"The hotel's location is fantastic; it's right by the pedestrian street, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The Sun Voyager is also just a 5-minute walk away.
We stayed here for a total of three nights during our trip to Iceland, but unfortunately, there was road construction directly in front of the hotel. This made navigating, parking, and carrying luggage quite inconvenient, especially for first-time visitors to Iceland. The hotel really should have found a way to proactively inform guests (e.g., via email) and offer suitable advice, instead of remaining completely silent."
"A relatively new hotel, ca. 20 min by walking from the famous city center bar streets.
The service at the reception is good (it seems that the tourist industry is fully in Polish hands, this feels a little awkward).
Why is the room with toilet for disabled individuals if not requested?
The recommended bath Laugardalslaug near the hotel needs urgently refurbishing.
The Flybus transport from hotel to KEF was well organized and not expensive."
"Great location, 3 min walking to aurora borealis Bus stop no. 6 pick-up. Airport transfer Bus 55 public 17 EUR one-way, takes 1,5h to BSI central station, then 20 min walk to hotel or take yellow bus to Bus stop nr. 6. I had a 2 nights stay, their reception staff was amazing, the lady helped me book a northern lights tour literally the moment
I've entered. Pods very comfortable, ambient changing lights, hangers provided and large space for your suitcases. Ground floor bar and socializing space really cozy, beer and wine tabs are activated by digital bracelet, top notch kitchen (no stove), free high quality tea bags (loved that detail:). Elevator, entry with digital bracelet in the pod, bath robes (2) per pod for hot tub use, Dyson hair dryer and Rituals free cosmetics at bathroom. Free storage of luggage after check out all activated with the digital bracelet. Everything it's spotless clean and their attention to little details it's something that will make me return."
"Very good location just walk downstairs from bus stop 12 very convenient room facilities complete. We went to Black Beach that day it rained after watching the waterfall all over wet luckily there was a dryer in the hotel to dry the clothes immediately. We were able to continue our comfortable journey, the hotel service was very good very much praised we will stay again next time"
"The location of the hotel is great, right in the city centre. The bed in the room was large 1.3m wide unlike other hotels which are only a metre wide. The service at the front desk was also quite good. The only drawback is that the spa centre closes too early, at 19:30, unlike other hotels that open late."
"excellent location.
slightly a bit dated: bedroom doors needed a bit of effort to close. Could hear wind howling in tiny bedroom window gap.
spacious and with a kitchenette. When we checked in there was some condiments, oil, porridge leftover by previous tenants (we did not use)
free parking wasnt really free, paid GBP16 for overnight parking"
"I loved this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! One of the outstanding features is that they give you a cell phone to use during your stay. The phone already has helpful apps installed for taxis, restaurants, etc. We are from the US so did not have international cell service so having this phone with us was helpful, especially for using maps. Reykjavik is a walkable city, and the hotel is located on the most popular street, so it has easy access to everything. The staff was very helpful and there is also a bar/restaurant onsite with amazing cocktails. There is an included breakfast buffet which featured hot and cold items. We had a room on the 4th floor that included access to large patio. We loved this feature as we could wake up and go outside to check the weather and enjoy the views of the mountains and water in the distance. The hotel was also extremely clean. Another nice touch was that they knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so when we entered our room, we found a bottle of wine, chocolate and romantic decorations!"
"The hotel features modern facilities and an excellent location. There's a fantastic bubble tea shop right across the street, and a highly-rated Chinese restaurant, considered the best in the local area, is just a short walk away. The cleanliness is also superb."

AAlec Lyubomirsky (alyubomi)We started our travel to Iceland by driving around Iceland in a campervan, so we were hoping for a relaxing hotel stay in Reykjavik at the end of the trip when we pre-booked. We were not disappointed by the Eyja Guldsmeden. The location was only a few blocks away from downtown where there were tons of shopping and dining options, and the hotel itself was beautiful. In the lobby, we grabbed (included) coffee in the mornings and a reasonably-priced drink for happy hour. The service at the front desk was friendly and cordial. The room itself had a nice view of the mountains and was warm and cozy. It was a great stay and we would definitely go back to this hotel again if we are ever back in Iceland!
Our only difficulty, understanding this is mostly outside of the hotel's control, is that some of the sidewalks on the walk to downtown were extremely icy and slippery after a day or so of wintry mix that froze over. We had to be extremely careful making our way down to Laugavegur, which had much safer sidewalks. There were even a few buses and cars that couldn't make their way up or down the icy, hilly streets and had to work their way around. So if you are going in the Winter, be cautious and walk slowly!

JJosephineThe hotel is satisfactory in all aspects. But the service of Ctrip is negative. The hotel has no front desk, which means it is all self-service. Ctrip sent emails and text messages, but the most important thing is that the hotel front desk door opening code and the key box code were not sent to the guests. Our flight was late and arrived at the hotel at 3:30 at night. Ctrip asked us to contact the hotel to find the door opening code. It was rainy and windy in Iceland at night. Hey, Ctrip, don't take on such a job if you don't have the diamond drill.

GGuest UserThis aparthotel is very clean.
The location of the facility is very good.
The staff are all kind and speak English well.
There is a beautiful lake around the hotel, and there are many supermarkets and restaurants, so it is very convenient.
I recommend it to everyone!

HHuanyoushijierenxiaoyaoThe hotel is in a good location! The hotel linens in Northern Europe are as good as always! The front desk service is polite and thoughtful! What I didn't expect was that there were cookies in the room! Drinking a cup of coffee, it was like recharging, and immediately immersing myself in the beautiful scenery of Iceland! It's a pity that the sky is not beautiful! I didn't see the northern lights! But the northern lights are rare! I have seen them in Saariselka, Lapland, Finland in March 2018!

MM445711****I traveled to Iceland and chose this hotel for a total of three nights. This is the first night(8.6),Everything else in the hotel is very good. The only terrible thing is that for the room on my left, I can clearly hear their phone calls. For the room on my right, I can clearly hear them coughing and talking, which is very clear in the middle of the night. I doubt whether every room can hear the sound like this, so I will consider whether it is useful to propose to change the room.

GGuest UserExcellent location, so easy to get to where we wanted and needed to, especially we booked bus tours for 3 days, we were able to be picked up and dropped off at Bus Stop #1 that is located at City Hall where is only a few minutes away from hotel. It helped a lot when it’s raining. Only downside was the breakfast started @ 7 am which is bit late for early travelers, so the breakfast area was packed in the early morning. Maybe hotel should change its setting to let two rows of people picking up their breakfasts at the same time.

WWyw112The bus hostel is really near the airport and quite walkable to major sightseeing like 20-30 minutes.
Yet the Windows curtain could not even cover it well so if you sleep near a Windows in summer (as the night will be very bright) You will affect by the light. There was men snoring really hard so it affect as well (though this is not about the hotel)
I got nose allergy and the entire time I stay in the hotel and it makes me feel very sick.
The self check in system is quite good, yet the reception will be locked after 9pm(?) I was coming back at 10pm and there was no staff help unlocking the main entrance which the password is different. They provide no information about this. A few of us (new guests or those coming back) are locked outside until a guest know the password show up. This certainly not a good service at all.
The toilet has automatic light which is Environmental friendly I like it, but it went off when I only have a short time in the toilet, this really not quite good.
But the location is good and there is bus travel tour pick up from here.

VVanessaSuper quickly the confirmation email from the hotel, the directions and recommendations are clear and simple. The room was a decent side and it had a huge bathroom. Right now there are making some renovations in the property but during the sleeping hours everything is pretty calm and silent

GGuest UserExcellent value for money, and the room with a view was great. The bus stop right outside the hotel makes it incredibly convenient, which is a huge plus! The front desk staff were also very friendly. I'd highly recommend this to friends.

WWongAaronI recently had the pleasure of staying at Guesthouse Aurora, where the charm of the establishment was only matched by the warmth of its hosts. Nestled in a convenient location next to the Church, the guesthouse presented itself as an inviting home away from home, perfect for travelers looking for an authentic and personal touch to their accommodation.
Before arrival, we were worried that we cannot checkin because we took a night flight. However, when i called the staff, he answered that even our arrival time is out of customer service, he could leave the key and PIN code for us to self-checkin, he also went beyond to ensure a smooth check-in process. Their attention to detail and eagerness to assist with any inquiries set the tone for a delightful stay.
The guesthouse itself boasted a quaint and cozy atmosphere, with communal areas that were well-kept and adorned with tasteful decorations, offering a homely comfort that was immediately noticeable. The included breakfast was a highlight of the stay, featuring a generous spread of both local and continental options, freshly prepared and sure to satisfy a variety of tastes. The morning meal provided a wonderful opportunity to mingle with other guests and exchange travel tales, all while enjoying the delightful array of food.
However, it's worth noting that the room space was somewhat compact. While the room was impeccably clean and well-equipped with the necessary amenities, the limited space could pose a slight inconvenience, especially for those with a significant amount of luggage or a
