Good points - communal areas clean and tidy. Vitoria on reception nice. Large bedroom looked like it was recently Decorated. Big bed and soft pillows. Enough electric sockets. Good shower. Soundproof, although there's always someone who has to slam their door. Breakfast good. All the usual. Bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit eggs etc. Bit manic at times. Bad points. Bedroom wasn't cleaned and bed wasn't made one day. Another day we weren't left with a spare toilet roll. Our towels were never folded and just left in a heap on the rail. Never given any milk in room for coffee. We haf a shared balcony, but if we went on it, you could see staight into another bedroom, on the corner. Thick slimy brown muck at bottom of shower. It was never clear off in the 9 nights we were there. Without effort, I cleared a bit off with a tissue. It was disgusting. Area is good and not run down considering its by the station
The Arli Hotel has an unprepossessing exterior on a busy commercial street but is very conveniently located - a short walk from the train station, or to the funicular to the old city, Citta Vecchia, and the downtown shopping and strolling streets. Inside, it is clean, efficient, and well laid-out with a helpful and friendly front desk staff. Our room was likewise very clean, with very comfortable bed, good lighting, useful shelf space and furnishings, simple modern decor, and a decent-sized and fine bathroom. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We were entirely happy with our stay here.

We were instructed to drive in front of the hotel, which was very difficult, to get a permit to drive in the Cittá Alta and a voucher for the parking garage. If you have small baggage, it’s better to send your license plate to reception, and park your car first. Our room was narrow and large, with a king size bed, the bathroom in the middle, and a corridor to the closet, a sofa bed and a table. It had a small TV, minibar, espresso and teapot, safe box, robes and slippers and a large shower, no bathtub. The décor is minimalist and chic, with wooden floors. There were windows to both sides of the block. Try no to walk barefoot around the room; the bed has sharp metal corners. I hit my toes twice. On our way out, I saw parents using the step elevator at the lobby for their young girl’s wheelchair and was surprised at this very useful facility.
Lovely boutique hotel with amazing, friendly and ever- helpful staff. Our room was on the 3rd floor at the front and we only heard any late night noise (bistro and restaurant across the road) one evening when we had the windows open. No sound could be heard when the windows were closed (other than the aircon). Our room was large with a large bathroom and wonderful walk-in shower. The breakfast choice was excellent with made to order hot breakfasts beautifully presented and cooked. Good location with shops, restaurants, cafes and buses nearby. Being of an age, we took the bus up to cite alta. All the Italians we met were very friendly and helpful and keen to practise their English. It is only a very short journey from Bergamo airport but it is an extremely busy airport and, when we landed, around 8.30pm, there was a long queue for taxis and none there. There is an airport bus but it is a normal bus without luggage space. If you travel with less luggage than us then this may be an option. It is a fair walk then to the hotel though there is a bus you can take but beware, many of the buses stop running mid-evening. It is a beautiful city in two parts, upper and lower and a wonderful hotel. We stayed a week which, I understand, is fairly unusual. We did travel to Milan for one day, 1 hour by train, but the Lakes were a 2 hour journey with a change so we didn’t manage that. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t praise the hotel staff highly enough, especially the front desk staff, Francesco, Joanna and Rebecca who really made our stay special.

GGuest UserWe recently returned from spending a very enjoyable week at Casa Mario Lupa. The building is a typical medieval house in the small medieval city of Bergamo run by Gianmauro and his wife. The rooms are very large and the bed and pillows are extremely comfortable even for my very fussy husband! We had a lounge with a TV, kitchen area, shower room and separate bedroom which suited us very much as it meant that I could sleep while my husband stayed up later. There are very loud bells from the cathedral nearby which start at 7.30am with the last ones at 10pm. They didn't bother us at all as we felt they added to the atmosphere and acted as our alarm clock in the mornings! Breakfast consisted of tea or coffee, fruit juice, fruit and delicious bread rolls. The house is in a small quiet street near the restaurants, coffee shops, and venicular which takes you down to lower Bergamo. There is also a regular number 1 bus that will take you to the airport and the train station where you can get cheap train travel to Milan - one hour, Venice -3 hours, Verona and Lake Garda etc. Gianmauro is a wonderful host, very friendly is very helpful and has a great deal of knowledge of the area. He will also meet and return you to the airport if you don't want to take the bus. All in all a perfect holiday! Thank you Gian PS just one small suggestion, a couple of long life capsules of milk and some teabags or coffee upon arrival would be most welcome. Luckily we found the minimarket just as it was closing up for the day!

GGuest UserWe would certainly come back over and over. We were only here for one evening but everything was perfect. I wish there would be a microwave otherwise you can find everything you need in there and it's extremely clean. The bed felt AMAZING.
CChristopherE159The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the Citta Alta, Begrgamo located close to the Piazza Vecchia. The staff upon arrival were absolutely delightful and most helpful throughout our stay. We were offered a room upgrade which was very welcome indeed. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious with an excellent shower room with all the essential components. An excellent tv and a coffee machine were standard. The staff were very willing to provide milk for us English tea drinkers in our room! Our only criticism would be that it was a little dark with limited lighting but this is a minor observation! The views from our double aspect room were stunning. A small balcony was a real bonus but we didn't manage to enjoy this given the cold weather in January. Our booking included breakfast which was served in the dining room. There was an excellent choice for breakfast including meats and cheeses, bread, toast, fruit and cereals. The pastries and croissants were every inviting. The dining room also doubled as a small bar in the evenings. There is a lift from the first floor but with steep steps up to the reception area on the first floor with a stair lift for those with difficulty climbing the stairs. There are plenty of super restaurants within a very short walk from the hotel. All of the sights are also within easy reach. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserStayed here for two nights. Had stayed before in the “old town” area of Bergamo which was lovely. This area would be considered “run down”. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the main town for coffee shops, restaurants etc. Previous reviews commented how welcoming, friendly, helpful etc the reception staff were but I didn’t get that experience. Reception area is right inside the door so it can be crowded arriving and leaving with luggage, prams etc. Room was adequately spaced. Could have been given extra towels (three for a single room is basic), also needed a fridge and water glasses etc in the room. Floors could have been hoovered so make sure you wear slippers (not included in the room)! Didn’t include breakfast in my stay and glad I didn’t cos the selection looked limited. This hotel is fine for a short stay but perhaps look elsewhere if staying for longer.
We made a stop after flying to see the opera in Verona, the hotel is lovely for a 2 stars, the staff mostly good as well. the lovely young lady at reception was amazing and accommodating. The food was hit and miss 2 night we ate really well the third night nit great I sent my FAKE crab back and ordered a pizza Margherita instead that was really underwhelming .. I ate is as I was hungry, the young waiter was a little useless compare to the others we had before which where great, was also a little rude making excuses that he was tired😑.. overall a great stay, the water and fake crab cost then a full mark.

GGuest UserWe can really recommend staying at Ciccio B&B. Lovely host, who’s helpful with giving advice to the city and places to dine. The room was tidy and cosy. In the very heart of Bergamo, conveniently close to the old town and train station. Only downside was that it was a little tricky to leave, since we had to leave the keys inside the room, but in order to get out, we had to use the key at both the main gate and apartment gate. Maybe it would be wise to leave a postbox at the entrance where future costumers can leave the key. Otherwise very nice stay
11171816888The hotel is generally satisfactory. The area is quite prosperous and there are many shops where you can go out for a walk. It is about a 5-minute walk from the train station. The front desk service is very good and the front desk lady is very enthusiastic.
Our second stay in this hotel and it will not be our last! We have now stayed here for our anniversary and my partners birthday! The staff are all so so lovely, they are so helpful. The breakfast is great - there are sausages, beans & eggs all hot and fresh and topped up often. There are many varieties of fresh croissants, there are cakes and creams and jam and toast and yoghurts also. The pistachio cream is amazing! The lobby is old fashioned & authentically Italian and we love it! The bedrooms are all different and all just as lovely. The first time we stayed we had a beautiful ornate headboard and the second time we had a perfect top floor room! ( beware there are steps up if you want a top floor) We had a wraparound balcony where we could watch a lovely Italian sunrise. Both rooms we have stayed in had baths. The service is really second to none. There are luggage holding facilities which we use. The hotel is a 10/15 min walk into a more central part of the new town and the bus/train stations which is perfect for us. It’s quite quiet around the hotel.
GGuest UserVery new property. Due to the period, my choice is oriented to accomodations which allow the self check-in, without the need to get in contact with other people. After following an easy and quick procedure to provide my details, I received the codes of the building and my room. Very recommended for the location, just out of the property you are in a pedestrian area with bars, nice restaurants and any kind of shops.
