"I checked in at night. Before check-in, I requested a high floor, a latex pillow, and a room away from the elevator. The room I was given was on the second floor (I wonder if it was due to operational issues, as only the second floor was open?). The latex pillow was also provided after I checked in. Being away from the elevator was fine. I was halfway through my shower that night when I realized the shower gel was empty. Can this be fixed? I was completely soaked. I called for shower gel after leaving the bathroom and waited for the robot to deliver it. The shower had a very strong acidic smell, which persisted even the next morning. I don't know why. Then, while I was showering, I watched the shower turn into a swimming pool. The water wouldn't drain at all. "My daughter and I came for a relaxing stay at this designer hotel. Its layout, lighting, and decor are certainly very well-designed, boasting a dark, trendy aesthetic that appeals to a younger crowd. The bedding in our room was comfortable, the toiletries were excellent, and the minibar drinks were unique. Turndown service was provided, there were plenty of Instagrammable spots, and the service was great overall. The complimentary afternoon tea and Wupeng boat ride offered by the hotel were both excellent. We also enjoyed a coffee-making workshop – all very unique experiences. The lobby bar had a great ambiance, and the staff service was exceptional. I had a very pleasant time experiencing coffee making, afternoon tea, and cocktails there. However, the evening ritual was too simplistic – just two young girls walking around with lanterns and saying a few words. Sacrificing our evening outing time to watch it was simply not worth it. Now, for the downsides. The hotel lacks privacy; people in the shops across the street in the Shaoxing Tiandi commercial area could easily see into our room, forcing us to keep the curtains drawn. The hotel breakfast was a semi-buffet. The quality was very ordinary and didn't match the hotel's branding. The three set menus were not high quality, completely falling short when compared to the standards of, say, Hyatt Centric Yixing. The buffet section offered limited and low-quality fruit, comparable to a standard hotel. Even the two winter jujubes I tried weren't particularly fresh. The coffee was good, complete with latte art, and they offered a unique Shaoxing Yellow Wine Latte. However, the Ciwu Noodles were not authentic, and the toppings – preserved vegetables, bamboo shoots, and shredded pork – were not tasty at all. On a positive note for breakfast, the oat cups were well-made, and the roasted pumpkin was delicious. The room wasn't particularly spacious and didn't have a bathtub, which I heard is only available in suites. I'm also unsure if the hotel has a pool. These were the aspects that detracted from the overall experience."
