My wife and I had a grand stay using this historic hotel as our base as we export Rotterdam for a weekend getaway. So much to see and with the Watertaxi it’s easy to get about. The hotel called a week ahead of arrival to check in and see if they could help with anything which was handy figuring out the best way to arrive. We had a nightcap in the buzzy bar before turning in. Breakfast the next day was in a grand room full of nautical touches and with a full array of breakfast choices. Staff were always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a place with great beds and friendly staff to get your head down, then I can't rate the Emma Hotel highly enough! After checking in and taking the lift, (yes I said lift, something which isn't easy to find with reasonably priced accommodation in Rotterdam), up to our floor, we made our way to the 'Superior room'. Upon first entering the room we were very pleased with size of it. There was a small entry hall with a shelf for your bag and hat etc and hooks for your coats. To the right was the bathroom and ahead the main room equipped with the bed, TV, chair, desk, coffee machine and mini fridge. The large, almost full-length windows give the room an even more spacious feel with lots of light and a nice view over the street of this great central location, which was great for people watching or looking at some of the crazy driving out there!! The bed looked clean and comfy and the requested extra 2 pillows had been added :) The bathroom was one of the highlights of this accommodation, it was large with sufficient towels and toilet paper and a large radiator which kept the room warm and your towels toasty for drying off after enjoying some relaxation in the amazing bath!!. Though not long, it was deep and great for some recharge time, with a glass of wine, after walking around exploring Rotterdam through the day. The shower was small but sufficient, I would say the water was rather cool from the shower and couldn't be put up any higher. A bit of a shame, but certainly not a deal breaker if I was to visit Rotterdam again. After a long day and a great bath the bed was next to try and I will say I slept like a baby. The bed was very comfy. I have back issues and some beds aggravate it terribly, but I had absolutely no problems in the morning after sleeping here. The pillows may be a bit too thick for me, but this is a subjective view and I think many places have these overly fat pillows. The staff were always very friendly and there were never any issues getting in or out of the hotel, even outside normal hours. Your door keycard works until the evening, when for security you need to ring the bell for the receptionist to let you in. You can also use the Emma website. By entering your booking within the website, you can open the front door to the hotel and also your room door. I found this a very very handy addition. If all this wasn't enough to convince you to stay with the Emma Hotel. The coffee in the foyer will. It's free and honestly some of the best coffee I had while in Rotterdam. There is also tea and biscuits on offer. I made good use of this facility and was grateful for its presence. Overall, I rate the Emma Hotel 5/5. I went to Rotterdam for a weekend with a friend. The location of this hotel was ideal. Central location, 10min walk from the station and the center. Breakfast is until 10 am, but that also means that at 10 am there is nothing or not much choice left. We had also asked through Trip for 2 separate beds and once there we had 1 double. Because the room is always quite warm, this was not so pleasant. We also slept on the street side so we had some noise from the street. Coffee machine and kettle in the room with free coffee and tea was a plus

Great location, easy to get around in Rotterdam. If you are a bit sensitive to noise , better ask for a room far away from the elevator. Highlight is definitely the breakfast buffet team - thanks a lot for the great service and smiles despite a high stress level in the morning.

Booked this in a rush without checking TA - big mistake. On checking in the staff (who were the only positive) handed me some ear plugs !. At this point I considered walking to another hotel (should have done). You will not get any sleep here - with earplugs in the street noise was almost bearable (soft thudding of the nearby club) however the paper thin walls internally meant you could loudly hear other residents - I’m a heavy sleeper and was woken up at 4:45 (after finally getting to sleep at 1) - now this didn’t seem to be loud partygoers, just people talking relatively loudly managed to wake me up with earplugs in !!. WiFi/tv etc all fine, no air con so hot, but the other thing was I read these reviews before I went to bed on bedbugs. To be clear I didn’t see any - but to mitigate I slept above the covers with a long sleeve T-shirt. I do have a bite on my ankle but that may be a mozzie / happened elsewhere. This place is only fit for people on a big night out - get smashed, pass out on the bed, leave as it is in a great location. Anyone else heed the above - harder to enjoy a great city with no sleep.

Apartment hotel with very complete equipment. The location is very convenient. The fly in the ointment is that the toilet ventilation equipment is not effective, causing humidity to be quite heavy. The elevator that parked the car was very, very just right, and you had to be very careful to not arrive.

Don’t usually say this but I was truly blown away with the decor and design of this hotel! We had ‘loft’ room in the older part of the building with high ceilings which was beautifully decorated throughout, with three huge windows which we were able to open - something I really appreciate in hotels. Large desk and seating area was great for working and for the night we chose to order in, staff even gave us plates and silverware for our order which was a nice touch. Also really appreciated the separate shower and toilet rooms as well as the underfloor heating, and the bed was incredibly comfortable! Didn’t use the restaurant but the bar area was beautifully decorated and had a good atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and also allowed us to leave luggage upon check out. Super handy for the tram too and a lidl underneath, would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel with extraordinarily helpful staff. The check-in was prompt and very much appreciated as we'd had a long journey from Canada. The room was beautifully appointed and had an amazing view of the Erasmus bridge. The morning staff at the restaurant were warm and friendly. Make sure you have tap on your credit or debit card; the snacks and umbrella rentals required this!

The street setting is relaxing, close to a tram stop (21/23 and 24) which go to the central station, but the station is a 20-minute walk away. It faces a small green canal, there are 2 cafes at the bottom of the street and if you go up Middellandplein towards the working-class district there is a supermarket and a bakery. The room was as shown in the photos, with a large bed, a beautiful tiled bathroom, comfortable and clean bedding. The TV has a connection system with a laptop or PC, it's perfect. The bathroom has a 2-jet shower, it's great. The building was rather quiet, a lot of music from the neighbors, but it wasn't too annoying. You need an app to open the doors, I admit that annoyed me a little because it uses the battery + Bluetooth and GPS, except when abroad the phone is used quite a bit, so no more battery. I had to stop at a café to charge it so I could make sure I got back. No trash can in the room. and the bathroom door is glass, so when you go to the toilet or shower the neighbors see you because there is a (very) direct view. A bit mixed on the way it is explained in the ad, that we are autonomous and that we can take what we need ourselves (eg if the customers want coffee or fresh towels they just have to help themselves). However, there is no shared kitchen as indicated in the ad. If there was, there would be a microwave, fridge and dishes. There are just cupboards in the hall and a sink (see photos). And when I asked for coffee because they skipped it in my room, I was asked to go buy it myself for the 4 days I was there... And I was cold the last 2 nights, I didn't dare ask for a blanket because they didn't want to have someone come in before. And there is no cleaning service during your stay either. Hotels do that, give you refills of drinks if needed, blankets or come and empty the trash. For me it's wrong to call it a hotel when the service is non-existent. Even a bed and breakfast or a gîte follows up on these requests...

As per the title. Easy way to check in and check out. You could do this without even speaking to anyone throughout your stay. Small room, with the big, comfy bed taking almost a third of the room space. Exactly what I need for a business trip, meeting clients, at a competitive/affordable rate for accommodation.
