We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This would suit travelers who drive, with free carpark. It is about 15 mins walk downhill to Yufuin mainstreet. The outdoor hotsprings were good and well maintained. When we were there on 7 Feb 2023 it wasn’t crowded so it was really relaxing. I bathed in the evening then next morning again at the different outdoor one (there were two). The breakfast was good with a Japanese set together with free flow of juices and coffee. Reception has good service too. We didn’t try the dinner there but had dinner at the mainstreet. The room was large for three guests with 3 single beds and very comfortable.

we are group of 3 adults 2 kids and 1 baby. The hotel is clean, and utensils for cooking are useful. We were able to cook for our own dinner. laundry area with a heating exhaust fan is good for drying clothes over the night.
The only thing is the stairs is a bit dangerous for babies and young kids as they are quite steep. Otherwise our stay had been perfect.

How cost-effective it is. Small business. There is a pick-up service after 3pm. We will take you to the station when you leave. There are only 6 rooms. Basically no one is using the public hot springs. You can go in at any time. It is no different from private ones. The meals are like family dishes. There are Mandarin-speaking work-study students. No need to worry about communication problems.

Room accommodation with open-air bath [Room] Yufu Dake was well seen from the open-air bath. It is convenient to wash shampoo and body in the open-air bath or in the inner bath in the room. There are chairs and tables on the balcony. 【Amenities】 There are several cosmetics for men and women on the washbasin in the room. There are cleaning, but for the price of the room, including other amenities, it was .... 【Bath】 Small towels are prepared in the public bath, so you don't need to use wet things. There are few amenities in the dressing room. [Meal] Private room in the dining hall with evening breakfast. Dinner and Bungo beef steak were soft and delicious. When I entered the private room, I was already prepared for sashimi and baked fish on the table. There may be corona measures, but the baked fish was cold, so it was a little disappointing. There was breakfast, hot tofu and specialty ryukyu. There was a matcha and sweet service at check-in. It is good to spend a leisurely time walking to Lake Jinxi. I just felt that it was not as expensive.

Staying at the hot spring hotel for one night in Yufuyuan is really a wonderful experience, especially in Caiyue Hall. Have the opportunity to come again, we are now worried about going to other places in Japan, can we find a hotel with a similar experience and the price is not particularly high? It is really difficult to get into the frugality.
-First of all, Yufuin is a mountainous area, and there is luggage up and down the slope. It is never ten minutes on the navigation. The pro-test Caiyue Hall is really a phone hotel. There will be a business car to the station in a few minutes!
-Picture 1: Whether it is a mountain view room, a restaurant on the first floor, or a public hot spring, you can see the scenery of Yubuyue, which varies in the morning and evening and at noon.
-Picture 2: After soaking in the hot spring side, the conversation room has beer ice cream and mineral water coffee for free. After soaking in the hot spring, you need ice water. Although the ice cream is slightly sweet and greasy, it is just right to eat in the hot spring. Japanese guests are slightly afraid, so although the day of check-in is full, there are few people in the conversation room.
-Figure 3: On the side of the check-in hall, it is necessary to mention that whether you check in or leave the store, all the staff stand in a row to greet and send off. We don't speak Japanese at all, and some staff speak English, which does not affect our experience.
-Figure 4 to Figure 8 Dinner + Figure 9 Breakfast: Although the dinner is scheduled to start at 18:00 at the latest, there are also three tables of guests and all Japanese guests arrive later than 18:30, and the speed of serving is similar to ours, because there are many dinner dishes, the kitchen is also to be made together. Breakfast starts at 8:30 at the latest, because it is relatively simple, it really ends at 9 o'clock.
- Picture 10 is the private soup map 11 is the hot spring introduction: public hot springs cannot be photographed, private soup is available at 3 pm to make an appointment in the afternoon and evening, and in the morning, you can make an appointment on the morning but close at 10 o'clock, and open at 3 pm. There are five private soups on the eleventh, and the two in the lower left corner are open-air. We have an appointment with Waki, but the most important thing is Ginjou because the name represents ”Yiqing”. . . Remember to call to make an appointment when you stay in the hotel in the room.
Finally, on the day of our stay, more than a dozen rooms, basically all Japanese guests, may be related to the day is a Japanese holiday. But I still have to say that it is worth the experience!

We booked 2x Japanese rooms for 3 nights, over the rugby period. Obviously all hotels were charging a premium, but having booked 12 months in advance, at a cost of virtually £2,000 (excluding breakfast and dinner), I expected the hotel to be pretty good. The staff were very pleasant, but the communication was a problem - appreciate that this is our fault as much as theirs! The rooms were very shabby in our opinion, the furniture was badly marked and it didn't seem very clean. The worst problem was the smell in one of the rooms though, the staff told us it was from the tatami matting, but it clearly wasn't, as the other room had the same floorcovering and didn't smell. We ended up thinking it was the drains - but it was very unpleasant. The bathroom was pretty basic, and not well maintained - dirty grout around the tub etc. We stayed at 5 other hotels in Japan, and generally the standard was as expected - this was the only disappointment when considering cost vs. quality. The futons were more comfortable that I had expected - I slept really well.

Yufuin, who wanted to stay before. Renewed with the total design of etsuji Mitooka who worked on the luxury sightseeing train. It is an inn, but it has a chair and bed, simple but nice design, and it was perfect for us who did not like people coming in and out of the room. The meal was more comfortable and good than the room meal because it was served in another room. The dishes were also devised and beautiful and delicious. When I asked the young female staff, I was impressed by the answer to everything except the dishes. We couldn't leave food, so we were full of pots, because we had a lot of pots. The inn had a lot of dinner and breakfast, so the inn continued for two days was a little bit painful when it was old. The bath was a family, and there was a large open-air bath and I was able to relax. It was conveniently located to walk around Lake Jinpu and Yuno Tsubo Kaido Road, and it was fun to enjoy shopping and enjoy it. I would like to stay when I visit Yufuin someday.

Four people stay, the experience is very good, there is a swimming pool, hot spring facilities are all complete (free to see online). The sanitation is one star because there will be some bugs on the ceiling of the outdoor pool in the morning and noon, but when I come back at night, I don’t know if the staff has come or flew away. If you want to go to the pool during the day, there is pesticide on the table and you can spray it yourself.

The view from the entrance to the ryokan was very beautiful. You can also find large carp, small fish and small freshwater crabs.
There were no Korean employees, but he skillfully used Google Translate, so there was no inconvenience in communication.
The road to the family bath is really pretty. The large communal bath also has an open-air bath, and the hot spring water was of the highest quality. It was nice that the water pressure in the large bath shower was strong.
The kaiseki meal itself is impressive. Parents liked it, and the children were able to eat well together. The cutlery set for kids is cute and my daughter enjoyed it. The breakfast was also of a much higher standard than the standard hotel breakfast. I was able to enjoy a healthy breakfast without any burden.
There is a simple children's playroom on the first floor, and 4-5 year olds could have a good time.
There is a charge for yukata for children. It was very cheap at about 1000 yen for 2 days. Ayukata was really cute.
We stayed 2 nights in Mebaesou Ryokan. I was very worried because my parents were there, but fortunately, I had enough rest and ate delicious food. Thanks to the friendly staff, I was able to spend a pleasant trip. thank you
It is recommended to buy snacks in advance at a nearby mart or convenience store after sightseeing in Yufuin. There are only vending machines near the ryokan.
I plan to visit Iryokan again.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Ryokan almost three months ago. And I still did not write a review. We stayed there almost by accident, as the Ryokan we intended to stay in had only a vacancy for one night. There was time pressure. So I accepted their suggestion of their colleagues. Maybe I would not have picked it if I had looked into it better as I prefer a traditional house and here the old house (badly damaged by an earthquake) has been erased and replaced with daring new architecture. Yet is turned out to be the best place of our trip, one of the best places I stayed in, and I have been in many places all over Japan. How to write a review that does justice to this special place ? A place that has all the old fashioned refinery, mastering the tradition of omotenashi, blending it perfectly with a young vibrant savoir-vivre, global art and gastronomy. |I cannot write a review. Please read all the other ones, I only want to say : thank you, arigato gozaimasu ありがとうございます

GGuest UserAlthough the location is halfway up the mountain, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the street. The hotel staff are very polite, the service is very good, and the introduction is very serious. The facilities in the room are really nothing to say. I enjoy my own independent outdoor bath, comfortable tatami space, and a big bed that makes me feel like it's dawn. It's comfortable enough. The meal performance is also very good, traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine, the portion is just right, each group of guests has an independent box, so they will not be disturbed while dining. Hotel staff will call to remind you when the meal is ready.

GGuest UserYou can see Mt. Yufu from your room, and although the bath in your room is not open-air, you can enjoy an open view when you open the window. The layout of the room was simple and calming. It was a very nice inn with great attention to detail such as amenities and drink service. Although the food wasn't extravagant, it was just the right amount for middle-aged people like us, and there were free drinks, so we were able to enjoy the food and drinks without worrying about the price. The staff serving the food was also very attentive and had excellent customer service. I would like to stay there again if I have the chance.

GGuest UserThis traditional but upscale Japanese hotel has amazing views overlooking Mount Yufu. We stayed at the Villas which are large rooms each with an outdoor small private onsen with great views of the mountain and countryside. It was so relaxing to soak in the private onsen and soak in the nature around. The villa was large and comfortable but the bedroom section was in an upper duplex with slightly steep stairs, which would be challenging for those with mobility issues. The other part of the hotel looks like it has more traditional rooms. The main reception and restaurant were both luxurious. Food (dinner and breakfast included) was superb with Japanese kaiseki for dinner and traditional breakfast set. The resort has 2 names: Okuyado Buaiso and Okuyufuin Kohgen Resort-this made it slightly confusing to find. Although prices are high (about US$500/night) I would highly recommend to stay here for the lovely experience.
SSKW66We (5 adults and 2 kids) stayed one night in Villa Touou. 2 staffers were already meeting us at the parking area who also directed us to drive to the villa right away. The check in was just done swiftly in the villa where the kids can settle down easily. The welcome snack was so delicious I regret I didn't finish the ones my other family members didn't consume. There was one standalone bedroom with 2 double beds facing a toilet (without bath). Then the master bedroom is connected to 1 tatami area and 1 tatami attic. With 7 of us, Ikkoten already set up 2 sets of mattresses in the attic and another 1 in the tatami area. With kids in a rainy weather, we appreciated a lot that the front desk called us before they drove to pick us up to head to the dining room. I guess each room/villa had their own private dining room. Only complaint is that our cars had to park a bit further up slope than the villa. And upon check out, while we were hoping we could drive our car to the front of the villa so that we could load our luggage easier, the hotel amenity car decided to restock our villas and occupied the front space of the villa. While we enjoyed the comfortable living room at night with our whole family, we also wished to try the smaller room where the in-room onsen could also enjoy the fantastic view. The onsen in Villa Touou does not have any view.

KKelvin KeungFor dinner and breakfast, you have to go to the main building to pick up and drag them to your campsite. After eating, you must pick up the tableware and remaining food by yourself, pack them up, and bring them back to the main building for return. Good thing you don't have to clean the place yourself. At this price, I don't think it's worth it
The food was okay, both steaks were delicious, but no drinks were included. If possible, buy some supplies at a convenience store
There is no toilet in my room, so I have to go to the toilet in the main building. I was thinking that if the campground was full, there might not be enough toilets. In addition, in winter, walking from the room to the toilet through the open air is very unpleasant.
If you just stay in the hotel and don’t have a barbecue meal, it’s not bad to try staying in a tent and enjoy a bath.

GGuest UserI chose Yufuin Yubel Hotel this time after looking at the reviews. The evaluation score was 2.5 points, rounded up to 3 points. The location was deep within Lake Kinrinko and within walking distance of Yunotsubo Kaido. I left my luggage at the hotel and headed out for a walk, but on the day of my stay, many of the shops on Yunotsubo Kaido were closed due to heavy rain from yesterday. However, there were many tourists from overseas due to tour schedules. Pull up from your stroll and check in! After taking a bath in the room and resting for a while, we headed to the dinner venue. I received the appearance of Seki horse mackerel. At other onjukus, Seki horse mackerel and Seki mackerel have a certification label that is a branded product, but Yufuin Yubell did not have any labeling. There was a menu, but there was no explanation from the serving staff. I felt disappointed. The next morning, I was waiting for rice and miso soup to be served for breakfast, but they never served it, so I got impatient and rang the doorbell to have it served. I felt uncomfortable since this morning.
