Best Redang Island Hotels

"The Peridot is a beautiful resort but is undergoing renovations so they don't offer any services at the moment. The pool is full of dirty water, the reception bathrooms are still full of lime and insects, there are workers (rightly) wandering around the entire resort and the breakfast is really poor: they offer toast with butter and jam and something savory. The rooms, on the other hand, are fabulous, spacious and state-of-the-art... ours was directly on the sea and offers L'Occitane products which in our opinion are excellent. The price for the current conditions is decidedly high."

"Redang Island beach is fantastic – beautiful waves, plenty of fish, and soft sand. The rooms were decent, especially considering the price of around 1,000 MYR for a package that included meals. However, manage your expectations for the food; it's pretty standard, as you'd expect from such deals. Be aware that there's an extra charge for children aged 9 and above; we paid over 580 MYR (almost 900 RMB) for our 9-year-old for two nights. The front desk staff were quite irritable; don't expect a friendly or helpful attitude. Adding to the frustration, the mobile signal tower broke down during our stay, meaning no internet access for anyone for the entire duration! For airport transfers, make sure your flight arrives by 11:10 AM. Otherwise, you'll have no choice but to charter a private boat from Merang Jetty, which costs about 500 MYR. Similarly, if you're checking out to another island, book your boat tickets well in advance. Private boat charters can be exorbitant; while usually around 500 MYR, they quoted us 1,000 MYR (approx. 1,700 RMB) that day! Luckily, we found another person at the jetty for 700 MYR. It was a stressful experience overall!"

"The hotel itself and it's location was great. The weather was sunny, making the water activity do-able and nice. Thanks for the hardworking lifeguard at the beach and attentive restaurant waiter/waitress. However, the service at the reception and manager handling a paid room upgrade should be improved further for a better guest experience. Not a 5-star experience. Lol. Hope they can improve on the communication and better room coordination. Marriott/Shangrila will do this in a much better way. Maybe it's me who put higher expectation on Taaras Is this resort deserve a repeat? Maybe NO. Anyway tq for the experience"

"The service and the people were honestly so nice super friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff and the bus driver who drove us to and from our rooms the whole trip. The rooms were okay, I’d give them a 4/5. But the food? Absolutely terrible. This was hands down the worst food I’ve ever had at any hotel in my life. The boiled eggs were rotten, the bread was old and stale there was literally nothing worth eating. As for the private beach… total disaster. You have to go down a lot of stairs just to get to this so-called beach, which ended up being full of garbage and sharp rocks. Definitely not the relaxing beach experience anyone would hope for."

"The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and is very clean and clean. If you're attracted to all this, the beach is super, with access to other restaurants, excursions, canoe and taxi boat. "Wonderful vacation, very authentic place. Complete minimalism in the rooms, but everything you need is there. Air conditioning, shower and a couple of beds. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves is amazing! Special thanks to the hotel administrator and all the service staff. Very responsive guys! The food is delicious, the prices are pleasant, the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. Very happy with the vacation! One minus: there is no exchange office on the island!"

"Its a last minute booking and we didn't select for any package. The service is good where they wait for us during arrival and help us to carry our bags, serve light refreshments during check in and the staffs also friendly. The service that need to improve is no staff is available during not peak hours, the call is not answered and the request to change the rusted kettle is being ignored. The amenities are old and not well managed. The floor is dusted, the mirror frame in the toilet is broken, the balcony wood also broken and it can be dangerous if small kid left alone. The food is good and the price is reasonable. We pay for the dinner buffet and its quite satisfactory."
