"This hotel, formerly the Peninsula Excelsior, is divided into a South Tower and a North Tower, with the South Tower generally considered better by online reviewers. Its location is excellent, within walking distance to Merlion Park, National Gallery Singapore, National Museum of Singapore, and Fort Canning Park. Chinatown is also just a 20-minute walk away, which is incredibly convenient. Next door is Funan Mall, which houses a FairPrice Finest supermarket, where we got all our food and drinks for a few days. I booked a standard room and specifically requested a room in the South Tower during check-in. I got room 1106, which faced the hotel, overlooking the pool and the lobby's canopy. It should have been a relatively quiet room type, but I could still hear occasional sounds from the fire station and intermittent machinery noises (not sure where they were coming from). The room's cleanliness was generally acceptable, but the fingerprints on the window glass remained uncleaned from check-in until check-out. During my extended stay, I noticed the housekeeping staff took off their shoes when entering to clean, and the room was tidied up quite well. The mattress is quite firm, so it might not be suitable if you prefer a softer bed. There were three types of pillows to choose from, but no latex pillows. The step in the bathroom tripped me three times; it was quite tricky. Toiletries didn't include cotton swabs or combs. I had to dial 0 to request them and waited for at least an hour..."

"Stayed for 1N for staycation - just wish to decompress from work and dont wanna travel out of the country. I choose this hotel on ourpose for the high floor option and the Marina Bay view. The highlight was definitely the room and the spectacular views from the 46th floor. Watching Singapore change from day to night was beautiful, and waking up to the morning skyline was just as memorable. The room was comfortable and the overall hotel experience felt relaxing and special, which was exactly what we wanted from a staycation. Breakfast was enjoyable too, with a pleasant atmosphere and good variety. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and a lovely way to slow down and appreciate Singapore from a different perspective. Would definitely consider coming back for another staycation."

"This hotel offers incredible value for money! It's conveniently located right next to a police station, Fort Canning Park, a famous Bak Kut Teh restaurant, and a church. There's also a shopping mall downstairs, making dining super easy. The room was very clean, simple, and bright. While not huge, it was perfectly sufficient for two people traveling. We didn't get to fully explore Fort Canning Park downstairs due to the summer heat, but it's a large park with lush trees and a beautiful design, definitely worth a visit."

"The location is ideal and easily accessible, near Funan IT mall and various shopping malls, as well as reachable by MRT and buses. The room is clean and facilities are complete, except that the air conditioner is centrally controlled and the room is still warm despite 23 degrees. Nonetheless, there is fan in the room to cool down. The lounge service is absolutely good. Overall, the hotel is recommendable."

"The hotel is very clean, and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. When checking in, you just hand your luggage directly to the staff, and after you complete the check-in process on the fourth floor, someone will bring your luggage directly to your room. When checking out, you leave your luggage on the fourth floor, and then pick it up on the first floor when you're ready to leave, which is super convenient. The hotel also has drinking water available, so remember to fill up your water bottle before heading out. It's also close to two subway lines, making getting around very easy."

"This is the most satisfying hotel I've stayed at in Singapore. Its location is superb, right next to Raffles City shopping mall. The hotel has direct access to the mall and the MRT station. Even if the mall isn't open early in the morning, you can still access the MRT via the ground floor. Ya Kun Kaya Toast is in the basement, making breakfast very convenient. The MRT's East-West line connects to all major attractions, so it's incredibly convenient. The hotel service is excellent. On our first day, the front desk helped us store our luggage, and by the afternoon when our room was ready, our bags were already in it. They offer turndown service every evening, which is a lovely touch. They proactively provide amenities for children, and the bedding is very comfortable. The view from the balcony overlooks Marina Square and the Merlion – it's absolutely amazing!"

"I booked a superior room with bakcony for 1 day and through another company the same type of room for next 4 nights! The night shift receptionist was really rude and told me for the 1st day i booked a superior room with balcony but the other 4 not! He also told that i did not understand what i booked!!!!!! After circa 10 minutes of arguments i told him we will see what is wrong or right next day!!! Next day i just presented my booking and the day shift receptionist was soooo kind and he said that i can be in a room with bigger balcony !!! So the management has 1. To check all the web-partners and to give the same names of the room types 2. The room type description has to be in all papers of the booker 3. Some receptionists are really rude and terrorize the guests!!!!"

"The Clan Hotel truly deserves a dedicated review, even from someone like me who rarely writes them. The hygiene is excellent, and our corner room had two massive windows. The metro station is right downstairs, and they provide complimentary snacks and drinks. While there's no bottled water, they offer a direct drinking water tap, tea cakes, and coffee. The front desk staff was incredibly nice; we checked in close to midnight and I left my phone at the front desk in a daze, but the lady kindly brought it up to our room. There's a small infinity pool on the 30th floor which is quite serene. I highly recommend this hotel for couples or families with older children exploring the city."

"Overall, the stay was excellent. The hotel is completely non-smoking, and the bedding and room had no odors whatsoever, which was a huge plus. The room was meticulously cleaned. The housekeeper on our floor was Chinese, which made communication very easy. The soundproofing in the room was good, and it was very quiet at night. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. The TV had Chinese channels, which was a nice touch for Chinese guests. The service was very thoughtful; noticing we drank a lot of water, they proactively replenished extra bottled water for us in the following days. They also noticed we wore glasses and brought us lens cleaning cloths. A large proportion of the staff spoke Chinese, so there were no communication barriers. The breakfast selection wasn't overly extensive but was decent, and most requests were accommodated. I needed to monitor my blood sugar, and after informing the server, they prepared a sugar-free overnight oats option for me the very next day. My only minor complaints are that the hairdryer in the room was a bit heavy and the airflow wasn't very strong; I hope they can replace it with a lighter, more powerful model. The complimentary body lotion was a bit hard to spread and absorbed slowly. Overall, the excellent service added a lot to our experience, and we had a very comfortable stay."

"Facilities: The hotel is well-equipped and very new, with no dated feel. The sheets and duvet covers were clean and odorless, and I wasn't bitten by any bugs. A big plus for me was that the room has a sofa that converts into a bed, so when traveling with a child, you don't have to squeeze into one bed. You can get a good night's sleep; it easily fits one adult as it's a decent-sized sofa bed. You can email the hotel to have them set up the sofa bed in advance. Hygiene: Very clean, no unkempt or dirty spots. Service: The front desk has Chinese-speaking staff who are very friendly and polite. The hotel is just a 300-meter walk from the subway station, making it convenient to get anywhere. You can see Marina Bay Sands from the rooftop pool! 😊 The only potential downside is that the soundproofing is just average, but after a day of exploring, sleeping with earplugs is absolutely fine. Still, I highly recommend it! ~~"
