very happy to have booked this hotel. very well located hotel, walkable fr yufuin station. breakfast and dinner every day was very nice, some days better than others but excellent nonetheless. place is a little old but is well kept. room is also rather large and we had the mountain view which was amazing. hotel onsen water can be a little too hot, so sensitive ppl do be careful. will come again.

I stayed here with my girlfriend. The inn is about a 10-minute taxi ride from Yufuin Station, and if you use Minato Taxi, there is no rent fee. The building itself has a quaint design, which is a great thing about an inn, and it was clean. We stayed in the Royal Suite Room this time, and the living room with TV, bedroom, dressing room/washroom, toilet, balcony, bathroom attached to the private room, and open-air bath were all very satisfying. The rooms are spacious and the spa is good. The surrounding area is relatively quiet, because the area is relatively large, and other guests are not seen very much. I didn't see other guests in the big bath twice. Breakfast and dinner are not bad. I came in winter. The lush feeling is missing in the courtyard. Maybe spring and autumn are more beautiful.

The staff members were all very friendly and welcoming. The hotel overall was very cozy, particularly the onsens. Although all the four onsens were opened for all guests at the hotel, you can use one of them as long as you want because guests are instructed to hang a sign on the onsen to show that it is currently occupied. This is a great way for the guests to enjoy privacy to themselves, although it is opened publicly. Dinner and breakfast was included in the package so we did not have to worry about finding nearby restaurants. The food was delicious here! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy traditional Japanese meals to get the full experience. We had a private barbecue for dinner, and it was truly immaculate! However, there was smoke all over the hotel lobby coming from the barbecue so it would have been better if they kept the windows opened. It was also indoors so it was slightly overwhelming with all the smoke everywhere in the restaurant. But everything else was on point and breakfast was particularly delicious.
