"Wyndham Pitts has got to be commended for its central location and unblocked view of the Three River confluence, at a great price! Check in was smooth and travel to other parts of the city was very easy, with various amenities like 24h convenience stores and jazz bars within walking distance. One could also walk to the Andy Warhol museum through the majestic Three Sisters bridges and also the Duquesne Incline for a breathtaking view of the city. And finally the pool has a great view.
One could probably only complain about the aging furnishes with some cracked or stripped wooden sections of the walls, and I thought it would be nicer to have a kettle in the room."
"The air conditioner is noisy. The air conditioner is used for heating. It roars intermittently and blows very dryly. The Pittsburgh Hilton, the Boston Westin, and the Chicago Avenida Hilton are all like this. The three hotels are equivalent to chain hotels in mainland China. The Westin is slightly better, about 3,000. The two Hiltons are about 1,500. Disposable items such as slippers and toothbrushes are not provided by most American hotels. Breakfast in these three hotels is à la carte, about 12-20 US dollars per portion, a large plate. After more than half a month, I concluded that the American meal is really too big for one person. If a girl doesn't eat much, two people can finish one portion. Hotel slippers that cost more than 6,000 a night have appeared, such as the Park Hyatt New York. The picture shows the surrounding environment of the hotel and the Carnegie Mellon campus"
"Clean and tidy, the service is good. The shower room and the toilet are separate and convenient. The large bed is combined with a sofa bed for family travel. Breakfast is simple and OK"
"It was very average. There was nothing in the room, including slippers, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and a hot water bottle. The worst thing was that there was a bar across the road, and the loudspeaker was facing the hotel, which made me doubt my life. If it wasn't close to my daughter's dormitory, I would never book. Not next time either"
"The room is small and the internet is poor! On the roadside, outside of Pittsburgh, and a certain distance from the shopping center. Driving is a detour. Breakfast is simple and parking is free!"
"The front staff was friendly and the rooms were spacious. This one was for senior citizens that came in for a family event. We requested a room that was close and close to the elevator. Both of which were accommodated. There was appeared to be a blood stain on one of the comforters, but because it was a double room the seniors decided to put their luggage on the that bed. "
"Although this hotel is inn, but the price is a bit high, the room on the first day roared loudly on the 11th floor, this sound can not imagine the sound of the roar with earplugs, the next day asked to change Room, the front desk staff had a woman's face stinking, changed to the 6th floor roaring, no air conditioning sound is still very loud, but in the acceptable range, the restaurant is close to the theater store, the location is in Pittsburgh It’s the city center, where the residents are still very simple, and there are not many Asians."
"The location is good and the staff is nice. The pricing is a little high. Probably likely due to the NCAA tournament but no matter when you go it’s always pretty high for this caliber room. Breakfast offering is nice. Room smelled like it had been previously occupied by a smoker. That’s something I should not be able to detect, in my opinion. The partially empty bottle of lotion a little disconcerting upon arrival."
"It was surprisingly good.
The overall service was very professional. The hotel is large, situated on a hilltop, and offers a beautiful setting.
The breakfast service was very attentive, with someone always available to help you with coffee and other drinks."
"Really good location, just a few minutes walk from a very nice part of town. The hotel is very modern and comfortable with lovely amenities, including a pool and gym. Breakfast was generous although missing some bits, we were very happy. The room itself was very comfy and although the bedding wasn’t the nicest, it was very clean. I will say the area itself felt a little sketchy at night and we were concerned about the car, but all was fine. It was very different by day!"

Very Good
SSiattaThe Hotel was lovely but there was some issues with beddings, cleanliness” but I had pictures so I was able to sent it to there higher up in which the issue was fixed immediately, the breakfast was really good but quite expensive so we chose to eat on our last day everyone in the hotel was pretty friendly and nice, my favorite part of the hotel were there cookies I think it did the trick with everything else they lacked and they weren’t stingy in handing out the cookies amazing” overall experience was a 3 star as expected what would make it for if they fixed things before check in like the beddings and vent system in the rooms” shower was good water pressure perfect
GGuest UserTryp was awesome. Great historical location and renovation. Location was fun, safe. Staff was excellent. Will strongly recommend.
Only one issue - apparently a new rule was implemented regarding checking in early afternoon. After a 6 hour drive I arrived at 1:15pm and asked to check in. I travel for a living so I was a bit disappointed to hear it would cost an additional $50 to get my room an 1 1/2 ”early”. I asked if it was ready and was told yes. So after a 6 hour drive my choice was to sit in the lobby for an hour and a half+ or pay the $50. I said I understood if I was trying to check in at like 9:00 am.
When checking out Tryp made the experience right.
Overall, as a frequent visitor to pittsburgh I look forward to returning and highly recommend.
TTravellerbychoiceHoliday Inn Express is a good hotel slightly away from the main Pittsburg city. It’s provides all the basic amenities, not a very high end but a god place for budget travellers. It was quite expensive during the college move-in days but cheaper than those near the university. Most shopping areas are closer to to the hotel. The breakfast was quite repetitive especially for those staying longer. Basic amenities such as laundry could be better and even a cold water machine would have been helpful.
GGuest UserThe staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The continental breakfast was decent, but not great. The location is fantastic if you're in town for a ballgame. However, my room was at the very north end of the hotel near the highway and the road noises at night was pretty bad/loud due to the elevated roadway.
The reason for my terrible rating on cleanliness is that when I turned down my sheets, I had black flecks of something all in my sheets, as well as a long dark hair under the top sheet I could see. Additionally, I had some sort of dead bug on my side table. It looked like potentially a bed bug, so I didn't get much sleep the only night I was there.
I'd recommend this hotel to stay at with a few caveats of asking for a room on the south end of the hotel as well as checking your sheets as soon as you get into your room.

GGuest UserThe hotel is close to the center of Pittsburgh (south side of the Monongahela river). The city can be easily explored on foot from there, you can reach the downtown area in 30 minutes on foot. Only negative point is that you need to walk through rather shady area which might some people feeling unsafe with. The hotel itself is good, the room was spacious and the beds very comfortable, the bathroom though showed tiny spots of mold - nothing serious though. Breakfast was served downstairs in a nice environment. It had a big selection (eggs, bacon, sausages, sweets, bread, cream cheese, jam and yoghurts as well as oatmeal) and was very tasty - which we enjoyed.
The coffee machine inside the room was really crappy, I pressed the button for inserting the coffee and it fell almost apart. I notified the receptionist and he told me I could always get coffee and hot water from the breakfast area which was highly appreciated.
As I stayed there on a weekend I used a public parking lot - for free - in the direct vicinity and did not pay for the rather expensive hotel parking.
