We spent a pleasant 2 nights in Tabino Lit Matsumoto. Special thanks to staff Yumiko, who was super helpful (she took initiative to fix my split soles that gave way suddenly), speaks good English, gives good advice on local information. Tabino hotel is fortunate to have such great staff. Breakfast was good with lots of healthy vegetables, Public bath was relaxing and not crowded during our stay.
The hotel facilities are a bit old, the refrigerator is very noisy, and there is thick dust behind the refrigerator.
But the service is really good, someone will come out to greet you and accompany you to check in, etc.

The facilities in an old hot spring hotel are a bit outdated, and the waiters are all elderly and can only use translation software to communicate.
The size of the small suite is okay. The Japanese tatami is too hard to sleep on. There are not many public baths, but they are very hot. The most amazing thing is the private bath on the 6th floor. No reservation is required. It is first come first served. You can see the city view and the distance. Mountain
The set meals for dinner and breakfast are so-so and can only satisfy your needs
Lived the best hotel in Japan. The place is small, but the layout is exquisite. Careful staff service. Carry your luggage to the room and explain each dish of dinner carefully. Indoor hot springs are arranged for men and women to change the hot spring room. Try two different arrangements. Dinner and breakfast are super good. The room was also very clean and comfortable. Especially recommended.
The hotel is only a 20 minute walk from the Upper Highland Bus Station. The public areas have been refurbished and the facilities are better. The rooms are old-fashioned hotel style, pillows and beds are just as usual. Good dinner. Take the child and don't want to toss, spend money to buy a convenient.
It seems like it has recently been renovated, so some of the basic parts are still old, but it was well-maintained and the facility was clean. I think the meals were well-balanced without being too heavy on meat.
The bath is said to come from a hot spring source, but it was so hot that I had to be careful to get into it. However, I think the power of the hot springs is that I was able to stay in light clothes until the morning without getting cold. If the changing room is dark, you will not feel safe, so I think it would be better if it was a little brighter.
I think the distance between the staff was just right, but since my luggage was heavy, I wish I had an elevator.
The location to the whole Kamikouchi mountains, forest and rivers is just perfect, the view was spectacular and the customer service provided by the staff in the hotel was exceptional, even much so than any hotels I've met in Singapore.
My only slight disappointment was in the food and the onsen that's in there. Though the outdoor view of both onsens were wonderful, you don't get the hot ones like how you can get from the volcanic onsens in other onsen based hotels. Food wise the vegetables they probably get the produce from around the area, but it doesn't feel great. What I really loved from the food surprisingly is the seafood quality and their desserts were spectacular.
Would love to give the. 6stars out of 5stars for their service and location, but a 3 for the onsen, and 4 for the food.
Location Is good , customer service very good, very helpful, bathroom 24 hrs is true spa , room is big

AAttattzzExcellent new hotel, very well furnished and decorated rooms. Shoes off as soon as you enter the hotel. They even have a cleaning machine at the entrance to clean the wheels of your luggage. Nice onsen, though a little small. Free popsicles and ramen for supper. Very close to Matsumoto Train station.
IInstandyFukashiso could be one of the loveliest accommodation that I have ever stayed at. The staff were very polite, attentive and extremely helpful and courteous. The place itself is so beautiful and quaint. Traditional garments are provided as an option if you want to dress up for dinner. Made for great photo ops! The Kaiseki was the most beautiful equivalent of a degustation I’ve tried, and it was served in a lovely separate intimate dining area. During dinner Nobu-San a fourth generation family member of the owners greeted us which was a lovely touch. Soba was freshly made at the accomodation. We stayed two nights and the Kaiseki menu was different each time. Breakfast was a nice assortment of Japanese and Western options and the coffee machine was actually pretty good. I enjoyed the onsens, there are two public ones that switch locations for men and women and a private one. They were well equipped and relaxing. Our room was on Level 1 with a private bathroom, seating area and little garden view. Overall this place is highly recommended. For a traditional ryokan experience, it was so nice. Even after we checked out, the receptionist gave us a little gift, and even walked us outside to where our car was parked. Such a warm and lovely place. Stay here for sure!
KKunyingExcellent location, just a 5-minute walk from Matsumoto Station! Spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious room for Japan. The free simple supper (ramen or croffle ice cream) was a nice touch. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious with a huge variety of options. Highly recommend this hotel for its convenience and value.
DDarrenPretty nice hotel at a convenient location (only 6 minutes walking from Matsumoto station). Amenities are aplenty, with ample washing machines/dryers and hot springs, sauna and cold pools. Free ice cream during the afternoon/night and yakult in the morning are plus points. Complimentary hot ramen at night is great as well. Many places to eat after hours nearby. Also comes with free mango pudding upon arrival in the fridge, which is nice.
Nice place to stay if you are planning to go to Kamikochi or just go around Matsumoto yourself or with loved ones.
GGuest UserMy return visit to the hotel as it was a very convenient place for short stay before venturing to the alpine hiking trails. This time, I managed to enjoy the natural Onsen at another hotel, which was free. It included free transport transferr and towel.
EElaineVery convenient location a stone throw away from the castle. The parking space is scarce. You may need to park abit further if the nearest ones are taken. Otherwise very comfortable stay with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was pretty good too.
GGodIsGood365Days🌈 We were SUPER THANKFUL for the EXCELLENT location 🤗 It was easy to get to the different places around Matsumoto 👏🏼 However, we were a little disappointed that the double room was a little squeezy as the floor area was small 💬 Even the double bed 🛏️ was actually too small for 2 persons 👤👤 We wanted to book the twin room but it was fully booked during our period of stay 😉
Nonetheless, the hotel was still a huge blessing to us as the location is what matters more to us 🤗 Thank you very much, Staff of Matsumoto 🏆 We enjoyed the yummylicious daily breakfast & complimentary coffee at the lobby of your hotel 🍱 ☕️
XXuxianglunLocation: It is a 10-15 minute walk from Matsumoto Station, but in the opposite direction to Matsumoto Castle. It takes more than 20 minutes to walk to Matsumoto Castle. If you plan to go sightseeing in Matsumoto Castle, you should consider it more.
Facilities: There is no toilet in the room (between bamboos). The public toilet is very close to the room and very clean. There is no heating in the corridor, so there is a big temperature difference when going to the toilet at night. Although the hotel has a hot spring, it is in an annex, across the street from the main hotel. If you want to soak in the hot spring at night, you must keep warm, otherwise you can only use the shower room attached to the main hotel.
GGuest UserFacilities: The Japanese-style room I booked has a spacious bedroom, but the entrance is very small, which makes it inconvenient to carry a suitcase in and out and change shoes. The bathroom is especially small. I have never seen such a mini bathroom in my life. Although the hotel is old, the equipment is well maintained.
Hygiene: It is clean.
Service: I stayed for two nights. The hotel does not provide in-room cleaning service. New towels will be hung on the door on the second day. Disposable items can be freely collected in the lobby, which is very convenient.
Environment: The hotel is in a good location, about 10 minutes walk from Matsumoto Station, and you can also walk to Matsumoto Castle. There are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and the hotel is on the edge of the downtown area. There is a small river in front of the door, which is very nice to be quiet in the bustling city.
HHuiruAlthough it is a little far from JR station and about 10 minutes walk, the quiet alley is very quiet. There is #soupの Huayi Tang Ruixiang Matsumoto Hall nearby. The hotel provides uninformed food and 3 bicycles to borrow, which is in line with my needs. In the morning, the sun and the sun, I rode a bicycle to Matsumoto City and Matsumoto Museum and Art Museum, which was very beautiful.
