Romantic Hotels in Yufu

The room was OK, but the balcony was designed to be lonely and could not be connected to the yard. The hot spring hotels I stayed in Japan were all very cost-effective. For a price of 4,000 yuan, there was only a small public hot spring in the room. The waiter seemed to have a fake smile on his face, and his Indian English accent was hard to understand. Compared with the services in other places in Japan, there was no sincerity and enthusiasm at all. We checked in at 3 pm, arrived early and put our luggage there, and it felt like the boss was unwilling to receive us. When we left, we were supposed to check out at 10 pm, but because they said they couldn't see a taxi at 10 pm, we had to leave at 9:30. I asked if I could put my luggage in the hotel and go out for a walk first, but I was rejected. Besides, the two meals were really simple, using the cheapest ingredients, and there were only three pieces of beef, which was really superficial, and it was also relatively poor among the many Japanese hotels I have stayed in. Overall, the service and catering can only be passed.

We booked two rooms, and both hot springs were outdoors. It was a unique experience to soak in the hot spring while looking at the mountains and forests. A few steps away was the forest, and there were deer. The breakfast and dinner were also very rich, and the kaiseki cuisine was colorful and high quality. The only thing was that there was a noticeable sound at night, which seemed to be the sound of wild animals. I asked the store owner, it might be a weasel... In short, it was a very good experience in a natural hot spring hotel.

It was a wonderful stay, excellent and helpful staff, very clean and spacious room, nice onsen, great food, excellent view, good shuttle service, indeed everything was just perfect!

The check-in time in Japan is generally late. The hotel can store luggage in advance, which is very nice. You can also make an appointment for pick-up service, and the service attitude is also great. Because the shops in Yufuin generally close very early, it is recommended to book a room with dinner and breakfast.

The hotel is halfway up the mountain, the scenery is very good. The meals are delivered to the room, which is quite rich. The proprietress speaks good English, will come to chat when leaving the hotel, and has a cute dog.

I read previous reviews that the hotel has a pick-up and drop-off service, but I checked via email two days before arrival but found it was not available. In the end, I ended up using the luggage delivery service at Yufuin Station! The staff was very nice when checking in! It's just that when booking a room, I entered the information of one large and one small. I don't know if it's a problem with trip.com or the hotel. For one room and two meals, I can only choose one or not. For one, I can only choose the 2 big prices. No. One big and one small! Just because there are only 2 large choices, the hotel only prepares 2 large toothbrushes for cleaning! I saw that the hotel had toothbrushes for children, and when I asked, they said they couldn’t give them to me because I booked a toothbrush for 2 adults! This makes me a little disappointed! They are one, one and one. In fact, I can also know the booking information early in the morning! When I arrived, they said they could change me to a children's dinner! Of course, if the price is very different, I won’t be refunded! Dinner was in the hotel's lobby room, and the staff responsible for delivering the food were all very nice! The food was good but not much of a surprise! The kids meals are great! There is a private bath in the room, which is why I booked it! The indoor private bath is useless because we are afraid of insects! We checked out the next morning, and because we were going to change to another hotel, we asked the staff to help us transport our luggage to the station. We paid in advance and asked the staff to transfer us to another hotel at the station! It’s so convenient as we have to go out for fun early in the morning! Overall it's good! The staff's attitude is very good!

The rooms are typical Japanese style, and each household has its own hot spring. It is outdoors. Very private. Very cozy. The water temperature is also suitable. You can bathe under the stars at night. The only drawback is that the hotel is on the top of the mountain and you have to take a taxi to get there. It is recommended to bring your own food and drinks. There is a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. It is convenient for heating.

Location is very nice, except there's a gravel road before reaching the hotel. It's around 10min drive from downtown so it's close enough. Hotel is old but quite authentic and highend. There's a nice bridge you need to cross before going to the main hotel area. There are 2 private onsen you can just walk in, they are right next to the river, very nice experience. there are some bugs around so i wouldn't say it's all clean, but you are next to the mountain so i guess cant expect too much. worst thing is i did not notice my booking which is $400 usd, did not include dinner and breakfast, which is very standard for a onsen ryokan. I had go out and buy my own food when i expected to be in a yukata and eating nice hotel food.

This is a boutique hotel with only 5 rooms, the small one is more than 70 square meters, and the large one is more than 100 square meters. The price is relatively expensive, but we were fully booked during our stay. The hotel is located in a layered garden with a very sense of design. There is a small green landscape outside each room. The room has a living room, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, toilet, large pool hot spring, shower room and sauna room, and two small platforms. The wine, snacks, ice cream, etc. in the bar are all free. There is also a one-hour free spa. Breakfast is in its own restaurant. We stayed for two nights. The first dinner was in its own restaurant. The second night was in the hotel's exclusive restaurant that was not open to the public. The Japanese chef only served us and our husband. We have absolute private space and will not meet other guests in the hotel. When we checked in, the hotel had just opened for 3 months and was still in the running-in period, but we could feel that the staff were very dedicated and wanted to provide the best service. Our account manager and housekeeper Eliena was very thoughtful, available at any time, and had no problem communicating in English. Question: 1. The room design needs to consider the safety of customers. For example, the bed in the bedroom is on a half-foot high platform. Although there is a floor lamp, it is easy to step on empty space when getting up at night. In addition, there are three steps from the bedroom to the hot spring, bathing and other areas. The steps are cement gray. Although not high, they are easy to be ignored. 2. Although there is a glass partition door, the hot spring water and hot spring related equipment are quite loud at night. It is very uncomfortable to fall asleep on the first night. Guests with sleep problems can negotiate with the hotel to turn off the hot spring at night so that the water will not flow.

The facility felt old, but overall, it felt clean and well-maintained. The staff spoke a little English, but I didn't feel like communication was smooth. I booked this place because they said the kaiseki was delicious, but it didn't suit my taste except for the sashimi and meat. The breakfast was delicious. Hmm.. It was the first room past the lobby, and I was disappointed because the open-air bath was more ordinary than I thought. It's okay if you think of it as an experience, but I think the cost-effectiveness is not that great.
