The Hyatt Regency Lanzhou was more than just a place to stay; it became an integral part of my wonderful memories during this trip to Lanzhou. It perfectly blended breathtaking scenery, top-notch facilities, and warm hospitality.

A point to note, the room window can only be unlocked by staff for cooler air flow as the central heating system is in operation for the current winter season. "The hotel is located in the Old Street commercial district. Finding parking was a bit of a hassle, but if you call the front desk beforehand, their directions are very clear. I had forgotten my contact lens solution and couldn't buy any since I arrived late. When I asked the front desk for help, they surprisingly lent me their personal solution to use! Huge appreciation for their kindness and excellent service. The beef noodles at breakfast were delicious, although other options were somewhat limited. The overall environment of the hotel is pleasant, and despite its location in a busy commercial area, the room was quiet and undisturbed. There are many convenient dining options nearby; I recommend trying the 'Kang Guo Yang Rou' (pot-stewed lamb)."

"How to put it? I saw this hotel recommended online and was pleasantly surprised! The lobby isn't huge but the functional areas are well laid out, with a drinks section and a lounge area. Our room, 6007, was on the 6th floor, a perfect distance from the elevator – not too noisy. They even gave us breakfast vouchers (though I slept in and missed breakfast, haha!) – really appreciate that. The front desk staff had called ahead to ask about our arrival time and provide hotel info. When we arrived, it was a bit chilly in Lanzhou as winter was setting in, so the front desk guy poured us some local specialty 'Sanpaotai' tea to warm us up. It was sweet and delicious! The service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Check-in was quick, and entering the room was another pleasant surprise: it had both a humidifier and an oxygen machine! 🥹 Honestly, the climate here is so dry, so these were lifesavers. The fully smart-equipped room was incredibly convenient; Xiao Du (the smart assistant) promptly handled our takeaway orders and room service requests. I really loved the room's decor; the overall layout and color scheme were very comfortable. After exploring in the evening, we even received welcome fruit. All in all, this stay truly touched me, and I'll definitely be back next time! 😍🫶❤️"

"The hotel is a bit out of the city center, a 20-minute drive from the West High-Speed Railway Station. Aside from being close to the Yellow River Tower, there aren't many other attractions. My husband checked in alone, lugging two large suitcases, and there was no bellhop to assist him at the gate after we got off the train. The room was standard, business-style, with only one sink, which was a bit inconvenient. Dinner was in the executive lounge, where the menu was limited and every dish was spicy. The only meat dish was chicken wings, and there was no hot noodle station. Because my child had a slight fever, I asked if we could have a bowl of vegetable noodles. One of the waiters coldly said they only had simple fare, leaving me speechless. Later, a woman named Chen approached to check on the child and offered to cook a bowl of noodles from the buffet restaurant downstairs. This was truly commendable; they finally restored the service and standards expected of an international chain hotel. While we were dining, a hotel promotional video was being filmed nearby."

"I don't know why they call it a ”designer hotel” when they have such bad design. No place to hang towels in bathroom, the sink is so badly designed it leaked water all over, the light switches are silly and badly labeled. Also the smell is strange, they need more ventilation. The reception has a ”bar” but has no drinks? Also the location isn't good, cars can't pull up to door, and the ”old city” is a fake/new shopping street, very boring area. Have to take taxi to get downtown..."

"Had a room the view was too good. Overall the room is very clean and tidy, but lack of mini bar aminities. The layout is good and the space just nice not too big not too small. No international channels but i'm fine with it but the internet is wonderful, We enjoyed our stay. The shower had plenty of hot water and the bed was very comfortable. The AC did work properly. In fact, the temperature was friendly .The hotel is not on the main road, but is on a side street to the right. Can be seen from the sidewalk.
There are lots of local restaurants, fruit stands and street food near the hotel.
The staff are super friendly although not much English language skills. English/Chinese translation Apps were very helpful and a must."

The staff at the front desk were enthusiastic and professional during check-in, and very efficient. The hotel breakfast was also excellent, with beef noodles, desserts, various pastries, and appetizers – all made with fresh ingredients and delicious, catering to different tastes. The room was even more spacious and bright than pictured, spotlessly clean and tidy, with absolutely no strange odors. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the pillows were just the right height, allowing me to sleep soundly all night long, and all my fatigue instantly disappeared. The facilities are also excellent; the high-speed WiFi had stable signal throughout, and the bathroom's wet/dry separation was well-done. Hot water was supplied promptly and at a stable temperature, and the toiletries were complete and of good quality. 🦋🦋 What’s even more commendable are the service details. The cleaning staff were very attentive every day, tidying up items and proactively replenishing toiletries. Check-out was also efficient with no unnecessary complicated procedures. GGuest UserThis is a very nice hotel right on a pedestrian street lined with food stalls and restaurants. At night mobile food carts get rolled in and positioned along the center of the street adding yet more food choices! In addition to this, just a short walk away is a huge pedestrian shopping street along with an underground shopping complex accessed through street level escallators.
Although the hotel is on a pedestrian street it is really just about 3/4 block from a street with vehicle access. This hotel is a bit difficult to find though, because individual street address numbers are difficult to find. The best thing is to look for a huge Hanting Hotel logo on the right side of the pedestrian street as you head up from the traffic street along the river. The sign is blue with a white horse! The entrance to the hotel itself looks more as if you are entering a coffee shop because of the street entrance signage. But power past all the tables for people having coffee, and you can find the hotel front desk at the back.
As mentioned before, the hotel is quite close to the Yellow River and just a short walk to the ”Iron Bridge” (AKA Zhongshan Bridge) and all that neighborhood offers!
One drawback to the hotel is that to get into the entrance there are some narrow steps. Level entrances are always best!
Yet, I would definitely stay in this hotel again! (And when you are in Lanzhou, be sure to try Lanzhou Beef Noodles!)

GGuest UserNice hotel next to Tuanjie Xincun Metro Station Line 2, but not up to 5star level. We stayed for 3 nights, as I had prepaid. No English spoken either at the front desk or breakfast cafe. Room was on the 26th floor with a magnificent view looking South. Quiet room, smallish and with little hanging space and no safety box. Breakfast was Chinese and underwhelming. Nice indoor heated pool, but quite crowded with outsiders allowed to swim there. Fantastic gym with everything you could need and all to yourself. Probably stay here again for one night if the price was right. As a day trip, we went to Bingling Si. Take Metro to QiLiHe station on line 1. Walk east past KFC, take the 2nd pedestrian overpass, turn right then left after the touts near the public toilets. This is the Lanzhou West Bus Station. We caught the 9am bus for 23 yuan cash only and only available on the day. At the other end, organised a car for 4 people for 320 yuan. Last bus back at 5:30. It will leave earlier if full. Near QiLiHe station, great coffee place at 76 Jian Gong Xi Jie. Back from the bus station, past KFC, past Metro, left into Jian Gong Xi Jie. Try the 'dirty coffee '

DDayanjingdemeimiaolvyouzheI booked a room with three meals included, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations! I was in a hurry at lunchtime and missed the dining hall, but the hotel thoughtfully packed a meal box and delivered it directly to my room. I expected typical takeout quality, but the dishes were surprisingly delicious, with excellent color, aroma, and taste, completely changing my perception of hotel packed meals.
The dinner selection was incredibly rich. The fresh and savory tofu and egg soup, along with the chewy noodles, were particularly to my liking. The breakfast the next day was an even bigger surprise; the authentic beef noodles were full of flavor, and there was even a self-service mala tang station where you could cook your own, which is truly rare for a hotel breakfast – a definite highlight!
The hotel's amenities were also a big plus. The sofa was soft and comfortable, and the bed provided an excellent night's sleep. In particular, the shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom were very pleasant to use.
The above are the commendable aspects of the hotel. Below are what I perceive as shortcomings and issues, with the second point being the most prominent. Based on my actual stay, I would like to offer the following formal suggestions to the hotel general manager:
1. **Regarding optimizing dining session timings:**
I previously provided feedback to the front desk about the excessively short lunch and dinner durations. The front desk responded that, due to the hotel offering three meals and for internal workflow coordination, dining times needed to be compressed. Thus, both lunch and dinner are set for one hour (lunch 12:00-13:00, dinner 17:30-18:30). Based on my travel and accommodation experience across more than twenty provinces in China and five continents abroad, there are many four-star and five-star hotels that offer three meals. In such hotels, lunch service typically runs from 11:00-13:30 or 14:00, and dinner service from 18:00-21:00. None of these hotels shorten guests' dining duration simply because three meals are included. The hotel's current dining schedule makes it very difficult for guests who use the hotel as their first stop for a trip and need to visit attractions to return for meals on time after sightseeing, greatly impacting their experience. I suggest the hotel refer to industry standard service practices and consider guests' actual travel needs, either by appropriately extending lunch and dinner service times or by flexibly adjusting them to better meet the diverse needs of different guest segments.
2. **Regarding standardizing meal clearing procedures:**
During the self-service dinner, the hotel had issues with non-standardized meal clearing procedures. Firstly, before clearing, there was no advance notification to guests present, nor was there an inquiry about whether they needed a final round of food, which is expected of a four-star hotel. Secondly, with only one minute left until the scheduled clearing time, staff hastily began clearing tables and removing dishes, leading to a somewhat chaotic scene. Thirdly, some service staff were observed directly taking food from the buffet with their bare hands and scrambling for leftover dishes in the serving area. This behavior severely violates the service etiquette standards of a four-star hotel and significantly harms the hotel's brand image. I recommend that the hotel strengthen professional etiquette training for its service staff, clarify the meal clearing procedures and standards, require staff to notify guests in advance before clearing, and only begin clearing systematically after guests have finished their meals. Simultaneously, it is crucial to regulate employee conduct during duty to prevent such incidents from recurring.
3. **Regarding enhancing breakfast food quality control:**
The bread and pastry section at breakfast had noticeable issues with taste and texture. The toast was dense and dry, hard as a rock, and other pastries also tended to be dry. This is likely due to ambient temperature and storage methods. I checked out at 11 AM, and that same afternoon, while I was still on my way home and hadn't even rested, I received a call from hotel staff at 5 PM, pressuring me to write a positive review. This practice easily causes guests to feel rushed and bothered. I suggest the hotel cease this unreasonable behavior. Writing a review is not an obligation for guests. If the purpose is service improvement, most guests would accept a formal call, not one solely aimed at soliciting positive reviews. The above are my formal suggestions.

6631007****Booked this room for a friend, and they absolutely loved it! They mentioned the room facilities were excellent and the environment was fantastic. Definitely great value for money. The front desk staff were also very welcoming and even helped with their luggage. I'd definitely recommend this place to everyone! Plus, its close proximity to the train station is super convenient.

PPietroThe hotel in not the Mercure hotel and is abusing the name in the English version of the posting in Trip.com.
There is no sign on the hotel shovin the Mercure name which makes difficult to identify it, also because the entrance is definitely nothing like a Mercure hotel would show.
A couple of block down the street there is a hotel with big Mercure sign. I can guess this one got in trouble and now nowhere shows the brand name apart than in the catchy post on Trip, and the reception denies that they are the Mercure.
Apart of that the place is a chimney only suitable for heavy smokers and smoke preservation.
I had to go through a number of rooms to get one where I could try to breath without choking.
It is obvious that any smoke detection system is permanently disabled and therefore the place is at extremely high risk of fire.
Apart of this the place is underpriced for a legitimate Mercure hotel, but largely overpriced for the nearly 2 stars place they are.
Despite the troubles, the personnel did their best to maintain a good level of service and tried their best to accommodate, including offering free cancellation.

GGuest UserThe hotel is right next to the pedestrian street of the West Station. It's on the upper floor of Lanzhou Center. It's very convenient. You can walk out of the subway station and go shopping and eating at night.
The environment is very good. The bathroom ventilation is also silent, with independent central air conditioning. It's perfect.
The exquisite king-size bed room we booked was not cleaned when we arrived. The beautiful lady named Kaka helped us upgrade directly, and her service attitude was super good. She took me to see the room. Thank you very much.

AAnonymous UserLove the room design and grateful for the free treats. The location is around 10mins walk to the lanzhou west train station, however during my stay there, part of the road was under construction, so it wasn't the most easiest to get around especially when the round overhead bridge only had stairs. Nearby there are lots of malls and place to eat. For the room itself, despite the cosy ambience, it rirks of smoke smell especially on my first day. At night, it's even worst as the air filter started leaking more cigarettes stench into my room. There is also no hairdryer provided. And what happened to the mountain view room I was supposed to have? The view outside is just the road and some dirty cityscapes. I was so looking forward to that 🫤. I was also locked out of my room after the first night, and luckily one of the cleaner helped me unlock my room and save me from making another trip down to the receptionist. Overall I will still recommend a stay.
