After three weeks of touring Paris, Bayeux, Lyon and the Rhone River this was our favorite spot. We were there for two nights and it was a perfect little spot. The front desk staff and hotel were great and the town was charming. The staff catered to our every request for help as we speak NO French and helped with reservations and scheduling tours. The front desk does it all from checking you in to bartending their adorable little lounge area. It was so charming. A private tour of Normandy is well worth the money as well!
We first saw Bellefontaine on a touching movie ”A Foreign Field” that was created for the 50th anniversary of the debarquement, and filmed partly at the château. There was always the possibility that it might be a disappointment, but I am happy to say it wasn't. This hotel is a little gem, situated just 15 minutes walk from Bayeux centre, yet quiet and remote, a peaceful haven. The welcome was near perfect. Our room was not quite ready, so we were seated on the terrace and supplied with a drink each, a speciality of the hotel. Soon we were shown to our room which was splendid. Elegant, spacious, well furnished and scrupulously clean. Over two days we loved every minute. The staff deserve particular mention, both in reception and in the restaurant we were made to feel special guests. Should we ever visit Bayeux again, and we well might, we would consider nowhere else. Bellefontaine would be our home.

This is a bike friendly hotel that comfortably accommodated our group of 22 cyclists. Excellent location on a quiet side street but still very central, It is true that some of the upper floor rooms lacked adequate hot water but hopefully this will be fixed when they renovate the upper floor rooms. We really liked that there were only 2 floors with nice wide stairway so it was easy to get bags upstairs. As well we appreciated that even thought it was not yet October 1st, with the cold weather they had heat operating in the rooms so we could get cosy and warm after a chilly bike ride. And as mentioned by everyone: very nice breakfast and super helpful reception staff. We will return!
The Novotel in Bayeux is a good basic hotel. The location is easy to get to and a great base from which to head out and explore. There is more than ample free parking. The rooms are well appointed for the price. There is a nice and clean little swimming pool in the back, and a surprising amount of lawn. Very relaxing. The high point of our stay was definitely the staff. All were friendly, courteous, and very professional. The manager was very responsive when my wife brought up a minor issue. The breakfast is very good, and we were surprised that we didn't have to pay for our 14 year old son. About the only downsides we encountered were the somewhat careworn look of the hotel, and the limited dinner menu. These are minor issues though. Overall I would recommend this hotel and I would certainly return.

Museum of the Battle of Normandy
伊伊恩枕The Allied Museum next to D-Day Beaches is located on the seaside in a small town called Arromanches. Many combat cannon models can be seen around the museum, reminding people of the cruelty of war. It is also one of the landing sites of the Normandy Campaign. The artificial port of Arromanches was the port where the Allied forces launched the Normandy Campaign on June 6.
Bayeux Tapestry Museum
淼淼淼0301Bayo has many museums, this is Bayo is very famous Bayo Tapestry Museum, this museum contains a large collection of tapestries, these tapestries have a variety of beautiful patterns, it is worth visiting.
Bayeux Cathedral
SsculptorThe Basilica of Notre Dame is a Roman Catholic church located in the town of Bail, Normandy, France. After the Bail was severely damaged in the 12th century, the reconstruction was carried out in a Gothic style, the most famous of which is the cross-shaped tower. However, although the towers began in the 15th century, they were not built until the 19th century.
Museum of Art and History Baron Gerard
TTodemmy[View] The painting museum I recently liked [Fun] Apart from painting, the Baron Geral Museum has few other exhibits, but there are a lot of really excellent works here, the Tyson Museum is very clean and well maintained. There is also a great cafe inside the museum. There are not many tourists here, the special exhibitions in the museum are well done (compared to the exhibitions designed by Parisian family and ipaintings), and the special exhibitions are included in the ticket. Remember to bring your passport so you can get a premium discount when buying tickets. We were supposed to stay at the museum for only one morning, but we actually spent six hours walking around and we had a nice lunch on the cafe terrace. I wouldn't compare this museum to the Prado Museum, which has a limited collection, but the exhibits are from incredible Spanish masters. Museums are more like the Metropolitan Museum of New York and I prefer if you like painting, the Tyson Museum and the Prado Museum are not to be missed
