"Very quiet hotel. Despite the magnificent building, all the staff are very close to the guests and care about their happiness. This time I stayed in a superior room with large windows. The area and direct light of the toilet are all you like. The restaurant offers a balanced buffet, exquisite breakfast and everything you want. Restaurant service and decent breakfast. The reception staff have excellent professionalism and a very friendly attitude. I recommend"
"A bit disappointed... booked a romantic weekend online. I booked a double bed room, we have a room for 3 people, an extra bed, these are the rooms booked on Trip.com according to the reception. The site does provide rooms for 3 people, but this is not reserved. The loss of space is large and the TV is small. As mentioned in the description we have not heard, there are no leisure facilities available, and no one is using the bar or restaurant. However, the reception provides manuals (this is a small reduction for partners). The parking lot is not practical until 10pm. The breakfast buffet is basic, but not always high quality (pseudo orange juice...).
Ants are also local residents. We saw them on the breakfast table and in our room!
In short a beautiful disappointment...I do not recommend a romantic weekend...
However, this building is superb."
"If you want to experience the life of a vampire, it is definitely worth coming. It fits this setting from all angles: a grand but decadent building, located in the mountains surrounded by dense forests, inconvenient transportation, a stunning lobby, super high windows, you can see the forest and fog, ancient furniture, not enough service staff so you have to wait for everything, old facilities, no food or drink, the roast suckling pig nearby is invincible but you have to take a taxi 5 kilometers down the mountain to eat.
Although the facilities and services are not worthy of this star, as a person with a Gothic sentiment, I didn't want to leave after living there for 3 days and getting used to this rhythm."

"L’accueil moyen, la dame a préféré la carte d’identité portugaise de mon mari plutôt que la mienne française alors que la réservation était à mon nom. Je n’ai pas trouvé cela très courtois. Chambre grande, propre mais odeur de moisissure."
"Fabulous. Impeccable service and staff, spa with very good heated pool. Sauna and jacuzzi included in the spa. The spa was free for guests to enter. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the chef deserves a Michelin star at the very least. It was simply divine. The breakfast was also very good. What an unforgettable experience, we felt as if we had enjoyed first class service in the 1920s. The whole atmosphere makes the guest feel like they are traveling back in time with all the luxury. The rooms are modern and comfortable. I've been to many guesthouses, but I've never been to a place like this that met all the requirements and gave that feeling of lost luxury. A jewel to (re)discover. The best historic hotel in Portugal. I will definitely be back very soon as there is no other palace hotel or guesthouse that comes close to this one."
"The cleaning ladies are very friendly. Carina, who is at the reception, is very friendly and very helpful, in contrast, I only have to point out the staff who were serving breakfast. I asked if I could have a table next to the window, since the tables that were prepared were all on the opposite side, they said yes, that I could take the dishes and take them to the other table. I did so, and sat down at a large table (I had only noticed these tables next to the window). When I went to get food, the two employees, who were always in the middle of the room, told me to use smaller tables. The room was quite empty, and from the number of tables prepared it was obvious that few customers were waiting, who would not use all the tables, as happened. The attitude of these two employees did not sit well with me. They could have taken the trouble to at least indicate the tables they wanted the customer to sit at (at the time I didn't notice the tables because they were on the side). They waited for the customer to change, and, in a law of least effort, they indicated that they had to change tables again. This difference in attitude from the reception to the restaurant makes all the difference in service.
Very clean and heated room with regulation. Very silent."
"reception sympathy
availability of gym
access to the pool by the hall of the hotel and through the bar
small lunch - only 1 variety of cheese and fiber, yogurts with inadequate conditioning"
"Pleasant. Good for 1-2 nights.
Breakfast is satisfactory for a 3-star hotel.
Only poor insulation in the rooms on the road side. You could hear the cars all night!"
