"Booked last minute for a family of 8 – Coral Bay Resort was the only hotel available for a short vacation in Pulau Pangkor.
We called ahead to request rooms close to each other, which was arranged. However, the resort was quite rigid with requests for extra towels, and pool towels were not sufficiently available for all guests. Additionally, there was no enforcement of proper swimming attire at the pool.
On the positive side, cleanliness was above average, and the overall experience was satisfactory for a short family stay."
"Everything is ok but service was very minimal.
During checkout, we asked for help getting a taxi to the jetty. Staff only tried one number, got no answer, and told us to walk to the main street to find any taxi. Most places would usually try a few more numbers. Luckily we had no luggage, but this was disappointing."
"Avi Stay Pangkor is a cozy and affordable accommodation option on Pangkor Island. The rooms are clean, modern, and well-maintained, offering good value for money. It’s conveniently located near shops and local eateries, making it easy to explore the island. The staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. Ideal for budget travelers looking for comfort and convinience"
"Good day.
Advantages: hotel on the 1st line, restaurant with good cuisine, greenery around, pool for children and shallow pool for adults, hornbills fly in and stunning sunsets.
I recommend trying there: tom yum with seafood and grilled lamb. Very tasty!!!
Thank you!!!"
"The boss is very nice and always helpful. The living environment is warm and practical, and cost-effective. I especially like the balcony. If the WiFi was faster, it would be perfect. There are 711 and several chocolate duty-free shops downstairs, and there is a large supermarket 5 minutes' walk towards the beach, which is very convenient."
"The hotel is decent with nice service staffs. They are always ready to help you. The room condition shall be improved, particularly cleanliness.
In general, the hotel is ok if you have budget constraint. One good thing is there are beach fronting."
"The hotel management lead by Mr Shan is very approachable and responsible.
The staff are polite and welcoming.
Although the breakfast selection is limited due to Ramadan, the food tastes great.
The hotel room is clean, and it's just a 5-minute walk to the beach.
Right at the entrance, you’ll find Chao Sheng Seafood Restaurant and a foot massage place, making it very convenient. Definitely worth recommending!"
"For the first timer like us, we were blown away by the services from the start of the journey toward the end of our departure. We felt extremely blessed to have this level of experiences (one island, one resort) rendered by the hotel. Not only the amenities are adequate and in high standard, but the secluded and privacy amongst in between the guests are the top."
"The perfect place from which to explore Pangkor Island. Very comfortable and warm room. Plenty of electric sockets to charge my devices and work with my laptop. Great TV and really excellent hot shower, so easy to use. Friendly staff and fantastic breakfasts. I love the Nasi lemak. The hotel is very central within easy reach of shops, eating places and water sport . I will certainly be back. Hidden gem for breakfast and lunch in Pangkor Island.
Excellent food, lunch Rm15/person, abundant nasi goreng. Tested chicken today, which was excellent. Great chef and excellent price and quality ratio. Cosy restaurant facilities."

8.5/10
Very Good
SSiyam MiahThe location was amazing. The vibe and surroundings were perfect for a relaxing getaway. The villa itself was great, but the service could use some improvement. It's a beautiful spot, and with better service, it would be even better.
NNaz Kamala quick one night stay with affordable price. one way to teluk nipah. not so distance but need transportation to get from jetty to the hotel. comfy bed, clean shower. coffee, tea & hot water at the lobby, but accessable up to 10:30 p.m. only. there's duty free shops, convenience store nearby - just a walk away.
GGuest UserLocation is good, we rent a car with them, very convenient to hang around the island, our room at 2nd floor nice view, have towel and all the amenities, aircon is good, WiFi is not working, shower heater ok, shower drain needs improvement
MM2948MNew and clean Japanese style rooms. Suit for couple or families with young children. A bit difficult for elderly due to no chair to rest. Prefer to have own transport as the hotel in housing area, not far from Pantai pasir Bogak but need 10-15min walk.
GGuest UserThis is my first trip to Pangkor Island. I had book this hotel last minute in Agoda after I bought the ticket for last ferry 7.15pm from Marina to Pangkor. I had choose this hotel because I had see the review is not bad with 5star review for all the review in year 2020 and they rank 5th for overall best hotel in Pulau Pangkor. When I arrive at the hotel, there is nobody there for me to do the check in. I am thinking the staff maybe out to buy or having their dinner. But after a while 2 of the staff is back in the property and told me they are not expecting any guest so they went out to buy dinner. After thinking a while, it is not surprise as they not expect anyone today. First I only do the booking not long ago so they may not had received the email from Agoda. Second, today Malaysia recorded the highest day for people infected with Covid-19. As this 2 reason, they sure will not expecting any guest for the day. But this not concern me at all, because I am having great time while staying at this hotel. Below are all the reason which I will highly recommend this hotel to who had read my review here. 1. The hotel rate is reasonable. The room is chalet/villa type which the room rate is cheap. 2. This hotel had been newly renovated so it is cosy to stay. Please do not read any review before year 2020. They had renovated the hotel in 2020, all the furniture is new and the stay is cosy. 3. The staff and management is very friendly. They will assist you in what they can. 4. There is a fews bicycle to use for free at the hotel. 5. The location is very good. Walking distance to the Pasir Bojak Beach. And there is a lot of Chinese and Malay restaurant nearby. (Fully recommend “Chao Seng Seafood Rstaurant” nearby) 6. There is a few motor bike or car rental outside the hotel which for sure will be convenient for you to ride around the island. (Recommend to take a bike and you can ride the bike for island tour) I feel so relax and happy for my 3d2n trip while staying at this hotel. Will come back to stay here for my next trip to Pangkor Island again. Again, Tripadvisor had not disappointed me when I am searching for a hotel stay to a place which I am not familiar. I hope with my review I can make this property to more higher ranking so that everyone will be happy to discover this hotel.
GGuest UserThe lady owner was very friendly. Her husband was not. Crowded place with no parking space for car. We had experience a hit and run on our crental car parked outside the property. The man only told us to park at a vacant area nest to another hotel/resort when we complained to him. He was happy like a jerk to note that our rented car got hit and only then said we should not park outside his property by the roadside.
CCazuhI slept in this hotel during my stay in Pangkor.
I recommend it because it is near the Ferry which makes it easy to arrive and leave the island.
I recommend renting a scooter from this hotel, it will allow you to discover the island very easily.
FFahmi ZulkepliThis hotel is very close to bogak sand beach! Just walk for about 2 minutes, and can directly reach the beach. The hotel is spacious, the pool is also available for children and adults, around the hotel there are food stalls that are very easy to access, the distance from the main pier to the hotel also takes about 5 minutes by taxi.
And if you're lucky, you can see some hornbills perching on the coconut trees inside the hotel. I was lucky to see 2 hornbills playing on a coconut tree.
Disadvantages of this hotel, cleanliness and cheerfulness. Cleanliness 5/10. In our room, there are only 2 lamps that work, it can be said that 80% of the remaining lamps are not working. There is also a television, but there is only one broadcast. The room smells a bit musty, maybe because the carpet in the room has not been cleaned for a long time.
Would I stay here again?
Probably yes.
Would I recommend to my friends?
Probably yes.
