Mengla Hotels with balcony

"This was the second hotel we stayed at on our birdwatching trip in Menglun. It was originally a backup plan because we booked the Wanglian Hotel late, but after staying there, we found it to be a hidden gem. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the west gate of the botanical garden and the suspension bridge, which is very convenient. We walked there from the botanical garden. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately greeted by warm service. The landlady was incredibly welcoming, and there were complimentary candies, snacks, and fruits for guests to enjoy while they waited – a very thoughtful touch. After check-in, you can add the service WeChat account to let them know the breakfast time and location, nearby restaurants, and the Wi-Fi password. The service response time is also very fast; my room had a problem with the TV's internet connection, and it was resolved within 10 minutes. I think that's impressive for the town. The hotel facilities are relatively new, with a mahogany interior and ethnic style. The facilities are quite complete, and surprisingly, it even has a small gym – great! It's nice to get some exercise after a long day. The breakfast selection isn't extensive, but it's sufficient. If you don't want to eat breakfast there, there are many snack shops and night markets nearby. For example, there are many Dai-style restaurants in the village within a 500-meter walk of the hotel, offering authentic local flavors that are worth trying. The hotel has a relatively large parking lot, making it convenient for tourists arriving by car. A small gift is given upon check-out, which is also a nice touch. Overall, we stayed here for two nights, and our biggest impression was how incredibly welcoming the owner was. We were always ready to chat and provided a lot of information. If you're not particularly keen on the botanical garden night tour, this is a very good value accommodation in Menglun."

"The location is absolutely fantastic, making it the top choice for both night tours and daytime visits to the Chinese Academy of Sciences. However, the facilities are undeniably outdated; it's an old-fashioned hotel, and the breakfast is just average. Even for an old hotel, it barely scrapes by as a 3-star. The lack of charging stations is a major inconvenience, as you have to drive more than ten minutes from the east gate to the west gate to charge. But, if you're planning night tours and daytime sightseeing, I genuinely recommend it because you can directly access everything from the hotel lobby, which means more sleep! Despite the hotel being old, the service is prompt and the staff are quite nice."

"My stay here was absolutely fantastic! The room was spotless, and the bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, truly like sleeping on a cloud. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Check-in was swift, and they even thoughtfully recommended some great local eateries. The location is also superb, making it very convenient for getting around. I'll definitely be choosing this place again! The ambiance was elegant, the room decor felt very cozy, and all the facilities were top-notch. The breakfast spread offered a wide variety to satisfy all tastes. Overall, it was excellent value for money."

"The hotel's location right next to the botanical garden was super convenient for both evening and daytime visits with our child. Even though the facilities are a bit dated, the service and cleanliness were exceptional. Every staff member was so welcoming and enthusiastic. We had dinner at the hotel three times, and both the Chinese and Western dishes were delicious. The set menus were great value for money, and the 'Peacock Feast' was incredibly generous! The hotel also offered daily lantern-floating activities, and there were plenty of engaging activities for kids. On top of that, the complimentary travel photoshoot was fantastic! We got some amazing shots right on the hotel grounds. The makeup artist, photographer, and photo selector were all very professional, and the package price was reasonable, leaving us with wonderful memories from our trip. I have to especially commend the hotel's SPA! It was so incredibly relaxing, it felt like I was back in Thailand for a second! The therapists had expert techniques, and the products are supposedly made with ingredients imported from Thailand. I even bought some facial products after my session – a truly unforgettable experience! The riverside infinity pool is another highlight of the hotel, and our child absolutely loved it!"

"This was the first hotel we stayed at after arriving in Xishuangbanna. The environment was very quiet and the greenery was beautiful. It's a pity we arrived late at night and had to leave the next morning; my family said we should have come earlier to visit the local markets, see the Buddhist temples, and go rafting. There were some small flying insects in the wooden villas, but in a tropical rainforest area near a river, I think it's quite normal and acceptable. If you can't accept this, I suggest not coming to Mengla; this place is all about returning to nature. So I don't quite understand people who give negative reviews about small flying insects; these insects fly in the air, they're not crawling on the bed. The hotel breakfast included local specialty rice noodles, which were delicious."

"The most surprising experience of this trip to Mengla was the Levande Hotel! It's right near the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and only a 20-minute drive to the Wangtianshu Scenic Area (the front desk lady was so kind to let me know there's a weekend market going on there—you can ride a shared electric bus to experience the unique local night market life). You can even see Dai villages along the way. The location is perfect! Another comfort and convenience feature is the hotel's free pick-up service (because it was already past 7 p.m. and I hadn't realized how hard it was to get a taxi. After waiting for half an hour with no one to respond, I realized the hotel offered a pick-up service and quickly contacted the hotel through the booking process. The driver was incredibly friendly!) The hotel room was even bigger than I expected! Over 30 square meters was plenty comfortable! The tropical decor, large windows, and cleanliness were topped off! The disposable bath towels were especially impressive: individually sealed, thick, and lint-free. Upon opening, we found a thick, non-woven fabric that's highly absorbent and lint-free (a reassuring thought for those of us who are particular about hygiene and attention to detail)."

"The hotel offers a pickup service, which was absolutely perfect! The owner herself picked us up and dropped us off. Upon arrival, a staff member helped with our luggage, which was a thoughtful touch. I was amazed when I entered the room; it was even better than the pictures! The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation. This place was a pleasant surprise, offering excellent value for money. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Mengla for business or leisure. Wishing the owner a thriving business!"

"This B&B is quite good. The owner is very generous. You can eat any fruit in the lobby. He is also very polite and casual. When we asked him about the scenic spots and roads, he explained the scenic spots and roads in detail. When we left, we saw him cleaning the cobwebs with a long pole. In fact, we No spiders were seen, and the room looked very clean. The fourth floor was very bright and comfortable. There was a platform for drying clothes. I forgot to take pictures. There was also a swallow's nest at the elevator entrance. It was quite ecologically harmonious."
