SSealionMy stay at Ureshino Onsen Yoshidaya Uchiroji Hondori (also known as Yadoya Uchiroji Hondori) was a tale of two extremes in the charming hot spring town of Ureshino, Saga Prefecture.
The hotel was modern Japanese-style with smart check-in system. The twin room was spacious, impeccably clean, and exude serene comfort, making it a perfect retreat. The private onsen facilities truly shine— It was a free slot with 40 mins, which could be booked once via QR Code at the room. Ureshino's famous sodium-rich hot springs, renowned as one of Japan's top three for beautifying the skin, deliver silky-smooth water that leaves you feeling rejuvenated.
However, the meal plan was a major letdown. I sent an email to the hotel to confirm my booking and stated I did not eat beef before. The customer service replied I had to pay extra per person in order to change the meat option. For over JPY 38,000 per night including breakfast and dinner, we anticipated premium kaiseki cuisine or traditional served Japanese dinner set. Instead, only a bento box with cold salad and an underwhelming beef and egg pie that felt mismatched for the price. Tragically, my husband experienced vomiting shortly after, likely food-related, which overshadowed our trip. And the breakfast was also disappointing, which was only cold sandwiches with a cup of tea or milk.
Thus, I strongly recommend the hotel clearly states the exact contents of dinner and breakfast plans on booking sites—including detailed menus or photos—and offers flexible options, such as plan changes or alternatives, if guests fall ill from the food. This transparency and adaptability would greatly enhance the experience and prevent frustration.

My recent stay at this hotel in Japan was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and attended to every detail with genuine hospitality. The highlight of my trip was undoubtedly the exquisite onsen bath house. Nestled amidst serene surroundings, the onsen offered the perfect blend of relaxation and rejuvenation. The facilities were immaculately clean, the water temperature was just right, and the tranquil atmosphere allowed me to truly unwind after a day of exploring.
Each morning began with their amazing breakfast spread, featuring a wonderful selection of both Western and Japanese dishes. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were outstanding, and the presentation was as beautiful as the flavours were delicious. From freshly brewed coffee to traditional miso soup, every meal was a delightful start to the day.
The rooms were spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was impressive, making my experience truly memorable.
I wholeheartedly give this hotel a five-star rating and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan. Whether you’re seeking a relaxing getaway, a cultural experience, or just a fantastic place to stay, this hotel exceeds expectations in every way.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Ureshino Onsen Bus Terminal. Each room comes with a complimentary 40-minute private onsen reservation. The breakfast and dinner were decent, but the portions were a bit small. Upon check-in, we were offered complimentary drinks like black tea, green tea, and coffee, along with some snacks. Alcoholic beverages were available in the evening, and in the morning, there was fruit and yogurt. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay!

CConnie Chan 21The hotel has only 10 rooms, the facilities are new, 10 points clean, Japanese style and wind, there is a massage function in the open air, the staff is 10 points good, will call to remind you to eat dinner and breakfast, originally need to leave the hotel early, can not enjoy dinner, The hotel specially arranged breakfast at an early time, very considerate service. And the quality of the food is very high. The water pressure is enough. Arranged to eat in a separate room, private feeling 10 points is sufficient.

The location is convenient and easy to find, the staff are very polite and provide detailed explanations of the facilities. The hot spring facilities are well-maintained, the water quality is pleasant, and the overall amenities are comprehensive. For a couple's vacation, the atmosphere and value are both satisfactory, making for a very smooth and enjoyable stay.

GGuest UserDrove there. Our room is located first floor with private onsen bath in the room. No shoes are allowed when you first step into the Ryokan. Slippers are provided.
Staff are friendly and nice, the room is clean and spacious. Food was typical Japanese breakfast. The private in-house onsen bath was awesome but sadly on the second day, the onsen bath tub started to leak hot spring water from all sides of the bath tub and from the wall and there is no way to stop the water gushing out!
As a kind gesture, the manager gave us some private time on the private onsen (require booking)

LLebalemaA great hotel with only 16 rooms. We booked 2 rooms, one with an outdoor hot spring facing the sea, and one with a bathtub. We booked a one-night stay with two nights. Dinner included large shrimps with bamboo crabs, especially the crab roe rice, which was very special.
The hotel facilities are also good, the rooms are large, and there are rest areas.
The only drawback is the transportation, there is no public transportation. We drove by ourselves, and the hotel could also pick us up at the nearest station on the same day.

GGuest UserIt was raining on the day we checked in, and there wasn't much shelter at the hotel entrance, so we got wet while unloading our luggage. The room facilities showed signs of age, but the cleanliness was acceptable. The hot springs have indoor and outdoor sections, but the showering areas lack privacy. It was fine with fewer people, but with more, everyone would get wet from each other. The dinner buffet was average. There were also tour groups from Southeast Asia and Korea staying that night, so the restaurant was very crowded with people queuing. Luckily, I went to the hot spring right after checking in at noon, otherwise, it would have been packed at night. Overall, I don't think it offers great value for money at this price.

Llightenuu521Pros: Very close to Takeo Onsen Station, practically door-to-door. There's a hot spring on the 8th floor, though it's on the smaller side. The breakfast has a good variety, but it can get very crowded. You can borrow bicycles, which saves you from walking.
Cons: I mistakenly booked a smoking room, and it smelled heavily of smoke – something to be aware of if you're sensitive to that. The soundproofing is poor; the noise from housekeeping outside my door was very loud, and I couldn't get any sleep, especially since I had a fever.
