"Me and my daughter had a lovely stay. We slept very well, the bed were very comfortable and pillows and the room was lovely and clean and had everything in there we needed. We were both very happy.  Swimming pool was lovely just needs modernising and floors cleaned as were dirty. However, over all very pleased and love to stay again."

"The hotel has a beautiful environment, the room is very clean and comfortable for two nights, and the restaurant is delicious. Surrounded by kindergartens, supermarkets, close to the University of Essex. Surrounded by national forest parks, cute animals can be seen walking"

"The hotel building is unique, the hotel breakfast is good and the dinner is good. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, the service is very good. The hotel has two parts, the old building and the new building. The old building faces the street. There are sounds from nearby trains and motor vehicles. If you are afraid of noisy, it is recommended to live in a new building."

"First thing I noticed was the excellent friendly service at the front counter. This service continued at breakfast the next morning, which was very nice - it was a menu-style breakfast where you order a breakfast you would like. Breakfast with salmon had a small supplement. The room was mostly okay, although there were some stains on the bedsheet. Inclusion of earplugs was a nice touch as it is on the main road - I happen to like the city noise, but ended up using them to block out the noise of the fan (there is no air conditioning). The bathroom had nice toiletries although we noticed that the cold tap ran hot for quite a while before it got cold. Overall the stay was fine, but with lots of hotels available in Colchester it wouldn’t be my first pick to return."
