"Booked a total of 5 rooms all under my name. 3 rooms are checking in early which is not together with me, is not allowed to check in even though it has a confirmed booking number. According to the staff, this is the hotel 's policy until they can receive verbal confirmation from the listed booking person. The location is excellent for a short stay or transfer as the hotel is just minutes away from the airport. Rooms are spacious and clean. Nearby can find fast food like McD, KFC and subway. Lone Star restaurant and bar just next to Woolworth supermarket."
"Lovely hotel! very convenient and close to the city! we stayed in 2-bedroom connecting apartment for just 2 of us, so comfortable as it was spacious and the bathroom has a washing machine & dryer which works so well for our laundry!
Lovely kind staff & hotel manager to, allowing us to be able check in early at 11am due to our early flight landing! Of course after earlier notification so that the hotel can get the room ready! Thank you for the hospitality & will be back here for sure if i return visiting NZ again!"
"Location is excellent.
Service needs to improve
1. Standard hotel will provide a box/pack of tissue for the guest - I need to request for it
2. In NZ, provide hot chocolate is quite standard, I requested 1st time not done, 2nd time I wrote a note on the desk and ONLY ONE packet of chocolate provided
3. The toilet is so small, for big people will be problem. There was a light non stop blinking, till now no answer and don't know the reason
4. No cupboard for clothes and the only fixed hanger on the wall and right above the table and next to the kettle which you will not able to hang your jacket or jeans properly. I requested for hanger in order to hand my clothes outside the bathroom bar."
"The location was excellent, just a ten-minute walk from Morry Creek. The only minor hiccup was that the motel's email had the wrong room number, so it took us a few minutes to find our room. Our suite was very spacious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The room was well-equipped with an electric heater and electric blankets. We also tried New Zealand's 'national dish' – the chicken pie – at the convenience store just a minute's walk away. It was delicious! Definitely don't miss it, as you won't find a pie with such great value for money anywhere else on the South Island, haha."
"The hotel is a ten minute walk from the city centre. It is a couple of Chinese couples who run the hotel. The hotel is a small ocean building with a history of more than 140 years. It is decorated in antique style and the rooms and bathrooms are a bit small. Western breakfast is served and free parking is available in the hotel yard."
"I had a fantastic stay at Christchurch Tasman Holiday Park! The location is perfect — close enough to the city for convenience, yet peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature. The grounds are well-maintained, clean, and spacious, making it ideal for families, couples, or solo travelers. The facilities are excellent, with modern amenities including clean bathrooms, well-equipped kitchens, and comfortable communal areas. The staff were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. I especially appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the variety of accommodation options available, from powered sites to cozy cabins. Highly recommend this holiday park for anyone visiting Christchurch"

"My wife, Judith, stayed overnight in the Quest, a hotel we hadn't previously been aware of. I did have the opportunity to help her to settle there before I was needed elsewhere. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, service and extraordinary facilities that were provided, even down to washing powder for the washing machine and drier. The location could not have been better for our needs, nor the staff more helpful and welcoming. If anyone needs reasonably priced accommodation with a standard of service, cleanliness and facilities - explore this hotel."
"Great sized room and was very handy to be able to do some washing and have a kitchenette. Location was good, close enough to city centre but not right in the middle!
We found the shower bath to be unsafe to use as a shower.. it was very high to step over, uneven to stand on and extremely slippery. My partner slipped and slightly fell which was a close call. A non slip mat would be handy in future for sure.
Other than that we were kept awake by hoons cruising loudly down the road all night, but not much the hotel can do about that so more of a side note."
"The hotel is beautifully set in a garden, and from our balcony, we enjoyed views of a lovely small garden. It was interesting to see Emirates airline crew checking in during our arrival; it certainly made me think about the good perks they must enjoy! Breakfast was served right by the garden, offering fantastic views. And to my surprise, they even had stir-fried noodles!"

DDragan S**Comfortable Stay with Great Service**
I had a pleasant stay at **Rosewood Court Motel**. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the essentials, including a comfortable bed and a small kitchenette. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the parking was convenient.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was also great—close to shops, restaurants, and easy access to the city.
Overall, it’s a good choice for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.
BBocaiaihaozheHappy with this hotel. It's in a very central location, right next to the cathedral. The hotel itself was also very clean. However, the shower in the bathtub only had a half-screen, which meant the bathroom floor got completely soaked after showering. Also, parking costs 25 NZD per night.
GGuest UserWhen I arrived I was told I had an upstairs unit. Unfortunately I had a lot of luggage. Changing to a lower level was not possible. But an offer was made to assist me with the luggage.
I drove towards the unit and there is no available parking close by. I drove back to the front desk and explained my problem. They told me that they could move a car to allow me to park. One of the staff followed me back and took care of finding a space and also delivering a cone so that I could hold the space when I went out to dinner. He also came back to help with the luggage. So great staff! But the lack of parking (because they let people leave their cars there when they fly) would make me reconsider staying again.
I’d booked an Economy studio and was given an Economy two bedroom. Unit was a blend of older and newer features. Bathroom was updated but shower stall looked older and not as clean. Good water pressure.
Ordered breakfast at the on-site Restaurant. The waffles with berry compote & lemon curd was a large portion but very tasty. Great coffee.
CCitizen of The World - Veni, Vidi, ViciExcellent location. The reception was friendly and helpful. Love the bsthroom that comes with heater, powerful shower, and even have a heated bar to warm the towels and dry your wears if needed. Highly recommended.
HHelloEarthThe room and toilet is cleaned everyday. They are large enough. Definitely worth it for travellers to stay a few nights. Buffet breakfast has large variety of option, with a 10% discount for Hotel Give guests.
PPei ChiExcept there's a stain on my bedsheet, the hotel is a great to stay in as it's spacious and other parts of rooms and toilets are clean. 15min walk to Bontanic gardens or to Riverside market and a Casino just opposite.. Was greeted warming by the staffs n a breeze to check in. It's worth for a long stay where all amenities are provided, especially love their Huia series.
Just to note the towels are changed every 3 days but u can have it changed upon request for environmental friendly purposes.
GGuest UserThe unit is complete with 1 bedroom with ensuite bathroom, kitchen and living hall. Washer and dryer is hidden behind cabinet at the kitchen area. Kitchen is fully functional with induction stove(depending on which unit you being assigned), microwave and all utensils needed to cook a complate meal.
The best part is the bus stop right opposite Fino has bus to airport no. 29. You may pay in cash or debit/credit card ( not all buses has this). A trip to airport by cash is NZD4 for adult and NZD2 for kids above 5. Below 5 is free.
GGuest UserI stayed here for one night when I first arrived in Christchurch, and stayed in Christchurch for two more nights after my self-driving trip to the South Island. The location is very convenient, and it takes no more than ten minutes to drive to downtown. There are also several good Chinese restaurants within walking distance. In addition, I am quite picky about hygiene, and I really can't find any faults with this hotel. It is very clean overall, very quiet at night, and the bedding is also good and very comfortable to sleep. It is very cost-effective and recommended!
GGUIYINGThe hotel has a parking lot and no breakfast, but the location of the hotel is very good. It is a few minutes away from the large supermarket, Chinatown and food street. It is very convenient to eat. You can also come to the supermarket to buy food and cook for yourself. This hotel has Chinese service.
LLouis ConnorWe were running late and were going to miss the advertised check-in time, so I called ahead to find out what to do. Although no-one answered the phone, we were informed by the automated answerphone that if you missed check-in, they would leave your keys to your room in a lock-box outside reception. This is a major plus for travellers as it can be so hard to execute your travel plans to schedule!
The facilities in The Lodge, where we were staying were mostly communal and hostel-like - people seemed to hang around in hallways. For some this could be a great way to socialise or otherwise intimidating. These communal areas were slightly untidy and unclean. We stayed in a room with en-suite facilities. It was very basic with two large twin beds pushed together to make a King-sized bed. The shower temperature fluctuated massively but we had a comfortable stay.
We did not eat on-site as we found it to be overpriced but we did notice that there was a wide range of social events such as a pub quiz which would have been super fun if we had more time!
