"We got the panoramic room on the 4th floor, and the view is really nice, but FYI, the bottom half of the view is the building across the street, which isn't that pretty. During the time we went, in late March, it was really cold - they did turn on the heating, which was nice, and the bed did have heaters, and they gave extra blankets - but the floor was really cold, which is understandable. Unfortunately, when we went, we were unable to see the Snow Mountain Meili as it was cloudy in the evening and snowing really hard in the morning. They have a rooftop deck from which you can look out and see the mountain, which is nice so you don't have to go down to the observation platform down the street to see the sunrise."

"The owner upgraded us to a huge suite, which totally blew us away when we walked in. It had a tea table, sofa, large TV, oxygen concentrator, humidifier, smart toilet, floor heating, and an electric blanket. The whole suite was super new and clean, like a newly opened place, and it felt on par with a four or five-star hotel. The mattress was incredibly soft and comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious, and the hot water came on instantly, even showing the current temperature, which was a thoughtful touch. The owner mentioned they hired a five-star hotel designer for it, and showering there felt luxurious. The owner was exceptionally kind, enthusiastic, and great at hospitality. They arranged pick-up and drop-off for check-in, check-out, and even for watching the 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' phenomenon. When I asked about the 'Silver Mountain in the Moonlight', he even offered to have someone drive us there around 11 PM and pick us up again, which was incredibly accommodating.
There's a restaurant next to the hotel lobby where guests get a 20% discount. We ordered a yak rib hotpot for two, and you could tell the meat quality was excellent – very flavorful, especially with the chili powder! The hotel's location is also great, less than a ten-minute walk from the Feilai Temple viewing platform. While the view from our window wasn't of snow-capped mountains, it was a beautiful mountain landscape, and I found it stunning. Pulling back the curtains and seeing it put me in a wonderful mood. The entire suite had many windows, making it very bright and airy. We originally booked for two nights, but our plans changed to just one, and it pained me to think we'd only get one night in such a comfortable hotel 😭.
Seriously, I loved it so much; it felt like every detail was perfect. I will definitely recommend it to friends!"

"We requested an extra blanket but were refused, with the explanation that they had already supplied what was necessary. This was despite the hotel not being fully booked and having plenty of availability. They also incorrectly claimed it was against policy for three of us to stay in one room, even though we had actually booked two rooms (one with twin beds, one with a king). The room lighting was so poor that I had to use my phone's flashlight just to operate the kettle. Around 7 AM, I tried calling the front desk multiple times to inquire about the weather and whether we'd be able to see the 'Rizhao Jinshan' (Golden Mountain at sunrise), but no one picked up. What truly baffled me was the bizarre business philosophy proudly displayed at the front desk. The very next day, I received truly exceptional service at a different establishment. This was by far the most disappointing hotel experience during my entire 6-day stay in Shangri-La."

Car park: Super easy to park your car as they have a spacious car park space across the street.
Cleanness: Room is very new and clean. They prepared disposable towel and bathtub cover as well. Super considerate.
Service: very friendly and thoughtful staff.
Common area is spacious and thoughtfully designed too.
Last but not least, their heating and water pressure is super good which is very important at such cold and high altitude location."

During my stay, we experienced unstable voltage, but the hotel's handling of the situation was exemplary! From the speed of response and efficiency in resolving the issue to the sincere communication, everything was impeccable. Minor imperfections in the facilities are inevitable, but such attentive and considerate service is rare. Kudos to their professionalism and sincerity! (The unstable voltage caused elevator malfunctions, and the staff proactively helped everyone in each room with their luggage.)"

Both the room and the rooftop cafe offered fantastic views, and my friends were all very happy with it. The breakfast and the small cakes were delicious too. Hua Zong specially arranged a special car to welcome us to the store, and carefully prepared breakfast, road meals and dinner, which were convenient and delicious. He also prepared hiking poles, crampons, etc., which came in handy when hiking on the ice lake line👍👍

GGuest UserI booked this hotel without knowing that it is known for and it was a good surprise from almost every perspective of my experience. The staff in Sunyata are very friendly, well presented and treated us with their trained professionalism as well as friendliness. Both the hotel and room interior are designed thoughtfully and by later reading the magazine that was left in the room I realised that it was meant to be a masterpiece which I think is what has been achieved with no efforts spared. The top floor enjoying a 270 degree unobstructed view of the snow mountains obviously is the cherry on the top of the cake, and it absolutely delivered and truly made the stay in the hotel one of the most unforgettable experience in Meili. The amenities are nicely provided in good quality, and the beddings feel comfortable and clean. The food we had in the attached restaurant was delicious and the interior is also a masterpiece 24 hours in a day. The only shortcoming that I can say about my experience is that the food in the self served area for the breakfast became empty with still about one hour to go, and staff seemed unbothered or even intended to do so. Overall it is a beautiful boutique hotel which was beautifully designed and operated with a high standard. I would like to revisit if I can.

You can see the famous 'Golden Mountain of Meili Snow Mountain' right from the rooftop, which is a fantastic sight, especially in winter when the probability of seeing it is very high! It's about a 1.5-hour car ride from Shangri-La to Feilai Temple Guesthouse. After getting off in Feilai Temple, it's at least a 15-minute walk to the guesthouse, as I tend to walk slower at high altitudes. The staff here are very welcoming; they even gave me a small gift at check-out. They also offer sweet soup in an insulated container in the evenings. The guesthouse has an elevator, which is a plus. While the breakfast selection isn't huge, it's well-balanced with both Chinese and Western options. The rooms are equipped with oxygen machines, which is really thoughtful for first-time visitors to high-altitude areas.

GGuest UserThe hotel's hardware, design, and the taste of the art installations are all top-tier, easily comparable to luxury hotels in Japan and definitely among the best in Asia.
The management team, especially the managers, showed high emotional intelligence and thoughtfulness towards guests. For example, they advised me against ordering too much since I was dining alone, but then generously offered a small portion of the yak hotpot I wanted to try. They work incredibly hard and are very busy.
Perhaps it's difficult to recruit staff at this location, as it felt like there weren't enough team members, and their enthusiasm wasn't fully mobilized yet. The service team's managers really bear a heavy burden.
The hotel's afternoon tea was exquisite, and the tea cakes provided in the room were absolutely superb (as a tea lover, I was thoroughly impressed).

You can photograph the 'sunlit golden mountains' directly from the large fifth-floor terrace, without needing to go to crowded observation decks. The rooms are clean and tidy, with oxygen supply and floor heating. The front desk staff (both the ladies and gentlemen) had an excellent service attitude. It's truly heartwarming that the hotel even offers breakfast at an altitude of over 3,000 meters on the plateau.

AAnonymous UserThe view in the room is spectacular. You can see the view of the snow mountain and lush green mountains while taking a bath or in bed. It was the most wonderful stay for us.
The room also came with all the amenities needed, equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and a Smeg kettle, which seems very suitable for the price.
They also provide a free laundry service, which they will deliver clean clothes by your door in the morning. Beverages including water, soft drinks, coffee and tea are all included and can be provided as much as you need. They also prepared us sandwiches for us to take for our day hike.
The young lady at the front desk, who is also a barista, took very good care of us. She is always active on Wechat for any requests we may have. She also kindly helped us to arrange a van to pick us up from Ninong to Feilaisi.
Definitely a rewarding stay after long hikes!

You can see the golden mountain in the sun from the room, especially the terrace on the third floor which is particularly photogenic against the backdrop of the Meili Snow Mountain. AAnonymous UserThey say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise.
Let's talk about the downsides:
1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road.
2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though.
3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

One of the most stunning views from a hotel ever.
Doodoo the dog is the sweetest and felt like a home stay, super quiet and calm! Comfy beds with electric blanket and clean room.
Cons:
The shared toilets,sink shower are outside, which is not ideal in cold November.
First day the woman working was so helpful and accommodating, helped me wash clothes, made food and answered questions. The second day was a different woman, who would not use a translation app to answer questions which made things difficult. Would not make a hot drink in the cafe for me and wouldn’t explain why and wasn’t much help on transport questions because she wouldn’t translate her answers. Unfortunately it stands out because 99% of people in china help you! I went to a different cafe down the road where people were immediately so helpful.
