"With a six-year-old child, the big bed is enough to sleep, very quiet, the bath water is a little small but enough. The scenery in the yard is very good, the opposite is the mountain, after the night, the stars are a little bit, and the family lights up. The decoration at home is elegant and I like it very much. There are two very handsome black dogs. The landlord is very graceful, the service is very intimate, breakfast and dinner are here to eat, very satisfied, the landlord will sit next to help you introduce the local food, will not help you to replace the taste. Especially the dinner is just New Year's Eve, the New Year's Eve dinner of the Lankan family in the exotic country, there is no flavor, a very satisfactory stay."

Мебель нормальная, матрас хороший. Есть душ, но вода холодная и водонагреватель не успевает нагревать. Неплохо оборудована кухня. Есть микроволновка, электрочайник и холодильник. В жилой комнате можно включать вентилятор. У него 5 скоростей.
Самое плохое в доме это подъезд. Высоко и неудобно. Ночью дорога освещается лишь частично. Не для пеших прогулок вечерами."

"There are many hotels and B&Bs on this hilltop, so the view is naturally good; the walkway is a bit musty, but the room is ok; the breakfast buffet is ok; the seafood at the rooftop dinner is not good, the shrimp is frozen; the rich people go out to walk the elephants in the morning, and prepare fruits when checking out, so that you can feed the elephants if you encounter them, which is quite interesting"

"酒店非常新淨，冷氣很足，熱水也很快，風景非常優美，看着可以發呆一整天。餐廳食物不錯，咖喱雞是我在斯里蘭卡吃過最好味的，不過建議詢問當天有什麼食物提供，提供用餐時間，好讓他們準備，因為只有一兩位服務員，其中一位非常友善，可是英文不太好，但是都很熱心幫忙，另外一位會whatspp提供幫助，英文非常好，是可以信賴的人。
唯一要注意是沒有電梯，而且沒有風筒，個人用品也建議自己帶備。中間亦試過突然停電一小段時間，但是很快會回復，不會影響正常生活，且酒店大門沒有上鎖。另外我住了兩晚，可是服務員沒有收拾房間，而且第一天在洗手間看到一隻很大隻的蜘蛛，不過這是住在郊外的代價，想要看到優美的風景，便有機會會遇上野生昆蟲。
由市中心上酒店的路途風景優美，酒店步行15分鐘左右有小段瀑布，非常優美，有興趣可以叫篤篤司機停低拍照欣賞。另外留意因為居住比較偏遠，所以附近不會有餐廳，建議在市中心補給才回酒店。
整體還是非常推薦，但是要有心理準備不會準時區般這麼方便，但是值得的。"

EEnglish RoseMisty Hills Villa Kadugannawa boasts the most incredible view over local mountains, best enjoyed if you are taking a cooling dip in the (small, but perfectly positioned) infinity pool! My husband and I were very well looked after during our short stay. The hotel staff served lovely breakfasts, organised two dinners for us and booked a tuk tuk for a day trip to Kandy. They also surprised me with a beautiful little cake on my birthday and even sang to me! The only small points I would make is that the dinners are not actually cooked on site - and that the staff did not offer to clean or make up our bedroom during our 3 night stay. Nevertheless, much kindness and warmth was demonstrated towards us and we loved the rural position of the property.

The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture.
The Bad
The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient.
The Ugly
Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort.
Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.

I took shelter from the rain in front of this hotel. The clerk warmly invited me to rest inside and ordered ice cream. I actually booked this hotel for the first time. The location is great and it’s right by the lake.

GGuest Userhad pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of service and hospitality we received. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable.
The team was incredibly helpful in arranging transportation and suggesting places to visit. They recommended we attend the Tooth Relic Procession and suggested us to visit a waterfall, which turned out to be the most breathtaking waterfall I've ever seen. Their local knowledge truly enhanced our experience.
When our cab dropped us off in the mid , the hotel staff immediately came to pick us up in tuk-tuk.
The staff was consistently polite and accommodating, making us feel welcome and valued throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place where the staff genuinely cares about making your stay special. Thank you for the experience!

TTraveling TanHotel Suisse carries a colonial charm that takes you back in time. The food is good, offering a fair range of choices. However, the dining experience was slightly marred by some worn napkins. The air conditioning in our room was a bit loud, but it didn't keep us from having a comfortable stay. The single, only problem I had was the waiter at the restaurant kept asking me, “are you okay, is everything good?” literally every 2 minutes. After saying “yes, thank you” multiple times, he stands there and starts a conversation, and once, just stands there and looks at me. The only thing I want to do is eat my food in peace. Lastly, after the only thing he brought me was a cappuccino (as it was a buffet so I fetch my own food), I gave a 1000 lkr tip. He was visibly upset with this and his over-friendliness completely disappeared. I didn’t dare to go back to the restaurant after this. Food was good, however!

YYOUJUNI used this hotel with a backpacker I met locally. It's a good place to sleep.
WiFi is weak on the upper floor and you need to climb the slope to go to this hotel.
However, access to Candy city was good and it was good to be able to walk on the shores of the lake. Also, I am satisfied because there was an elephant on the way to go and I was allowed to test drive.

GGuest UserThe owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely.
Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source.
The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue.
Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat.
The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross).
The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up.
The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good.
Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location.
Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!
