"The room was very cozy, the toiletries and furnishings were very tasteful, the meals were satisfying, the boss was very nice, and provided various services and information attentively, allowing us to experience the most wonderful trip in Yubeng Village. The most amazing thing was to see the golden mountain in the morning when I opened the curtains, which was unforgettable. The horse rental master that the boss helped to contact was very enthusiastic, and he accompanied us all the way and talked and laughed. We must come again."
"🏡 Cizhong is a small village that is quiet and easy to be ignored by travelers. However, this is a legend on the banks of the Lancang River. Chinese and Western cultures and different religions collide and merge here, and finally be brewed into a mellow wine with time.
💕 Songzanz Zhongshan Ju - two two-story Tibetan stone and wooden structure small buildings are surrounded by mountains and waters, leaning on the white tower and the master statue of Lotus Peanuts at the head of the village, looking at the Lancang River Canyon and Cizhong Catholic Church from afar. The interior design of the mountain house integrates the characteristics of China and the West: both the implicit and simple Oriental beauty, but also show the traces of the old-fashioned European aesthetic.
📸 The most attractive ones are old photos that hang in corners and fall from the National Geographic headquarters in the United States, and these silver, salt, black and white photos truthfully record life on this land a hundred years ago.
🍚 Three meals a day and afternoon tea are extremely exquisite. A small vegetable garden is opened next to the hotel, and a variety of vegetables are dazzling; rose honey grapes are also planted, row after row, small and cute.
👍🏻 During the stay, there were mainly two sisters in charge of all ours (no name asked, a little regret), be sure to praise! They always smile and treat people with enthusiasm, absolutely 100% service. The supervisor sister also promised to help send postcards, great!"
"The first stop of this trip was to stay at Songtsam Green Valley, the first hotel of Mr. Baima, the founder of Songtsam. Then we went to Songtsam Meili Mountain Residence, which had a superb cloud-top experience. After going down the mountain, we continued to stay at the third Songtsam Hotel of this trip, Songtsam Benzilan, which had a fresh countryside feel. The three hotels have their own characteristics, and the services and facilities are equally great. They are quiet, private, and have excellent scenery and location!"

"This manor B&B is worthy of its name. The yard is huge, and all kinds of fruit trees are full of fruits. The key is that you can pick whatever you want to eat [grin]. There are streams in the manor and wooden boardwalks on the lake, which are perfect for tea tasting and daydreaming [strong]. The boss and his wife are very simple and enthusiastic [fist hug]. The Tibetan-style rooms are well-equipped and the Tibetan-style log decoration is unique [strong]. Next time I have time, I must stay a few more days to enjoy the tranquility and comfort [strong] Highly recommended!"
"The homestay is located in Yubeng, close to the entrance of the village. It takes a few minutes to walk from the pickup truck. When we checked in, we were very intimate to upgrade to the room on the second floor. The large balcony at the entrance of the room is facing the Shenv Peak of Meili Snow Mountain. Sitting on the large balcony is very comfortable and comfortable, the room is large in size. There is oxygen and heating, the bedding is comfortable, clean and hygienic, the bathroom is also hot water, and the whole person is relaxed after taking a hot bath on foot. All the service staff in the store have a good attitude and are responsive. We also give two more bottles of water every day to take us to hike, especially to help wash the clothes and get the rooftop to dry the next day. It is super intimate and intimate. Thank you for the hospitality and care of the store for a few days. Although breakfast is not included, the rice noodles in the store are delicious, the dishes for dinner are also very good, the taste and price are moderate, the Mid-Autumn Festival day also killed a pot of local chicken according to our requirements for the festival, and prepared a lot of delicious snacks and fruits in the evening with the in-store guests. The festival, let us have a different Mid-Autumn Festival, is an ideal holiday resort."
"I have to give this hotel a good review. I just came out of Yubeng and came across such a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. The room is very big. The hotel is new. Everything is very new. The TV didn’t even have to remove the plastic film. The air conditioner is powerful. The boss is also very considerate. There is a small courtyard that is very unique. Overall, I am very satisfied. The only inconvenient thing is that you have to go up a flight of stairs. If you have a suitcase, you can call the boss to carry it! !"
"The service was very good. As soon as we entered the store, a lady poured us ginger tea. The floor heating in the room was very warm, even a little hot, so the temperature had to be lowered. It was about a few minutes' walk from Feilai Temple. Because it was Spring Festival when we left the store, the lady also gave us a small red envelope"
"This hotel is both comfortable and surprising for this trip to Shangri-La.
1. All the hotel staff are very meticulous and enthusiastic. Not only did they upgrade the room for free, but when there were guests checking in at 1:30 a.m. and it was noisy, the staff gave a perfect solution the next day.
2. The price of the hotel is proportional to the scenery. If the budget is sufficient, I personally think it is a very good choice for the Wunongding Scenic Area.
3. The breakfast and dinner of the hotel are very good, which is a bit unexpected. In this area, I personally think the price is also reasonable.
4. Most importantly, the room is clean and comfortable, and the supporting soft and hard facilities are very sufficient. The hotel will provide the daily necessities needed, including oxygen and humidifiers.
Finally, thank the staff of Jianglu for providing us with a great trip to Meili Snow Mountain. Although we did not see the perfect Rizhao Jinshan, we will choose Jianglu next time."
"The newly opened part is still being improved. There are 2 oxygen generators and 1 humidifier, facing the snow-capped mountains. The room is large with a stereo, a large bed, a dry and wet separation in the bathroom, disposable towels, and the hair dryer is not strong enough. The hotel includes breakfast, and you can dine in the restaurant on the first floor at noon, lunch, and dinner. There are not many dining options on the Meili Snow Mountain. At 6 o'clock in the morning, the boss called us to get up and see the Rizhao Jinshan. We were lucky to encounter the Rizhao Jinshan in the rainy season. I still recommend this hotel next time I come."
"Service: Fairly enthusiastic, will contact in advance.
Environment: The hotel is newly renovated and the whole looks very stylish. Cost-effective. But at night and in the morning, because there will be some noise in the street, the whole room has a door and a window at the door, but there is a fresh air system. Half-return design, the door is the bed, I don't know why not put the bed inside, put the sofa outside.
Facilities: The style is more modern but the details are not good. For example, the door of the shower room is opened outward. The shower room is the toilet. Then the blanket is not very good after the shower. Personal use feels that the door of the shower room will be very human if it is designed to be pushed inside. Open the door and you can flatten the foot pad. There is no place to put clothes or bath towels near the bathroom. You can put the toilet lid on the toilet. The empty wall can be used. The weather in July was a bit cold after taking a shower at Feilai Temple. It was said that there was water heating but the room temperature was about 1. There was no problem with the temperature. After taking a shower, you had to slip and put on a bath towel. You have to quickly find the foot pad in the distance.
There is also a strange phenomenon. I automatically turn on the full light and open the curtains twice in the middle of the night. What the hell, I chose the automatic shutdown of the sleep light before going to bed, which caused me to wake up twice."

Perfect
GGuest UserThe room is very very very good, my friend and I both like it very much. The furnishings in the room are very attentive, equipped with mountain spring water from the plateau, bottled mineral water and glucose water, which shows that it is very attentive. The view on the roof is first-class, facing the Meili Thirteen Peaks. There are several public areas, which are also very good.
The boss and staff are also very kind, just like returning home
GGuest UserWhat can I say, Yeyu has simply got to be hands down, the best place that I have stayed in during my entire Yunnan trip. I am amazed and wasn't expecting it to be this great. I know the idea of staying in a luxury hotel doesn't seem to be something that goes hand in hand with hiking (I say this from my experience of having hiked in several other places before where the key highlight is the natural setting itself), but I have to say that it was really soothing for the soul. My girlfriend and I loved this place! The hotel is tastefully designed at every corner and angle and we can appreciate that a lot of creativity and thought was put into designing this place. The aesthetics is very pleasing to the eye and embraces the natural scenery really well. We also loved the homage it pays to the area's ******* roots such as the photographs displayed in the room (young ******* monks playing and the ******* gazelles in the bathroom) and also all the books about Tibet, Yunnan province that is in the library and living room space. The service provided by the staff was top notch, very attentive and caring. We were always asked if there's anything that the staff can do for us be it preparing a plate of fresh fruits, preparing some drinks for us when we were lounging at the living area and another completely unexpected one was when we returned from the Sacred Waterfall hike with our shoes filled with mud, the hotel staff kindly asked us to leave our shoes with him and it came back the next day fully cleaned, placed in front of our rooms. The lovely service provided was just simply amazing and for this, I would like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to all of the lovely staff at Yeyu who provided us with such a beautiful memory of our too brief stay here and thank you so much for the room upgrade. If I could organise this trip again, I would have liked to stay here much longer to be able to relax and enjoy the beauty of this place. Please believe me when I say that it is completely worth every yuan.
PS: Please note that there are two Yeyu Hotels in Yubeng, one near the pond and the other near the temple. We stayed at the one near the temple. Both of them are beautiful in their distinctive ways.
SSYNSThe hotel's design is very aesthetic, the decoration style is unique, and there are many details in the room that are well done. There are many public spaces and beautiful scenery everywhere. It's just that the interior is a little cramped sometimes.
The service was great, the response was very fast and we were upgraded.
Every breakfast is so exquisite and tastes very good.
The travel photography package also gave us a discount, and it was really worth it to leave beautiful memories with my family in such a beautiful environment.
GGlobetrotter & HikerWe highly recommend staying in Yolo Guesthouse if you are staying overnight at Upper Yubeng Village. The owner and staff of the guesthouse was very friendly, helpful and informative throughout our stay.
We connected through WeChat prior to arrival and liaised with the guesthouse for transport from Lower Yubeng to upper Yubeng. The transport was included in the reservation. On arrival in the afternoon, the staff introduced and escorted us to a nearby restaurant for lunch even though it was drizzling.
The guesthouse is strategically located to have views of the valley downstream and upstream. The building structure is sturdy and well designed compared to many other accommodations in the villages. The interior of the room and the rooftop coffee bar is beautifully designed and clean. They also have Dyson hairdryer and Smeg electric kettle. Coffee at the rooftop bar was decent but it was accompanied by amazing views of the valley. We were the only ones at the rooftop bar after check in and we also had their in-house hotpot at night which we enjoyed.
Prior to departing for our day hike (Glacier lake from Upper Yubeng Village) the next day, the guesthouse even provided hiking poles, crampons, bottled water, Red Bull canned drinks and a homely ham and egg sandwich. We were also allowed to leave our bags stored with them as we had to check out in the late afternoon after returning from the hike. After checkout, the guesthouse also helped to call a vehicle to transport us down to lower Yubeng village.
We wished we had stayed here longer throughout our trip to Yubeng. We felt very welcomed and had a memorable stay. Thank you so much!
CClaudiaVERY DISAPPOINTING!
Overall: The inn is nice and confortable but the service is terrible. Service made us feel very unwelcome and ruined the experience.
Room: humble but comfortable room. You can ask for a heater, which is very needed in the winter months (we stayed here in late November). Be aware that some rooms are marked as “Mountain View” but in fact you’re in a covered area so won’t really have a view (pictures attached) - we booked one of these rooms but since it was low season we were lucky to get a free upgrade and get one of the few rooms with a nice view.
Cleanliness: the rooms are relatively clean, but we had a mouldy shower curtain (see pictures).
Amenities: the restaurant / front desk area is very nice and cosy.
Service: terrible! Every time we needed their assistance it felt as if we were disturbing them from sitting by the fire (even though they barely had any customers and it seemed as if they were not busy at all). We are international traveler’s that don’t speak Chinese and the service was unhelpful and not welcoming. We’ve had no issues anywhere else in our trip in China, this was definitely the worst we have experienced. After reading other reviews it seems that the boss is very helpful, but he wasn’t there when we stayed at the inn and it appears that the workers don’t do a good job when he is not around. The workers didn’t advise us that we needed crampons for one of the hikes we did (hikers from other inns told us that these were a must) so we had to reluctantly stay one more night to complete the hike.
When we booked another night, one service member told us a price and another service person told us a different (lower, almost 100cny lower) price. We were then charged the first (higher) price, which made us feel quite uncomfortable. The day after when we tried to rent crampons from the inn the lady told us that it was 20 cny to rent per day, and that in other places it was 40 cny per day. We decided not to rent them because they looked in very bad condition. We later found out that you can buy them brand new at “meets meili snow mountain” for 35cny and use them for the 2 hikes. We also had to rent hiking poles even though they provide them for free at the hotel given that the ones they had didn’t look in good condition and weren’t tall enough for us (the lady at the desk got frustrated with us because of this).
Overall, very unhelpful, impatient service - we felt extremely uncomfortable because of it. If you’re an international traveller and don’t speak much Chinese stay away!!
Food: was good but small portions compared to other places. We ended up eating most of our meals elsewhere because the service made us feel very unwelcome. Limited breakfast options, there’s many more options at “meets meili snow mountain”.
LLamNancyIt started off not too well. Our driver took us to a wrong hotel, a hotel which was grander, more beautiful and it faces the Meili Mountain! We were so disappointed when we found out that that was not the hotel we booked.
Even though Deqin Zangshan Yunju Hotel is not facing the Meili Mountain, it does provide shuttle to the viewing platform. The lady driver was waiting for us to take us there before the sunrise. It was a good thing too, our own guide and driver failed to show up to take us there!!!! When one can only see the sunrise on Meili for 67 days out of 365 days a year, it came as no surprise that we did not see the sunrise due to cloud cover. All is not lost though since this hotel faces the Baima Mountain and we did catch a beautiful sunrise from the hotel. The 4th floor rooftop is perfect for that. We had the 270 degree room which offers a fantastic view, but the windows were not cleaned as well, so taking photos from the room was not as good.
The breakfast was adequate. It would be nice if they could prepare a bit more. I am sure if I asked, they would make more for me though.
No regrets staying at this great hotel. The hotel is located close to the Fellei temple.
JjshanghaiWe stayed at the Wake Up Mountain Hotel in June 2024 for a week. The Hotel is wonderful. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are excellent, and the view from the windows of the mountains is fantastic. The Hotel also has a viewing area (and a bar) on the roof, providing the best sunrise view of the entire region's mountains. The restaurant has a great menu and excellent food; it is the best restaurant in the area. Finally, the staff Wenwen and others are wonderful, friendly and helpful. They arranged car and driver tours for us to travel around the area and addressed our requests. Excellent stay. They are highly recommended. Ken and Jacqueline
LLondonChrisCould not eat the breakfast. It was totally western - dairy products, fried egg and meat. Very bright lights all night outside. Adjacent to main road, but not very busy. English name written very small, Chinese name is 梅里往事 Pinyin name is meili wangshi. Room nice and warm, balcony, great view, but better from a couple of hotels further down the road. Binoculars in the room was a very nice touch. Directly opposite the focal point of the town (viewing platform and area where the bus terminates).
RRosa09As one of the rare solo travelers to Meilin, our check-in process took a little longer than usual since the staff wasn’t entirely familiar with handling overseas guests (They probably wasn't used to seeing non-locals HAHA). That said, they were extremely accommodating—they kindly invited us to rest in our room first and even enthusiastically helped carry our (very heavy) luggage upstairs. Despite our late arrival around 10 PM, the staff patiently waited for us and assisted in unloading our bags from the car, which we greatly appreciated.
The hotel itself was clean and cozy. Our room was spacious and well-heated, including a warm bathroom that was a real comfort in the chilly weather. Water pressure and hot water was good. While our booking was for three people, the room was initially stocked with toiletries for two—but this was quickly resolved with a simple call to the front desk.
A standout feature was the smart AI assistant (Xiao Du) in the room, which was perfect for those who enjoy convenience—controlling lights and music hands-free was a nice touch. Location-wise, the hotel is well-situated, just a short 15-minute walk to Feilai Temple. The photos on Trip were accurate, and while there wasn't a strong mountain view from our room, it didn’t detract from the overall pleasant experience.
Overall, the hotel offered great service, comfort, and convenience, making it a solid choice for anyone visiting the area.
GGuest UserYourland Hotel is run and operated by a very hard working lady who essentially does everything herself - from welcoming guests, cooking breakfast, cleaning the rooms and washing the bed sheets & laundry. The rooms are very clean and neatly organised, it has all the comforts that any hiker should need in such a remote location that is high up in the mountains (e.g. electric blankets, warm showers, etc.) Please do note that the warm water does need sometime to reheat especially if another guest takes a shower right away after the first guest. It will not be sufficient time for the water heating machine to heat the water. You should take note of the number that is displayed on the water heater. By default in our room, it showed the number of 44 and after the first guest took the shower, it went down to 19. If someone takes a shower right away at that moment, it will be cold so the next person should wait a bit until the number displayed moves up.
The views in the morning are amazing as you can see the mountain ranges on three different sides so you get a very good panoramic view from the terrace of the hotel. After a long day of hiking, our moods were lightened up when we were welcomed by the friendly and playful Labrador Retriever whose name is Dou Dou. Such a lovely dog <3. I would recommend you to stay here if you are looking for a place to stay in Upper Yubeng, it's good base for your planned hikes to the Glacier Lake and Nise Ranch. The place might be a bit difficult to locate if you arrive in Yubeng late at night (like we did since we walked all the way from Ninong, which was really tiring), but once you get the gist of it, it's very easy to remember and locate.
