This is an excellent hotel and we really enjoyed our stay here. Tina at the counter was very helpful in providing information for us and we enjoyed her recommendations for local food. The other staff we came into contact with, from cleaning personnel to other hotel employees, were very nice and considerate. The breakfasts were very well done and included not only a rich spread of Chinese food, but also a very nice spread of Western food. In addition, we felt the cost to benefit ratio was exceptional. We would definitely stay in this hotel again in the future. The room was delightful and the whole place was very family friendly!

Reception were not well trained . Upon check in day one a deposit was collected and on the same day night they made a call to inform we did not pay the hotel charges and later explained it was reception lapsed that they did not collect upon check in even it states pay at property . 2) chambermaid was brazen to wash our socks without permission and after breakfast we were shocked to see our socks as wet. What if we only have a pair of socks for tourist stay ? 3) after check out multiple phone calls was made to our mobile and was told item teaspoon was missing in the room. And if they cannot find it they will raise a charge on our credit card ??? We called back 5 times to ask n follow-up and wasted 30
Mins of our morning to ask if item was found . We even informed it was on the basin area. Wrong procedure as in general all check out reception staff would contact chambermaid to ask if minibar and items were intact before letting the guest check out . The reception lady were having an aloft attitude and said we could go and we even have to ask for car parking coupon and were directed to fill in the form . This make us beg for service instead and please train your staff to check the items before check out and not making irritating calls and that spoil our rest of the day with 5 international calls made to assist them for a teaspoon costs of CNY20!!! Disgusting service . Please train your staff !!!

A remarkable star hotel. From the hotel room, you can overlook the downtown area of Xining and the surrounding mountains, and the night view is also unobstructed. Down from the hotel is a riverside park, where you can see all kinds of Xining people's leisure time. The breakfast is relatively rich. After staying for a few days, I was able to safely pass the altitude sickness period thanks to the hotel.
Unfortunately, except for a staff member (manager) in the hotel lobby who looks like the famous actor Wang Gang and is very friendly and smiling, and a cleaning lady (Wang) who serves with a smile, there are no smiling faces of the staff in the entire hotel. Smiling service is not only a manifestation of personal accomplishment, but also the culture and level of an enterprise. In addition, it is a regular service standard that kitchen staff must wear masks when serving food and beverages.
With the cordial service of the two smiling staff and several doormen, there will be the thought of staying at Qinghai Hotel again.

The girl who checked us in was a godsend. We arrived on a particularly freezing evening! She took the initiative to upgrade us to a room facing the inner courtyard as it was warmer. The location is perfect, right next to the railway station with a few restaurants next door for dinner. Take a short stroll across the river and it's the herb wholesale market with plenty of breakfast options around. It's a bit dated but it's good for transit. The spectacled girl at reception in the morning was horrible though. Bad attitude!

Good locale. Service staff excellent! Breakfast spread worth the value. Hotel changes their menu and not repeat all the same items.
However they should look into the coffee bean maker as it was really slow to churn out a good cup of coffee! Could be that the piping needs to be checked or even cleaned out!?
Overall, it was a good experience. Hallway to the rooms lighting uses sensor, which perhaps need to be adjusted, as it requires heavy stomping of the feet to light up. Thanks!

GGuest UserWe stayed here twice, between different train journeys. Both times we had an excellent and comfortable stay. This time, the staff helped us when I had questions about laundry (and gave me extra hangers for my room), directed us to a woman who could mend my torn pants, answered the many other questions we had and also gave us a late checkout so we could repack our bags before an overnight train journey. Convenient location, clean and comfortable room, excellent staff. Great value for money.

CConstancia UrrutiaIt was an absolute pleasure staying at the Campanile hotel in Xining! From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcomed. Despite my early arrival, the staff, especially Marie, Xiaojing, and Xiaoma, were so kind and accommodating, allowing me to check in without any hassle.
The thoughtful touches throughout my stay truly made it exceptional. The welcome fruits upon arrival were a lovely surprise, and the complimentary breakfast was a fantastic start to the day. My room was not only sparkling clean and incredibly comfortable but also offered a great view of the city – a real treat!
What truly sets the Campanile apart is the exceptional service. Marie, Xiaojing, and Xiaoma were always ready to assist with a smile, going above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. The added bonus of free laundry facilities was also incredibly convenient.
To top it all off, the farewell gift was such a sweet and unexpected gesture. It's clear that the team at the Campanile in Xining genuinely cares about their guests' experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and extend my sincere thanks to Marie, Xiaojing, and Xiaoma for making my stay so memorable. I will definitely be choosing the Campanile again on my next visit to Xining!

GGuest UserThis is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed. Service is amazing. Breakfast is extremely good with a very big choice of western food. At check out Isabelle even gave me some complementary coffee for my train trip to Lhasa, as well as a gif box from the hotel. Absolutely value for you money! One of the hotels in China that really deserves 5 Stars!

Tthe_wanderlust_jellyWas told I am given a free room upgrade, but honestly I can't tell the difference. Also the room in the listing image was larger and brighter but the actual room I received was extremely rather grim looking, not to mention it doesn't even look like half the room size in the listing image. I also can't seem to adjust the aircon temp as it will remain at room temperature no matter what I set, however xining is quite cooling in general so it's still acceptable. In the room I was give, the glass panel at the washroom side had a severely cracked side which seem like it will break if I had closed the glass door too hard. I took a video immediately before using the toilet in case it really does get shattered, but luckily it did not Very unsafe nevertheless. The shower was the worst, every night I had to gamble if it will be cold or scalding hot water. I set the shower value slightly towards the warm side, and the water became scalding hot within seocnds, and if I move it to the cold side, it became freezing cold within seconds. Even if I set it exactly in the middle, it will give me either one of the extreme temperature. Had to keep adjusting from hot to cold so that it stay at a comfortable and safe temp range. The toilet bowl flush in a very stupid manner too, by first flooding the bowl from bottom up, this means that if you took a dump and it's a slightly sticky one, it's gonna stick. The electric kettle was so noisy when turned on that it sound like a train passing right beside my room. And speaking of noise, the sound proofing of the room was one of the worst of every single hotel I stayed in before. You can literally hear new occupants dragging their luggage or family chattering non stop right after they exit the lift. FYI, my room was literally the furthest away. Every time your neighbors from 3 room away turn on their tap water, you can hear it, even if that's like 4am in the night. The hairdryer is a safety hazard too. Tried to use it once and after plugging in and turning it on, smoke immediately came oozing out of it, so I immediately switched it off and remove the plug. Never used it since. Oh yes one last thing I have to say is that as a hotel PLEASE NEVER USE MOVEMENT OR VOICE CONTROLLED LIGHTINGS. While I wash up every day, I had to keep waving my hands like an ***** every few minutes in order to prevent the lights from going out. The detection is sooooo off that unless there's a huge action at the correct spot, it will not turn the lights back. This was absolutely annoyance.
However the things I mentioned above are although not welcomed, but can be tolerated.
Personally, the only thing I really love about this was the free tea. And that is also a highly recommended must try. I believe that's ******* black tea which is also a local specialty. I regret not trying earlier because at the latter of my trip, I no longer pass by stores that sells ******* black tea. Recommendation to the hotel is include a way to buy some of this tea.
Overall, I will only recommend the hotel to someone who do not have any other choice or have a lower budget in mind.

When I checked in at the counter and saw the Wangzai doll logo, I suddenly realized that it was a hotel under a food brand group. In addition to the high-ceiling counter lobby, business room type and large bathtub in the bathroom of traditional star hotels, the decoration inside and outside the room is very characteristic of the group. The room is comfortable and there are free snacks and air sterilizers of the group brand inside. The location is about 30 minutes by bus from the high-speed rail station. Next to it is the busy pedestrian street, food street and bus station. There is an airport bus stop 20 minutes away on foot, and life and transportation are very convenient

BBrianJillReally nice hotel around 15mins walk to railway station. For tourist like me that do not need to deal with wechat and alipay payment method, this hotel accepts your visa card no problem! Breakfast has a lot of options omg! They have noodles, different saute veggies, fried and boil eggs, buns, breads, fruits yougurt. I arrived early and i am lucky there is available room so they gave it eventhough the checkin time is 14:00. The reception can speak some english I ask reception if it is ok if i check out 19:00 tomorrow they said yes. Then the next day I was told i need to leave. But I told them that i would want to leave around 19:00, i asked yesterday the reception said it was ok. So there are misunderstanding in that part but anyway it china and i know the difficulties in speaking. The reception said i need to pay the full price and i asked if i could only pay half since i am leaving 19:00 just need 5hours extra because my train leave at 21:00. Xining is so different from other cities in china there's lesser queue here. GGuest UserComfortable enough place. The staff are friendly even with a language barrier, and accommodating to your needs. The rooms are basic, but have good ventilation from being high up and easy to walk to many restaurants and shops nearby. Some of the other guests were loud every night when I was there and there wasn't anything done about it, they were screaming late into the night multiple nights. But I guess this is part of staying in a ”hostel”.

We requested water for drinking and hanger to hang our clothes after washing and dry with dryer and the hotel management helped us with it.
The room is big enough for 5 pax and clean
Breakfast provided for every day too.

Bbebou around the worldWe found the hotel easily. The lobby seems to be shared with another hotel. Check-in was possible even late at night. The reception staff upgraded us into a room with a window which was nice. The room in itself is small but functional. The bed is small but comfy. The TV worked well. There's a laundry room that you can use for free but the dryer mode doesn't work. The amenities are outdated and cleanliness is really not what you would expect. Our toilet seat was broken, the sink was dirty (we removed some stains with just water and toilet paper) and it was leaking. The walls have some very nasty stains on it and there's dust and stains on many things inside the room (bedside tables, fan, wardrobe, bedside lights, etc). One very annoying thing is that when you don't close your door properly, there's a loud alarm that quickly starts ringing. Unfortunately, when it's breakfast time, many people don't care and will leave that to ring until they come back, and it's very annoying. Breakfast is Chinese food only and not that great. Plus it is served in a very small room where there's definitely not enough space for everybody so you might have to wait. On the second day, housekeeping took our bath mat and didn't replace it, so we had to use another towel. On the third day, despite putting the ”do not disturb sign” on the door, housekeeping knocked several times until told that we didn't need anything. I mean it's nice of them, but the point of having the sign is not to be disturbed. Depending on when you take your shower, the water can be a bit dodgy (fine at night, but in the morning, it goes from burning to barely hot to burning again which can be annoying). The layout of the bathroom is weird as well as the toilet protrudes in the middle of the bathroom making it complicated to move around, exit the shower or even use the sink (especially since ours was leaking all over). Shower glass doors also don't close properly so lots of water is coming out. Our laundry string was broken so we had to find another way to dry our laundry.
I think it's important to note as well that as foreigners, we have been followed to our door by some other guests, and were stared at by others until we entered our room and closed the door which didn't feel safe for my girlfriend.
All in all, if you don't care about cleanliness, then it's ok as it's well located.
