I wanna give some information about the garden villa and ocean villa, garden villa is way better than ocean villa , it has private yard, it’s a little far from the lobby for more privacy and peace, but ocean villa is near the restaurant and it’s not private, the residence of gardens villa should pass by ocean villas to get to their room and it’s not even beach front, it doesn’t have private yard so the guests couldn’t open the curtains and use the view 🫣it should be half price of garden villa but it’s more expensive 😑
the toilet and bathroom doesn’t have door but has view to garden.
The stuff are great. 👍🏼
The food is the best in the island but totally is average.
Snorkeling with firus was amazing.😝
Everything is perfect, I highly recommend this villa.🫶🏻
The resort is located on a very long and quiet beach and, even if it is a bit disconcerting at first, it is the ideal place for those who want to spend a few days in total relaxation. The complex is spread over a fairly large area and offers various accommodations on the seafront. We booked one of these and it was really worth it. The room has a beautiful window overlooking the beach and, in the morning, waking up with the sound of the sea in the background is priceless. The room is quite comfortable, a small living room with a sofa and armchair, a bathroom and a bedroom. Outside, a small patio with two chairs and a small table. The bed is comfortable, quite large, the power outlets are convenient.
However, we did not like some things: starting with the bathroom which gave off a very bad smell of stagnant water and also persistent. We had to keep the door closed otherwise the bad smell spread to the rest of the room. In general, there was a lot of humidity throughout the bathroom, so much so that the various aluminum accessories had several rusty spots. The shower provided very little water, and to have hot water you had to turn on a second shower head. Externally, one of the two chairs was broken. Finally, there was a generator right behind the room and therefore the noise was very loud even inside, with the doors closed.
The services offered by the resort are quite extensive. The restaurant is mediocre, in terms of choice and quality of food. Many of the drinks are not available, many dishes on the menu are “out of stock”… but it is understandable considering that you are on an island. The pool is very large and beautiful even if not very clean. The deck chairs are few and also broken.
In conclusion, the real strong point of the resort is the staff and the location. The rest can be improved, there is a lot of potential and if only they took more care of it, there would be nothing to envy to more renowned brand resorts.
The best thing about this resort is its beach! white soft sand and the whole stretch is private beach area. The rooms are okay and in good condition. The food at the restaurant was below average and most of the staffs are new so they are not so resourceful. We enjoyed out stay there. Go for the beachfront rooms as they are really worth it.

The hotel is located in the mid-levels. The environment is beautiful, the restaurant is beautiful, the food is first-rate, the waiters are very friendly, understand Chinese, there are two-person boat hire, you can go out to the sea to watch the sunset, the beach is beautiful, the water is crystal clear, hope to come again soon
We stayed at Mimpi Perhentian Resort Hotel at the end of June for 3 days and 2 nights, and we regretted not booking a longer stay. Our sea view triple room was perfect for our little family of three, including our six-year-old boy. The resort offers the best views on Long Beach, and we loved the chill vibes in the morning and the lively atmosphere in the evening and night.
Booking all our island trips through the hotel was super convenient since we could charge everything to our room. We did snorkeling during our island tour, which is an absolute must-do when you’re on the island. The rooms were exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds, strong air conditioning, and great water pressure for showers. The saltwater hotel pool was also charming and a great spot to relax.
We appreciated having the staff handle our luggage and bags, bringing them from the jetty at Kuala Besut all the way to our room at the hotel itself, which was superb! The boat ride to the island was also great, seeming more luxurious than the ones offered by the other resorts on the island.
Each and every single staff throughout the hotel was amazing and friendly; making our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was just okay, but no worries! There are plenty of cafes just a stone’s throw away with affordable, really good food covering almost all cuisines. A beautiful stroll away, these cafes added to the charm of our stay.
Mimpi Perhentian truly is a dream come true. We can’t wait to return!
I came here with my family of 11.
We drove to Kuala Besut, parked our car at Fairfield Marriott and booked ourselves into Fairfield Marriott Kuala Besut for the night before our trip to Marriott Perhentian.
The rooms in Kuala Besut are clean, not at all cramped for the price and perfect as a mere stopover.
The staff were super-friendly and attentive. They were aware that we were heading out to Perhentian the next day as we had messaged the Perhentian property of our plans prior.
The next morning we checked out of Fairfield Marriott and pushed our luggage over to the Marriott Perhentian reception next door under the same roof and were swiftly checked into Marriott Perhentian there and then by the friendly check-in staff.
They took our bags and tagged everything according to our respective rooms.
The next time we'd see our bags again would be in our rooms on the island as they took care of everything.
We were then invited to board the ship that would ferry us over to the island which was super comfortable, clean, air conditioned. We were taken care of by a gracious Ms. Anita throughout our boat ride who offered us sick bags if we got sea sick. Lucky for us, the 40-min ride was not excessively bumpy.
Arriving on the island, we were welcomed and greeted by name by a host of staff immediately upon disembarkation and taken on a tour of the property on the buggies that were already waiting for us on the jetty before we were sent straight to our rooms.
The rooms are clean, spacious with a lot of natural light filling both the bedchamber and the bathroom.
Drinking water is offered and replenished every day.
If we wanted to get anywhere on the property, the buggy was only a phone call away. Otherwise, the property is not too big that it is too far to walk to get around. The only thing to keep in mind when walking is that this property is built on a hillside so there are some steep inclines that might be an encumberance for those with limited mobility with walking.
The pools are perfect. One for families, one for kids, and one quiet pool that is exclusively for adults. Everyone's preferences is catered to in this regard.
The breakfast spread is generous in variety with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and continental options.
The F&B staff at Dapur made us feel very welcome every morning and took very good care of us thoroughly.
I would like to convey our gratitude to Norhayati, Damia, Joanne, and Firdaus who made us feel like family at breakfast every morning.
I came with children aged 5, 8, and 10 and they spent a lot of time by themselves at the Kid's Club all day where they're taken care of by the staff there. There were activities all day in which they participated.
If they didn't feel like participating, they kept themselves entertained with books, games, computer, and TV at the club.
The location of the resort is a bit secluded and I felt safe allowing them to make their own way to the pools, Kid's Club. If they're not walking on their own, the staff would take them to their destinations and back to their rooms on the buggy.
My kids loved this place so much that they've rated it far above an upscale property we've stayed at in Langkawi.
The three beaches on the hotel property have clear water and white powder sand but are not the best on the two Perhentian islands but we could hire external party water taxis to take us to better beaches elsewhere. We only did this once during our three-night stay.
Every staff we encountered made us feel very welcome and were helpful. I wish I had remembered all their names but the only other two I could recall were Hilmi and Nik Nur.
I would definitely come back here again within a couple of years.
I really liked the hotel. It is located right in the forest, among the trees. The area is great. Squirrels are jumping on the veranda, waiting for a treat. The staff is very responsive and friendly. There is a swimming pool and a water park for children on site. And the sea is just a fairy tale.
Everything is relative. For perhentian, barat is one of the cleaner hotels around. But for the price I paid during super peak season, one would expect cleaner services. I waited hours for the room to be ready, which I can understand as the night before was fully booked and I arrived before the official check in time. However, when I was finally able to check into my room,, the shampoo packet from the previous guest wasn't picked up and the drain hole still had hair. Towels were also damp.
Once we got over this initial disappointment, I was quite happy for the rest of my time there. Room was well equipped with a kettle, hair dryer, fan and super cool air conditioning, the latter was crucial to alleviate the record heat we are experiencing.
Location was superb as well. You can go snorkeling at the beach outside the neighboring hotel, where you can see baby sharks hanging around the rocks. I was assured by the staff that momma shark don't hunt there. I guess they are right since I lived to write this review.
Those a little braver can swim out to turtle point (life jacket recommended). Every morning, loads of boats arrive here to drop off eager snorkelers hoping to catch a glimpse of turtles. It's nice to have the option to go anytime at your leisure, staying at barat hotel nearby.
We stayed in a chalet. The chalet was very basic, without a cupboard, a shelf... but really spacious. The bathroom was also large, the shower jet was very weak. The artificial grass in front of the door was inconvenient, just wooden planks would have been much more practical. All in all we were quite satisfied with the location and the spacious room. We thought the price was way too high for what we got, and the staff hardly seemed to know anything. One young man was very friendly but quite helpless, the others were not friendly. One man even looked at you disapprovingly when you brought something to the fridge, because he thought it was unthinkable that a can of beer would be put in his fridge.

MMikalai A.The main advantage of this hotel is the location and super friendly staff. It's a 30-meter walk from the boat pier and a 10-minute walk to Long Beach. A good restaurant at the hotel, but much more expensive than the restaurants around, but the quality is similar. Every evening you can watch a movie in the cinema. Breakfast is pretty bad - a small selection of dishes, sometimes no meat at all, little fruit, chemical juice, in general they save a lot on breakfast. Their excursions are also more expensive than you can buy elsewhere. But I repeat that the staff is wonderful and very friendly.
GGuest UserOn Perhentian Island it was the cheapest accommodation we found. Quality price is very good. Furthermore, the couple that runs it is a young couple from there, who are always careful to make sure you don't miss anything.
VVicky China WalaThis resort is wonderful place to stay in a very good budget compared to other resorts around. The room was pretty clean and comfortable. 24/7 air conditioning and water heating facility available. The hotel staff was super kind and friendly.
You can enjoy drinks at the bar with Akmal and gossip with nice music ❤️
They serve amazing food and offer snorkeling trips , boat taxis, kayak and other facilities.
GGuest UserThe room is very spacious, a single-family log cabin, the room facilities are relatively old, the toilet door is about to fall off, the quilt and bed sheets are not particularly clean, there will be some ants and mosquitoes on this island.
The hotel service is not bad. When you arrive at the hotel, someone will help you take your luggage to the room, and after you check out, you will also help to send your luggage to the pier.
There is a Chinese-speaking lady at the front desk of the hotel who is very nice. Meals in the hotel restaurant are very cheap, most of which are more than ten ringgits, but the variety of meals is a bit small, and the food is a bit aesthetically fatigued. There are a few cute kittens at the front desk of the hotel, and they have to pet them for a while every day, haha
AAl DDUSTYfor 2 stars hotel this is an average hotel. no breakfast provided yet the price is quite reasonable. location is in the middle of Perhentian. Have to walk from jetty and by walk i mean have to do light hiking.
