"I initially thought this was just another Instagrammable hotel. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed upon check-in, as the service didn't quite measure up to what I've experienced at Ritz-Carlton Reserve. The room's location was just average, with many obstructions in front. I checked in on my birthday but wasn't offered a free room upgrade. The hotel wasn't crowded during my two-day stay, and the low guest density was quite comfortable. However, room maintenance was mediocre; there was a damp smell when I entered, frankly, it felt quite old. Also, the bathtub water didn't get hot enough for a proper soak. What truly deserves high praise is the unlimited complimentary laundry service, and the 24-hour in-room dining, available once a day, which was incredibly convenient – you just scan a QR code to order. Each person gets 2 drinks and 3 food items daily. The portions were ample, and the taste wasn't as bad as some people claim (for a Cantonese palate, it certainly wasn't unappetizing). The design and maintenance of the public pool were also excellent. I asked the manager, and he said the cliff elevator will be open in June, so future guests are in luck! Currently, they offer transportation to two beaches as an alternative, but I'd advise against it! It was super crowded, and the service was terrible – this was the only part of the trip that felt like a letdown. We wasted over an hour on two separate occasions and waited for half an hour standing at that Sunday Beach. In short, staying at the hotel is definitely better than venturing out. And don't worry about food; if you don't feel like eating at the restaurant, you can order takeout. Just inform your butler, and they'll deliver it from the hotel lobby to your door. The most important thing: tip generously (100k every time) and write down your wishes (even with limited English), and they'll usually be fulfilled. For example, asking for bags, toiletries, small gifts, etc. I also received a birthday amenity, a cake, and an aromatherapy diffuser. All in all, I was genuinely surprised and am already looking forward to my next stay!"

Hotel near Ubud,Bali
No. 4 of Luxury Hotels in Bali
A Sanctuary to Relax One's Mind, Body, and Soul Located in Bali's cultural and spiritual heart of Ubud where the lush jungle meets the Ayung River, Mandapa is an exclusive journey inside an indigenous Balinese village, providing a sensory journey to wellness and nature. Mandapa offers 35 suites, 25 private pool villas, four unique dining concepts, including exclusive dining beyond experiences within the Reserve, and a restorative Spa and fitness center. Designed as a sanctuary to relax one's mind, body, and soul, Mandapa offers individually tailored spiritual, well-being, and health programs as well as activities to suit travelers of all ages, such as Mandapa Camp, along with the personalized attention of a dedicated Patih or butler. Focusing on three core pillars—wellness, gastronomy, and sustainability—Mandapa creates a holistic and immersive experience for guests seeking renewal, culinary discovery, and a connection to the local environment.

"Overall, this hotel is a classic five-star establishment with a sense of history. Its location next to the Ayung River is excellent, but compared to some ultra-luxury hotels, the facilities might seem relatively simple and not as extensive as one might expect. In terms of design, it's clear the hotel has some age, yet its overall style leans towards an elegant, sophisticated old-money aesthetic. It doesn't feel outdated; instead, it exudes a timeless sense of understated luxury. The dining experience was good, with the Japanese restaurant being a particular highlight—the food was delicious. However, while the breakfast offered a combination of à la carte and buffet options, providing sufficient choices, the variety wasn't particularly abundant, and the taste didn't quite meet my high standards. What truly impressed me the most was the service. Among all the hotels I've stayed in, this one's service is arguably the best and most ceremonial to date. Every single staff member was incredibly enthusiastic, meticulous, and genuinely cared for the guests, making you feel treated like a king or queen. As for the hardware, it's standard high-end five-star configuration—nothing overly surprising, but certainly above expectations."

Set in the tranquil hills of Jimbaran, Raffles Bali features ocean-view pool villas with private 32 sqm infinity pools. Enjoy award-winning fine dining, exclusive private dining in the Secret Cave, and personalized 24-hour Raffles Butler service for a truly unforgettable Bali escape.

"The room offered a fantastic view, with an excellent sea view and a large courtyard. The swimming pool was a spacious rectangular shape. However, the public area facilities were rather basic and unremarkable. Breakfast was à la carte, but the quality was average, with issues including poor service, disorganized serving, and some staff members showing impatience and irritability when asked for their food, failing to address the problems proactively. Even after we had finished eating, they brought us a waffle to recommend, which we refused when we said we hadn't ordered it and had already eaten. This behavior is highly unacceptable for a five-star hotel; offering unsolicited and unrecognizable food is disrespectful. Compared to other hotels I've stayed at, it was unremarkable, rather ordinary, and the service was somewhat unpleasant."

Hotel near Ubud,Bali
No. 11 of Luxury Hotels in Indonesia
Set in the lush wilderness of Buahan village in northern Ubud, one of Bali's most untapped enclaves, the adults-only Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape offers unique discovery experiences with a "no walls, no doors" concept in communion with nature. Each of the 16 bales (villas) features a 180-degree view of the Balinese jungle and majestic mountain peaks, a private pool and naturally sourced materials.

"Book the best valley-view room type! The basic rooms are at the bottom of the valley with average views, and they tend to be damp with cold pool water. The upgraded rooms are halfway up the mountain, offering excellent views, fewer insects, no dampness, and a constant 40-degree (Celsius) heated pool. Dinner has a lot of vegetarian options. The spa has a great ambiance and excellent service. The hotel staff are wonderful, and you can even spot many small squirrels. It's a perfect secluded getaway, a truly unique experience worldwide. Highly recommended! (Be cautious if you're particularly afraid of insects.)"

Hotel near Ubud,Bali
No. 10 of Luxury Hotels in Indonesia
Inspired by a traditional village Amandari is framed by jungle and rice terraces in Balis cultural heartland. Alang-alang-thatched houses some with pools - all with private tropical gardens - cosset guests under bamboo ceilings their suites elegantly decorated with teak and coconut-wood. The grounds are both sacred and essential to local families; children attend dance classes here and religious processions pass through regularly leading down the steps that spill below Amandari to a 7th-century stone tiger - a motif repeated throughout the property. Follow the road out of the village to hike or bike the emerald-green landscape or head further afield for artisan villages - hidden temples and the palaces and boutiques of Ubud. Overlooking a tranquil lily pond the Spas offerings range from massages and manicures to traditional Balinese treatments. Both Indonesian and Western dishes are specialities at the open-air Restaurant or dine intimately in the rainforest with a private chef. Set amid aromatic frangipani trees and the enveloping warmth of a Balinese village Amandari is perfectly suited to special occasions of all kinds.

"Aman will always be Aman, and the world's Aman resorts are all about Asia. Aman Denin, nestled deep within Ubud, half rainforest and half village, perfectly combines ultimate luxury with a back-to-nature, secluded lifestyle. The service is beyond description. My girlfriend caught a cold at the waterfall the day before, and after informing the butler via WeChat, a medical team arrived within an hour to provide consultation, IV fluids, and medication. Highly recommended; absolutely top-tier service."

"This is very important, so I'll say it three times: the soundproofing in the ocean view suites is absolutely terrible! If you have trouble sleeping, don't choose this one! On our first night in the ocean view suite, our whole family barely slept. The sound of the waves was like thunder, and we couldn't sleep until the tide went out around midnight (we've stayed in many beachfront hotels, and we're certain it's a hardware design issue). The next day, we contacted the hotel, and their solution was to upgrade to a garden view room but not refund the price difference. What kind of logic is it to downgrade a room just because we didn't get a good rest due to poor hotel facilities? We asked for an early check-out, but the hotel refused. They also refused to accept the price difference as a deferred payment, only agreeing to a late check-out on the third day. The whole experience felt incredibly rigid, or rather, arrogant. Finally, Ctrip refunded the price difference, which resolved the issue. Otherwise, our trip would have been a complete disaster. We moved from Aman Resorts, arriving at around 9 AM. Our booked room wasn't ready yet, and Aman even arranged another villa for us to rest in. The difference in service was stark. However, the service in other areas was excellent; the restaurant and room service were great, and the Chinese-speaking butler was very patient. What deserves special praise is the hotel's independent Japanese and Western restaurants perched on the cliff, where the views of the waves and sunsets are absolutely stunning, and the service is exceptional. The best time to watch the waves is from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM."

The Aman Villas at Nusa Dua are also the perfect starting point for a journey through Indonesia with Aman- Amandari - Amankila - Amanwana and Amanjiwo are all within easy reach. Massages scrubs and beauty treatments informed by Balinese traditions are available in guests suites. Cuisine focuses on local produce and seafood from nearby Jimbaran Market. Imbued with a sense of space and serenity each occasion is joyfully and gracefully choreographed.

"1. Lot: There is a 3-5 minute distance from the beach. The hotel can send a car to the hotel's exclusive beach club at any time. Very convenient, when I arrived at the club, some staff took ice water and ice towels to the tanning pavilion where the beach towels were laid, as well as mosquito repellent and sunscreen. The hotel is in the mountains, the scenery is very good, in the lobby and restaurant can view the scenery under the mountain. 2, design: Australian designers 25 years ago, today's works are still so elegant, temperament! 3, facilities: the pool is large, there is an all-day restaurant, a good library. I can’t see it completely 25 years ago, and it’s managed quite well! 4, service: Amman, these two words explain everything, no more multilingual! 5, value-added: I don't know the relationship between spring break, one day free charter service, and free shuttle service, solve many problems, very good value-added service experience! After staying for 3 days and 2 nights, it is regrettable that the driver who sent the plane on the last day learned that the landlord will be closed at the end of February 2018 because the landlord will not renew his contract. Very sad! But also very fortunate, AMANNUSA was chosen in the last hotel in Bali. Forever Amman! I hope that 150 employees in the hotel will be well!"

"This highly-rated potato head hotel... the service is truly excellent. I didn't experience any discriminatory treatment towards Chinese guests; someone was always there to guide me, and the staff's memory was outstanding. They remembered every small request I made and followed up on them. The hotel has a beach club right on the sea that's open to the public. It gets super lively and energetic starting at 6 PM every evening. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, offering both activities and relaxation – it's fantastic."

GGuest UserThis was the most perfect hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff were all friendly. I had dinner at the aperitif, a French course meal. It was called ”Mid Journey,” and it was a truly enjoyable meal, as if I was on a real trip. On my last day, I went to Ubud Monkey Forest, but it was so hot. I returned to the hotel, grabbed my luggage, took a shower, and headed to the airport. I was so grateful for the refreshing return. The private pools in each room were so nice that I didn't even need to use the public pool. I'll definitely be back next time!!

TTaejin EmmaMy beloved Regent Bali... ♥ My love, Regent Bali Canggu… 💚 Bali became a place I want to return to—all thanks to Regent… 🌴 We stayed here for our honeymoon, and for 4 nights and 5 days, it was nothing but pure admiration… I’m actually quite picky when it comes to hotels. I usually avoid even touching the bare floor, and I’m very sensitive about cleanliness—whether it’s utensils or the bathroom. But here… I walked around barefoot the entire time, completely at ease, as if I were at home. That alone says everything—the level of cleanliness is absolutely outstanding. Even the interior design was breathtaking. I heard that the wooden carvings on the bathtub and sink were all handcrafted, and you can truly feel the luxury and artistry in every detail. It made every moment of using the space feel special and joyful. Even the amenities were impressive—especially the conditioner! Usually, hotel products leave my hair stiff, but this one made it feel as soft as if I had just been to a salon. Also, I know many people worry about Bali belly. We usually bring a shower filter with us whenever we travel, but this was the only hotel where the filter stayed completely clean—just like in Korea. After checking it midway, we even brushed our teeth with the tap water, and we had absolutely no issues :) The beach club, Taru Restaurant Regent Bali, and everything else—the cocktails and food were simply perfect! And most of all, I will never forget the kindness and exceptional service from the staff. Thank you for giving us such beautiful memories. Next time, we’ll definitely come back with our parents!

YyexuyanHaving visited Bali four times, this cliffside hotel offered the best experience, on par with Amankila, where I stayed a few months ago. With only eight villas in total, we booked a two-bedroom ocean view villa. It had a huge living room and even a game room (though we only played a racing game for a bit, unfortunately). The hotel's environment is beyond words; the ocean view is almost identical to the Alila I stayed at previously. My only regret was being overconfident based on past experience. Previous Chinese New Year trips to Bali were always sunny, but this year, Chinese New Year was late, and by the time we arrived, it was already the rainy season. We stayed for four nights and only got half a day of sunshine to explore the cliffside road; the rest of the time was gloomy and rainy. Important advice repeated three times: NEVER go to Bali during the rainy season, NEVER go to Bali during the rainy season, NEVER go to Bali during the rainy season, or you'll question all your life choices. Special shout-out: The hotel's in-room dining is incredible! The Tomahawk steak was the best I've ever had, far superior to even the most expensive French restaurants in Beijing. The portion was very generous, and the grilled lobster was also excellent; I had it three times. The value for money is exceptional, not expensive at all compared to Icon Bali mall. The only minor drawback was the lack of a Chinese-speaking butler. We've stayed at nearly twenty hotels in Bali, including Four Seasons, Amankila, Soori, and Banyan Tree, and this cliffside hotel would still be our top choice for a return visit.

AAnonymous UserSeven years ago, I had the pleasure of staying at the St. Regis Bali, and I was absolutely blown away by their breakfast. Now that my children are older, I brought them back for a return visit, and I'm thrilled to say the breakfast is still as abundant and exquisite as ever. Every dish is beautifully plated. We stayed for seven days, and every single day we discovered something new; the daily special hidden menu was constantly innovative. I honestly worried we'd be spoiled! The hotel butler service is incredibly thoughtful. Even though we didn't plan anything, our butler, Adi, provided excellent sightseeing recommendations tailored to our interests. What truly stood out was the Food and Beverage Director, who personally oversaw everything each day, curating dishes perfectly suited for guests. Every dish he created was a feast for the eyes and the palate, with rich flavors and meticulously chosen ingredients. Both of my children absolutely adored him. The hotel suites are spacious, both the interior and the balcony. They were cleaned twice a day, morning and evening, and were impeccably spotless. We were also delightfully surprised each day to find complimentary snacks and drinks thoughtfully left in our room upon our return to the hotel! All the restaurants within the St. Regis consistently offer hygienic and delicious food. We tried almost all of them. Beyond the unparalleled, luxurious breakfast at Boneka, which everyone raves about, there's also Kayuputi, an award-winning fine dining restaurant with breathtaking ocean views. From the decor to the cuisine to the service, it's absolutely flawless! Thank you, St. Regis, for an absolutely perfect holiday. See you next time!

GGuest UserReview for The Legian Bali, Seminyak– Exceptional Service Beyond Expectations! I cannot say enough about the incredible service at The Legian in Bali. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful surroundings, luxurious accommodations, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. What truly set them apart, however, was their unparalleled attention to detail and genuine care for their guests. During our stay, my daughter lost a sentimental earring, and despite searching, we couldn’t find it. We mentioned it in passing to the staff, not expecting much, but to our absolute surprise, two days after we checked out, I received an email from the resort—with an image of the earring they had found! Their dedication to customer service, even after we had left, speaks volumes about their commitment to excellence. It’s rare to find such a thoughtful and proactive team, and this experience alone guarantees that we will be returning to The Legian on our next trip to Bali. If you’re looking for a resort that truly cares about its guests and goes the extra mile, look no further. A huge thank you to the amazing staff—your kindness and attention to detail made all the difference! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

FfafafafaaaaI had such a wonderful memory from my last stay at Jumeirah, so I specifically brought my mother this time. Everything else was fine; the room was perfect, and the staff were very professional. The only frustrating incident happened at Akasa restaurant. This time, I still didn't get the front-row sea view table, even though I booked a week in advance and left a note. But that's okay, I completely understand, as the restaurant is incredibly popular. However, during sunset, our neighbors went to the table behind us where they light the torches to take photos. So, I stood in the corner next to their table and took a few pictures. Less than a minute later, a staff member came over and told me not to take photos??? First of all, this table was empty at the moment, and the guests were also taking pictures at another table. Secondly, I only took pictures for less than a minute, I wasn't one of those people who spend ten minutes trying to get the perfect shot. Finally, I wasn't the first or only one to go to that corner to take photos, so what's the deal??? Although the manager sincerely apologized and offered two complimentary drinks as compensation after I complained, I'm still so annoyed! 😡 I'll probably come back to Jumeirah, but Akasa is a definite maybe. Of course, they probably don't need my business anyway.

Amazing
AAeroXStepping across the suspended boardwalk, I entered the mystical realm of the Ubud rainforest. ✨ The rainforest villa, nestled amidst lush valleys, exuded a sense of Zen with its teak furniture and handmade textiles, while the private pool reflected the layered greenery. Waking up to bird song in the morning and falling asleep to the gentle murmur of the Ayung River at night, this tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle is truly a balm for the soul. The riverside restaurant was an even bigger surprise. Facing the river valley beneath swaying palm trees, the slow-roasted Balinese duck with satay sauce was incredibly aromatic, and the French gratin incorporated local spices, offering a double feast for both taste buds and eyes. As the evening breeze swept through, listening to the symphony of flowing water and chirping insects, this is truly the relaxation a vacation should embody~

Great
AAnonymous UserThe room was large and clean. I was surprised that there were no mosquitoes at night. The room also had a pool and sun spa with lounge chairs. The hotel's scenery was really amazing. Ubud is my favorite place in Bali.

Great
AAnonymous UserI recently had an unforgettable vacation at Alila Villas Uluwatu, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a tranquil luxury experience. Location and Atmosphere: Perched on the cliffs of southern Bali, the hotel offers expansive views of the Indian Ocean, with sunsets that are truly picturesque. Every return to the room, every quiet moment by the private pool, was filled with the beautiful fusion of sea breeze, sunset, and serenity. Room Type and Amenities: We stayed in a One Bedroom Pool Villa. The room design was modern and tasteful, with a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces; opening the glass sliding doors led directly to the private pool. The villa was fully equipped and impeccably clean, giving an immediate sense of 'this is where I want to stay.' Service and Details: The staff were friendly and professional, making every step from check-in to check-out comfortable and well-cared for. A special thanks to our villa butler/restaurant staff for arranging delightful little surprises that made the entire trip even more heartwarming. Dining Experience: There's a wide variety of dining options, whether you prefer Indonesian flavors, Mediterranean cuisine, or healthy light meals, each offering its own unique taste. Breakfast was abundant, and dining for lunch and dinner in such a scenic environment was particularly enjoyable. Reason for Recommendation: If you're looking for a resort where you can relax and be surrounded by beauty, Alila Villas Uluwatu is an excellent choice. Our trip was incredibly rewarding, and we will definitely return if given the chance.

Very Good
GGuest UserFor three adults with three breakfasts, Ctrip's quoted price already included an extra bed. So, upon entering the villa, an extra bed had already been set up in the living room. The private pool in the villa isn't small (pic 3), but there are no lights in the pool, making it unsuitable for swimming at night. The view looking down from the cliff is stunning (pic 2). The elevator down to the bottom of the cliff is fantastic. However, the beach at the bottom isn't great; it's all pebbles (I've been to the paid beach at Uluwatu, and it's also all pebbles). The sand is coarse. The Rock Bar directs villa guests to the topmost circular observation deck (pic 1). However, if you try to book via the Ayana app, you'll find you can't get the good spots. This is because no matter how early you book, the best seats on the circular observation deck are reserved for Europeans. If you're Asian, they won't let you sit in the prime spots. I went very early but was still assigned a seat partially obstructed by a pillar. Europeans who arrived later were directly guided to the best spots. Two Korean couples even got the best seats after arguing. Also, Dava Restaurant (exclusive to villa guests) is located behind the villa lobby, next to the infinity pool. The food is good, and there are live singing performances in the evening. I highly recommend this restaurant for villa guests. No reservations are needed; you can just walk in. The buffet in the non-villa area has a decent view, but the food is mediocre, it's crowded, and the restrooms in the restaurant tend to be dirty. If you don't mind, one visit is enough. Another positive point is that the deposit was directly deducted from our expenses (unlike at Bulgari, where they don't deduct the deposit from your bill, and it takes two weeks to get it back).
