"This hotel was right on top of the mountain. Great view of the neighboring villages and distant mountains. The staff was very kind but only spoke Thai. The hotel is owned by a very nice Hmong minority family. Our room came with pork dinner where you roast your own meat- very cool- and a simple but delicious rice porridge breakfast. This village is about a 1hr drive from Chiang Mai and it was easy to take a Grab there and also get a Grab back. Be prepared to walk uphill a lot. The only downside to Mon Jam (and the view) is the expansion and commercialization of the area, given the irony. The majority of our view were other resorts and their tents/rooms. This is definitely a very unique and novelty experience that should be taken at least once."
