling indoors.
The food in the area. I'm incredibly addicted to the spicy Chinese food. It makes me as happy as if I'm high as a kite floating around on green stuff we smoke in Europe. It also was the only moment when I realized what the reason was for me to touch that green stuff which only messes up my lungs and a little bit of my mental health. But that was already a bit messed up.
And the staff, they saw it. Some of them tried to acknowledge me that they saw something. That they realized I carried a lot on my back instead of two backpacks. And the made me realize that it's over and out. I left Europe for what it is. And when I look back on them, I will always look down. With my nose risen high into the sky. Thank you so much for this personal experience to the staff of this lovely accommodation.
And trip.com, you're even more than fabulous.

Initially our choice of hotel was pearl hotel, however we decided to change our hotel to dorsett. This is a gem location for a Muslim family/travellers to look into. The hotel is just located next to the metro and family mart (directly back door access) also walking distance up to 3 halal food found! Refer to photo for reference (we only manage to dine in two halal food nearby hotel). We booked a deluxe Parkview room for the bathtub choice, however photo in trip.com even after I made a call prior to the hotel it has a bathtub but during check in there isn't. Long story short, reception offered an upgrade to the studio room which is bigger in size and bathtub for kiddos! Appreciate the swift response! This hotel offered 24/7 laundry + dryer services FOC! 😉

The hotel is ok for the price but not recommended when you cannot speak fluent Mandarin. We had a bad experience with a night shift staff who was very rude... Playing games while we were having trouble locating our daughter's phone dropped inside Didi taxi. He was oblivious and very unhelpful. We took a video of him playing games right in front of the counter and showed this to his manager. His manager made it up to us by helping us talk to the Didi driver and retrieiving the lost phone. But the staff playing games in front of a client while on duty is unacceptable. In contrast, there's a very hard working staff who keeps looking for ways to help people. Mr. Zhang. I took a picture of him to commend his efforts in welcoming guests and bringing tea to those seated. Internet here is terribly unstable and unreliable. Generous access to bottled water, coffee and tea. Breakfast is ok. Many good restaurants around to try. Especially the one across Little Camel BBQ and right beside crab roe xiao long bao.

We were a party of four: myself, my two children, and my mother. When booking, I specifically requested a high and quiet floor. We were given a room on the 12th floor with two beds, and the window overlooked a school playground, which was blissfully quiet during the summer holidays.
Breakfast was included and incredibly generous, offering a fantastic mix of Chinese and Western options. There were stir-fries, fried dishes, freshly prepared items, fruits, drinks, milk, soy milk, eggs, cakes, bread, salads, and more. They were also very quick to replenish dishes on the buffet. Considering its location in economically developed Pudong, this hotel offers excellent value for money!
While the room size was average, it was very practical. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower room, though a bit compact, had excellent water pressure, and there was convenient counter space around the sink for toiletries.
With three elevators, waiting times were minimal. The laundry room was well-equipped; the washing machines are front-loading washer-dryer combos, with separate dryers available on the upper level. Cotton clothes dried in about 20 minutes on high heat. They even provided clean laundry bags and complimentary sewing kits.
Upon entering the hotel, guests can enjoy a variety of complimentary infused waters. In the evenings, several types of congee are also offered free of charge. The staff, though seemingly young, were incredibly enthusiastic and helpful. The front desk, in particular, was exceptional – they were always ready to assist and acted immediately on any request, which was truly commendable.

This is an established four-star hotel, and its location perfectly suited my itinerary, so I decided to stay for several nights.
The room service on the 11th floor was exceptionally professional, including turndown service and neatly folded bathrobes. While the facilities felt a bit dated, the professional service really stood out – something I always appreciate in a 4-star hotel or higher during my business trips. They even provided extra bottles of water when they noticed we had a child. Huge kudos to the staff on the 11th floor!
Bed: The 1.8-meter bed had a perfectly firm yet soft mattress, ensuring a very comfortable sleep.
Restaurant: The sunken restaurant, Q, had a distinct Southeast Asian ambiance.
Value for money: Excellent. For a chain hotel, the pricing was unbeatable, and the superb location made it incredibly convenient to get around.
Front desk service: The front desk service was also very professional, quick, and efficient – truly commendable.
They also had several robots delivering food, and the elevators required key card access, which provided a full sense of security.

I recently stayed at a fantastic hotel and had an amazing experience. The staff ( FD Heidi ) were inredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. The room was spacious and confortable, and the amenities were top-notch. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay .
The swimming pool and sauna are absolutely fantastic. The hotel's breakfast in the morning is also abundant and nutritious. The hotel staff are very friendly and patiently helped with the luggage. The hotel's cookies are really special.Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my experience here. From the moment I checked in, every aspect has left a positive impression—whether it's the fantastic swimming pool and sauna that offer such a relaxing retreat, the morning breakfast spread that's not only abundant but also thoughtfully prepared with nutrition in mind, the staff who are always so friendly and go out of their way to help with luggage (and so much more) with genuine patience, or even the little touches like those uniquely delicious cookies that add such a nice surprise. It truly feels like a place that cares about its guests, and I couldn't ask for a better stay.
设施:The amenities are comprehensive and well-appointed.
卫生:The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable.
环境:The environment is elegant and graceful.
服务:The service is meticulous and considerate.

The hotel is very well located, very close to the metro station, with several dining options in the vicinity, which is very convenient. The staff is very friendly.
The facilities are fine, the room is very nice, very spacious, clean, and has good amenities. In addition, I was able to use the washing machines and gym for free without any problems. Breakfast is a buffet, varied, and has several options for Westerners as well.
Personally, what I didn't like is that all the time, when I left my room, I saw all the garbage and clutter from when they cleaned other rooms, which wasn't very nice. I show it in the photos. Also, the coffee and tea offered in the room were all expired. I noticed after trying one, and it tasted very bad.
In short, the hotel is fine for the price you pay; it would simply be better if those details were corrected.

The breakfast selection was incredibly diverse, catering well to both halal and vegetarian diets, and the dining area was very spacious. At the noodle station, they consistently had freshly prepared wonton noodles ready to serve, so you didn't have to order and wait in line – this is a significant improvement compared to many other hotels.
However, we booked a family room, and several children's amenities that were supposed to be included in the package were missing. I was informed that they had run out due to high demand during the summer season, and new stock hadn't arrived yet. I wonder whose oversight this falls under? Shouldn't the housekeeping supervisor be checking on such things?

When I arrived, the first thing I looked for was the sign at the entrance – it truly felt like I was staying in a protected heritage site! 😊 It was quite a unique experience.
The building itself isn't large, but it's full of antique charm. It's newly renovated, and the room looked exactly like the photos advertised. While the overall building is compact, the room itself was surprisingly spacious for a hotel. The best part, and you'll realize it once you're there, is the fantastic natural light. It beautifully illuminates the aged walls, tiles, and doorways, creating a truly stunning atmosphere.
When I checked in, the hotel informed me about some activities. Initially, I thought they would be group sessions. However, they turned out to be one-on-one: a very professional cocktail-making class and an incredibly dedicated incense crafting session.
I had already checked out, as my schedule had kept me from attending these activities. But the hotel staff went out of their way to arrange them for me at a different time slot. I'm extremely grateful for their thoughtfulness.
If you're planning to stay here, I highly recommend including the hotel activities in your itinerary; they are genuinely worthwhile. I can't recall the bartender's name, but he was incredibly knowledgeable, explaining various spirits and their history, and I ended up trying several drinks. The incense crafting instructor was a lovely lady named Alice, who was incredibly patient and attentive, especially since my little one is quite young; she guided us through it very carefully.

FFangjiabobaoyuanMy stay at this hotel was absolutely fantastic! The room layout was very well-designed, feeling spacious and bright the moment I walked in. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with soft and fluffy bedding, guaranteeing a great night's sleep. The sofa in the living area was also fantastic; its color scheme perfectly complemented the room's overall style. It was wonderfully soft, making it very pleasant to relax and watch TV. The TV offered crisp picture quality, and the thoughtful window-side design ensured excellent natural light. With the sun streaming in during the day, the entire room felt wonderfully warm and inviting. Cleanliness was also impeccable; every corner was spotless.

GGuest UserI recently stayed at the Hotel Mumian Shanghai Expo for 4 days and enjoyed it so much that I extended for another 2.
A major highlight was the service at the front desk, particularly from Michael. His English is excellent, and he was incredibly helpful, offering thoughtful suggestions and guidance throughout our stay. He was always proactive in checking on us to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
The hotel maintains high standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Our room was smart and modern, featuring high-tech electronic toilets with bidet functions, which was a great relief, especially one who is used with it.
My only small suggestion would be to have more variety in the breakfast options, as the selection seemed to repeat daily.
Despite that, I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel, especially for the exceptional service from staff like Michael.

AAnanziFirst, the cons: After checking in, when I pulled back the covers, I noticed a small stain on the bed. It looked like an old, persistent mark, which was a bit off-putting. 🤣🤣🤣
Now, for the pros: The location is excellent, with a dedicated pick-up/drop-off point. The hotel's environment is quite good; the lobby and corridors were well-maintained and clean. Delivery of tissues and toiletries was also very prompt. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, even assisting me with sending/receiving express packages, which I greatly appreciated.

GGuest UserThe room was small but had everything you need, except for the lack of shower slippers.
Aside from the poor soundproofing, everything else was fine. The robot delivery service was very convenient.
As for cleanliness, it seems they have a maid come every afternoon. If this bothers you, you might want to let the front desk know in advance. Otherwise, everything else was fine.

YYilubenbodexiaomifengIt's about 400 meters away from the subway, which is quite convenient. There is really no sound insulation at all, and the air conditioning is ineffective. The service is commendable, and you can see that they are very responsible. As for breakfast, I can only say that there is something. The gap in the curtains makes it impossible for those who want to sleep in. Don't ask me why they don't close it.

AAnonymous UserWe booked this hotel halfway after visiting the Bund. We checked in too late. The hotel was very considerate and called us to confirm the itinerary. It was really more cost-effective than other hotels we stayed in Shanghai in the past few days. It was not far to Metro and it was about ten yuan cheaper to call an online taxi. We brought children with us, and the front desk was considerate to give children disposable slippers. It is also very close to the subway station. Longyang Square is right outside the subway station. It takes less than ten minutes to walk to the hotel. There are also many things to eat and play around. Highly recommended.....

GGuest UserFor a single room, it is appropriate to think of it as a goshiwon room with a private bathroom.
The facilities are old, but there are no broken items, and both hot and cold water flow well.
Changqing Road subway station is less than 100 meters away, and it is 2 subway stops to the Shanghai International Expo exhibition center without transfers.
It is about 15 to 20 minutes on foot to the exhibition center, and there are many local restaurants near the subway station.
The front desk does not speak any language other than Chinese. (A translator is essential.)
It is a very cost-effective accommodation for accommodation for attending the exhibition.
However, for tourism purposes, it is lacking in facilities and cleanliness.
