hotel has a history that makes staying here worth the price and experience, walking into the lobby, one is transported back in time to a space of 1800s as they have preserved the hotel in it's origin condition. the high ceilings with hanging lights, wide red carpeted stairs and antique birdcage elevators adds bring out the beauty and charm of old. we booked a city view room and was upgraded to a pool view room, where it's less quite and the rooms more exquisite. hotel breakfast restaurant overlooks Kandy lake, giving the morning meal another layer of admiration as we dine in wood furnitured environment. location is superb, Kandy Lake and Buddha Tooth Temple just across the street and the Big Buddha Temple less than 25mins stroll away. lots of good food places around for one to explore and eat. rooms are old but charming that way, the wooden floors creak and is uneven but that's the fun of staying in a hotel with almost 200years of history. staff are charming and friendly, always ready to help. a prestigious hotel in Kandy, highly recommended for anyone who visits this beautiful city on a mountain top.

We had an amazing stay. The house is located at the very top of the hill, so we had the best view from our room. We would also like to thank the lady and Mr. Dinesh, our driver, from the bottom of our hearts, for their help and kindness. He even gave us a gift on our departure🥹 we can’t wait to visit Kandy again!

The room was quite spacious. There were three of us, and they provided an extra bed. When I booked on Trip.com, I saw that the beds were listed as 1.3 meters, but they all turned out to be quite large – the double beds were mostly 1.8 meters, and the single beds were about 1 meter. This hotel is located on a hill, and we stayed on the second floor, which didn't have an elevator, but the staff helped with our luggage. Breakfast is available at the hotel. The staff confirmed our breakfast time the night before, and we could choose between local Sri Lankan breakfast and English breakfast. One of the local dishes was extremely spicy; I took one bite and started coughing non-stop. A young man saw this and immediately brought me a glass of water – the service was absolutely fantastic. The milk tea was delicious, sweet with a slight bitterness, a bit like Hong Kong's Yuanyang. Very good!

The hotel overlooks Kandy, and every room has a balcony with a view. The restaurant boasts excellent views and reasonable prices. If you'd like to have dinner, you don't need to book a room with dinner included. It's recommended to order directly from the restaurant, as the included dinner is a four-course Western meal, which is too much to finish. Ordering directly offers more choices and prevents you from overeating.

Everything is good, the hosts are attentive and responsive, the location is good, the kinds are chic, breakfast is not bad, the room is also in good condition, for a couple of days the most, I recommend 👍

The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, with convenient transportation. The rooms are relatively large and clean. I went to the hotel expecting three meals to be included, but ended up not having any meals. Although I refunded 11💲, the experience was not good. It can only be said that it is at the domestic economic business level and is not recommended.

Convenient location. Pleasant interior. Hot water, private balcony with plants, kettle, refrigerator, air conditioning. Breakfast included, along with a welcome drink. Early in the morning, we saw monkeys running across the balcony roof.

Located near the Temple of the Tooth. But then again, the entire area around Kandy Lake isn't that big. I stayed for one night, and the facilities and service were all quite good. It felt a bit like a domestic three-star hotel. The room was pretty spacious and even had air conditioning, which is a rare treat in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was decent too.

This hotel is on the top of the mountain. The view is very good, the environment is OK, the building is very distinctive, including the decoration of the room, but the worst thing is that the hygiene is very worrying, the door is a bit old, the refrigerator is so dirty that you can't get it off, and there are stains under the toilet seat There were urine stains and hair on the bed. The bed was two beds pushed together and it was uncomfortable to sleep on. The quilt was a sheet and was too tight to pull out. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Fortunately, there was a blanket in the cabinet to cover it with. Regarding the food, it’s not good either.

Thank you for the upgrade to the room with a balcony, and I absolutely love the huge bathroom. Thank you for the friendly service staff who answered my every query. Waking up to the quiet of Kandy Lake before the rest of the city wakes was a really peaceful feeling and I really enjoyed just standing on tje balcony soaking in the sights. Loving the wide breakfast spread too, ranging from local fare to continental selection. I was spoilt for choice and my tummy really loved the chicken curry & daal. Thank you.
