"The location was excellent, located above the Bilbao Express Bus Station building. It's not far from downtown. The Busner metro is also nearby. I was satisfied with both the location and the cleanliness. While the room wasn't particularly large, it was fully equipped with a refrigerator, hairdryer, safe, and electric kettle. However, the bathroom is open to the public, so it might be a bit inconvenient for couples. I was traveling solo, so that wasn't a problem. Other than that, the hotel was better than I expected. I haven't had breakfast yet, so it's too early."

"Hardware is all fine and staff are friendly, but the ability for them to understand English is harder than I thought. If you need to book a taxi to airport or something crucial in terms of timing, better double check. Also, they got a nice small kitchen with disherwasher and washing machine. They provide all detergents for both. However, they don't have basic salt, pepper and edible oil. Microwave is nice and quick to have."

"This is an apartment hotel located next to the British company, with subway to the train station and bus station, very convenient. Downstairs and nearby many restaurants. There is a large supermarket on the 6th floor of the British company to buy a variety of food. This hotel has no front desk, but there is a 24-hour online front desk. The only downside is that after booking, I didn't receive any email notifications about how to check in. So we went to the hotel door, rang the doorbell to connect to the hotel's online service, sent us an email, and gave the entry password. You will then need to check in online, you can use the link of the email or have a check in machine. Check in requires a photo of the booking and a selfie. You will then need to fill in the ID information of all the guests. You will receive the room number and password after checking in. After entering the room, there are snacks such as water in welcome gift, . Very intimate. You can download the hotel's app, you can use your mobile phone to unlock it, which is very convenient. highly recommended!"

"The location of the hotel is perfect!!! Opposite the museum, a great walk to the old town!!! The room is very comfortable. The only thing is that there is no free water, everything is paid! No slippers and a robe, accessories for brushing teeth. Another point: if the windows overlook the city, then downstairs opposite there is a youth club! "We had such a great time this year for Semana Grande. And the Axel Hotel was in the perfect location for us. Right on the river next to a great spot for drinks and food. The rooftop pool is also a great spot to watch the fireworks! The staff was so helpful and friendly. And although we didn't need housekeeping while we were staying there they offered every day to clean our room or swap out towels or necessities for us. What a great experience. We will definitely be back!"

However, there's one detail that could be clearer: the hotel advertises ”private parking,” but in reality, it's a public city parking lot located about 450 meters away. It costs €20 per day, and there is no parking directly at the hotel. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to know in advance.

GGuest UserLoved my stay at Hotel Arriaga! The location is absolutely perfect – right in the heart of everything and super easy to walk everywhere. The room was clean, modern, and the bed was super comfy.
The staff were really lovely and gave us some great tips for local pintxo bars. The vibe is relaxed and unpretentious, which we appreciated.
Small note for light sleepers: ask for a room away from the street, as it can get a bit lively at night (but that's part of the charm of being in a great location!). The WiFi was also a bit spotty at times.
Overall, fantastic value for money. Would definitely stay here again for a casual city break!

WWalt from LAOverall good experience, good stay, good price, good sized room. Location was good. Beds were comfortable and not too small. Room was basic but we knew that going in. There was a microwave wave and fridge. It took us a while to figure out the air conditioning but it worked. There wasn’t soap in the bathroom. Some issues were that it being a dorm it didn’t have things that you would find in a hotel room like a blow dryer or cups. So we could heat water in microwave but we had to buy cups to hold the water in. If we had access to a kettle or a blow dryer or mugs, even paying to rent one would have made things easier. The laundry room did not accept coins so we had to download an app to wash our chonies. I’m not sure giving some app my credit info to be able to clean my chonies was worth it.

GGuest UserIt would be a coincidence, but we meet the cleaner girl in the lift and no good days, in reception if you don't say hello, they don't even salute.

GGuest UserPleasant apartment in a quiet suburb with friendly reception. Nearby is a supermarket, coffee shop and a good bar/restaurant. Transport to the center is also easy with bus 38 (get off at the 1st stop after the complex) or metro.
In addition, the complex is somewhat noisy (contact sounds and slamming doors), the apartment does not work as an apartment, because there are no kitchen utensils. There is also no cleaning and there are soaps etc.
The latter issues do not have to be insurmountable and then the price-quality ratio is good.
I do wonder what the noise will be like when the students return.

GGuest UserI was affraid about this hotel, because majority of people who stayed here leave nagative respond. As for bed bug, I couldn't see it for couple of day. Receptionist are quite low key, and Hotel locates at slum area, also bit far away from the central.
Overall, hotel is still decent choice as long as you're in the moment to cut your expenditure off.

GGuest UserI stayed one night in a shared mixed dorm. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and spoke English, which made check-in easy. Breakfast was basic but free, with bread, coffee, and juice. The hostel is not in the city center, but there is a bus stop right outside that takes you to the center in about 15 minutes. There is also a kitchen if you want to cook your own food, and lockers for your things. Good choice if you want something affordable and quiet.

TTravelling meThe room was basic but clean and was situated on the outskirts of Bilbao. The sound insulation was terrible and other guests could be heard clearly though the walls. I also found the room very cold and there was no aircon or heating system to help guests stay warm. Reception isn’t 24/7 so no one to ask questions of. I thought the place was massively over priced as it is rather like a youth hostel as there isn’t a joining bathroom facility.
