These buildings have been carefully and lovingly restored through the efforts of the property owner and a dedicated architect—both men were at the homestay during my visit, which was a treat. Comfy bed, delicious food, lovely and attentive staff—if you need anything, just ask. I enjoyed just wandering around and getting lost in the village. Oh yes, I do not speak Chinese and traveled alone, but the owner speaks perfect English and contacted me in advance of my stay. He added me on WeChat and was hugely supportive in getting me to Chengyang and Lost World from Longji area. The staff were ready with Baidu translator so communication was a breeze.
