My two friends and I selected this place to stay during our time in Kyoto. When we arrived before the check-in time, the staff let us store our bags which let us explore Kyoto more prior to check-in. Check-in itself was smooth with particular highlights to the friendly staff whose service was impeccable throughout our stay. We stayed in a Mingei-styled room which was lovely and suited our purposes as we wanted to sleep on a tatami-floor like in other traditional ryokans. The room came with the usual amenities and yukata for each of us that we could wear in the ryokan. While we did not try the breakfast option (as it required additional payment and our own onsen required us to go out often), it is a useful addition for others who want to try. The ryokan bath itself is available for use though requires an early reservation (starting from 3 pm onwards) and requires an additional payment of 500 yen per person. While it is not as large as an actual onsen bath in larger ryokans, it works for the budget experience. Location-wise, the street was quiet so sleep was not an issue and it was near to various shops and restaurants. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and I personally would gladly stay here again if I ever return to Kyoto.

I loved this hotel so much. Very affordable but amenities are the best. It is less than few minutes from Kyoto station (Hachijo exit not central exit) Entrance has relaxed resort atmosphere like you're in Hawaii. They have 2 buildings. They both have free coffee and drinks. One of their buildings has massage chairs which I used every night and community bath. You're allowed to walk around in Yukata (bathrobes) and slippers at this hotel so don't be surprised if you see many guests wearing them in public. Breakfast was excellent good selection of western and Asian food. Actually, it was more like branch I didn't have to eat until dinner, and it was perfect because you're busy all day with places to see. I would recommend going before 9am. Room is small if you're from the U.S but spotless and functional. If you at Kyoto station (Hachijo exit) cross the street If you see Ibis hotel, you're at the right place. 7 Eleven is right next to the hotel. Many restaurants and main bus stops are on the other side of Kyoto station (central exit) which is few minutes from this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

This is the first time me and my wife stayed in a Ryokan. Yuzuya Ryokan is a small traditional Japanese hotel next door to the Yasaka Jinja Honden Temple. The Ryokan is about 20 minute drive from the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo. Once we arrived the host welcomed us and took our luggage up the long rocky staircase. Our room was very private, they provided kimonos fir us to wear at the hotel. They encouraged us to wear our kimonos to breakfast and dinner. Our stay included breakfast and dinner which were both amazing traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner. Our room was also a traditional Japanese room with tatami mats. The room had no real bed. At night they would set up cushions on the tatami mats which were surprisingly very comfortable. The hotel also had a beautiful garden in the middle of it. They also had a his and hers hot bath/tub on the first floor. I highly recommend everyone to experience a Ryokan.

It’s rare to see and enjoy a property more beautiful than what it promises to be online but it was the case. The only downside is you have to checkin in a separate place 5 minutes away and open only during day business hours (6 pm max). Basically it’s a two floor house carefully and beautifully arranged in traditional ryokan style with excellent amenities including a very small but lovely garden and a symbolic stone path separating the bathroom from the living room on the ground floor. The 2 bedrooms are upstairs 1 Western style the other Japanese style. Everything is cased in rustic dark unvarnished Japanese wood

Sowaka, Kyoto, consists of a new building and an old building. The old building does not accept children under 12 years old, but the new building does. The old hotel has a history of 110 years. After the renovation, it is really modern. The original well is retained and the stove is in the reception area. It feels great. The hotel overall is very good and the service is also very good. I will choose it again next time I come.

Hotel Material was a great value stop in our tour of Japan. We stayed for 2 nights as a family of four and it provided everything we needed. The bunks were large and ample for even adults. The sunken king bed was unusual, but easily the largest bed I slept in in Japan and well worth the investment. The shower was also excellent with both great water pressure and was tall enough to accommodate me at 6ft without sitting, a first for me here. The room was clean and well presented and even came with some games to occupy the kids. The staff weee helpful and happy to look after our bags before check in. The hotel also has a lovely roof terrace available which we weren’t expecting.

The place that left my first trip to Kyoto as a happy memory until the end I will bring good memories with me whenever I remember Kyoto. The well-organized and tidy feeling makes you comfortable from entering the hotel to leaving. It blends Japan's past and present well, giving it a unique and sophisticated feel. Hinoki bathtub and plenty of warm water It relieved the regret of a ryokan that I had not experienced on this trip. It is recommended that you try the breakfast you ate every morning. The menu, which used to be Korean food, was changed to a buffet format. The food is unusual and unique. I'm very satisfied ^^ I'm going back after getting along well with the warm consideration and help of all the staff. This time, I stayed at Superior Double (Smoking): with a balcony (19 ㎡). The first impression was that the size of the TV was a little small. The room is just the right size. I am grateful to smokers that I can smoke. Points I was curious about: 〇 I want a USB port and an outlet on the bedside switch panel. 〇 There is no USB port installed in the room itself, so don't forget to charge the tap. 〇 The air conditioning and ventilation environment are a little weak, so you may be a little worried in the summer. I liked it: 〇 Thank you for the service such as smoking room, large communal bath, and welcome drink. ※ Especially the micro bubble bath in the large communal bath was unusual and very good. 〇 Breakfast is mainly bread and has a wide variety. 〇 It was very quiet because it was a little far from Kyoto Station. 〇 Location is right from subway station (Jujo Station) and bus stop (Oishibashi).

Facilities: Everything is available and exquisite. It was winter when I went there, and the floor heating was so comfortable. Wooden bathtub, toilet and shower separated. Environment: The location is relatively remote and low-key, and you can't find it without looking carefully. It doesn't look like a hotel of this price range from the outside. Hygiene: Japan's hygiene is really poor, I don't know how to clean it up. Whether it's a hotel, a restaurant, or on the street, it's really clean. Summary: The hotel is quite good, with average facilities. It is really expensive compared to more than 5,000 RMB/night. If you are an ordinary office worker like me, I suggest you choose carefully, as you may be disappointed. If you are brothers and sisters who are not short of money, you might as well give it a try.
