"This was the second hotel we stayed at on our birdwatching trip in Menglun. It was originally a backup plan because we booked the Wanglian Hotel late, but after staying there, we found it to be a hidden gem. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the west gate of the botanical garden and the suspension bridge, which is very convenient. We walked there from the botanical garden.
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately greeted by warm service. The landlady was incredibly welcoming, and there were complimentary candies, snacks, and fruits for guests to enjoy while they waited – a very thoughtful touch. After check-in, you can add the service WeChat account to let them know the breakfast time and location, nearby restaurants, and the Wi-Fi password. The service response time is also very fast; my room had a problem with the TV's internet connection, and it was resolved within 10 minutes. I think that's impressive for the town.
The hotel facilities are relatively new, with a mahogany interior and ethnic style. The facilities are quite complete, and surprisingly, it even has a small gym – great! It's nice to get some exercise after a long day. The breakfast selection isn't extensive, but it's sufficient. If you don't want to eat breakfast there, there are many snack shops and night markets nearby. For example, there are many Dai-style restaurants in the village within a 500-meter walk of the hotel, offering authentic local flavors that are worth trying. The hotel has a relatively large parking lot, making it convenient for tourists arriving by car. A small gift is given upon check-out, which is also a nice touch.
Overall, we stayed here for two nights, and our biggest impression was how incredibly welcoming the owner was. We were always ready to chat and provided a lot of information. If you're not particularly keen on the botanical garden night tour, this is a very good value accommodation in Menglun."

"Conveniently situated right by the side gate of the Botanical Garden, this place offers incredible value. At just 99 yuan a night, it's an absolute steal! The owner is wonderfully kind; she even took me to see eagle owls and brown swifts. I'd love to visit again given the chance. I really hope the owners publish a bird-watching guide for Xishuangbanna."

"Lovely hotel between the border police and the railway station. We stayed just one night. The people working at the hotel are highly dedicated and service minded. If you do not speak Chinese you should install a translator app so you can communicate with the reception. They arranged a transfer for us for the railway station. Comfortable rooms and large bathroom. Better than European standards."

However, the facilities are undeniably outdated; it's an old-fashioned hotel, and the breakfast is just average. Even for an old hotel, it barely scrapes by as a 3-star. The lack of charging stations is a major inconvenience, as you have to drive more than ten minutes from the east gate to the west gate to charge. But, if you're planning night tours and daytime sightseeing, I genuinely recommend it because you can directly access everything from the hotel lobby, which means more sleep! Despite the hotel being old, the service is prompt and the staff are quite nice."

"The most surprising experience of this trip to Mengla was the Levande Hotel! It's right near the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and only a 20-minute drive to the Wangtianshu Scenic Area (the front desk lady was so kind to let me know there's a weekend market going on there—you can ride a shared electric bus to experience the unique local night market life). You can even see Dai villages along the way. The location is perfect!
Another comfort and convenience feature is the hotel's free pick-up service (because it was already past 7 p.m. and I hadn't realized how hard it was to get a taxi. After waiting for half an hour with no one to respond, I realized the hotel offered a pick-up service and quickly contacted the hotel through the booking process. The driver was incredibly friendly!)
The hotel room was even bigger than I expected! Over 30 square meters was plenty comfortable! The tropical decor, large windows, and cleanliness were topped off!
The disposable bath towels were especially impressive: individually sealed, thick, and lint-free. Upon opening, we found a thick, non-woven fabric that's highly absorbent and lint-free (a reassuring thought for those of us who are particular about hygiene and attention to detail)."

Not only is it super close to the botanical garden, but the hotel's environment and service are top-notch in every aspect. The room itself also had a wonderful ambiance, living up to the Anantara name! Our butler was incredibly responsive to all our requests, the photo shoot locations within the hotel were absolutely stunning, the grounds are lush with greenery, and privacy is excellent. The Southeast Asian-inspired design of the hotel makes for fantastic photos. Lastly, the Dai-style restaurant just 200 meters outside the hotel's main gate is absolutely delicious!!!"

"This was the first hotel we stayed at after arriving in Xishuangbanna. The environment was very quiet and the greenery was beautiful. It's a pity we arrived late at night and had to leave the next morning; my family said we should have come earlier to visit the local markets, see the Buddhist temples, and go rafting. There were some small flying insects in the wooden villas, but in a tropical rainforest area near a river, I think it's quite normal and acceptable. If you can't accept this, I suggest not coming to Mengla; this place is all about returning to nature. So I don't quite understand people who give negative reviews about small flying insects; these insects fly in the air, they're not crawling on the bed. The hotel breakfast included local specialty rice noodles, which were delicious."

Service: There is a warm greeting from the door, the front desk is super fast, and it also actively provides Laos entry and exit tips and local food guides; 24-hour customer service response is timely, the room cleaning is soft and whispering, and the details are full of super intimate.
Facilities: soft and skin-friendly bedding, excellent sound insulation; high-speed WiFi, smart TV, constant temperature shower, toiletries are complete; gym, restaurant, business center are available to meet business and leisure needs.
Hygienic: really impeccable! The sheets and quilts are white and stainless, the bathroom mirrors, countertops, and floor drains are clean, no water and no smell; daily cleaning is in place, even the dust next to the table corners and sockets is cleaned up.
Whether it is to come to Laos for cross-border business or border leisure travel, Zhouyi International Hotel is an absolute reliable choice! I have already recommended it to my peers, I must stay here again next time!"
